LA: Police abuse continues, getting punched

(CBSLA) Sheriff Alex Villanueva says a criminal investigation is underway -- not into the aggressive and illegal behavior of his deputies but into the victims -- after a video of a traffic stop involving Los Angeles County deputies is raising questions about department policy. Passenger Omar Medina captured video Sunday (May 24, 2020) afternoon, when he says his brother Jesus was driving away from a 7-Eleven ATM in Lynwood (a town in L.A.) to go pick up a bumper when they were stopped. Medina says the deputy told them they were stopped for tinted windows and expired license plates, minor fix-it ticket items. Then the power-tripping, harassment, and physical assault started. This deputy endangered the lives of four people, including the female deputy he was showing off for, and she ended up with a broken arm, which police are blaming on the victim they were attempting to further brutalize. Does the very unpopular sheriff care? He's only interested in covering his own back and that of those he has deputized.
