Paris Hilton takes Buddhist monk Shopping

Paris receiving deeksha, a direct transmission of energy, as a blessing? (celebplanet)

Was Paris corrupting a member of the Sangha on Sunday, March 02, 2008, or was a corrupted member seduced by celebrity acting accordingly?

Always one to take the road less traveled Paris Hilton stepped out with the latest fashion must-have, her very own Buddhist monk, complete with flowing orange robes and a grizzled grey (non-regulation) beard and mane. The bizarre duo were spotted wandering around Los Angeles, taking time to pop into a spiritual bookstore and a luxury hotel.

The meaning of life here? Paris loves to shop but, in an attempt to reform herself, she's brought a guide. The 27 year old sported an understated look, a demure white outfit, as she browsed the shelves of Bodhi Tree books in West Hollywood.

The hotel heiress has been attempting to change her "party girl" image. And it looks as if the ageing monk is giving her a helping hand.

Paris leaped to worldwide fame in 2003 when a sex tape featuring her and ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon appeared on the Internet. Is she turning over a new leaf? Paris listens to the monk as he shows her a book titled The Path of the Painted Shaman.

In June of last year, her fame was meteoric as she served a mere 22 days in jail after being convicted of driving with a suspended license.

Paris and her new "guru" were doing more than shopping. They were seen reading The Path of the Painted Shaman, as the Hollywood listened intently to what the master had to say. The monk persuaded Paris to give away a piece of diamond jewellery as they wandered the streets together. Perhaps his message was getting through.

DENOUEMENT: As it turns out, this "monk" was a fake all along, perhaps promoting his unsold manuscript, perhaps paid to promote Paris' new public image.
