Slayer then and now: true crime, new band

Slayer and the disturbing case of Elyse Pahler | true crime documentary
(HawKNLoaD) Elyse Pahler, 15, was lured out of her home by three boys, Slayer fans, she knew from school. She met up with them a quarter mile from her house, in a secluded location. Her young killers believed that the virginal sacrifice of a blond, blued girl to Satan would be the ultimate sin against God and the Devil would, in turn, grant them musical ability, fame, and fortune. But all it brought was paranoia, guilt, and horrific tragedy.

In jail we thought the Aryan Brotherhood would treat us like kings, but they don't like sex crimes.

A band, a catharsis, it was all just fun and games, music to scream along to, until someone took it seriously as advice on how to behave in the human world. The world of demons, that's understandable, but on the human plane, the behavior of these horny white teens -- overcome with greed for fame and riches and lust for dames and b*****s -- it's unthinkable.

These are acts of the unspeakable. Do we blame rap, do we blame rock, do we blame the blues? All give rise to unskillful emotions. Is thrash, black metal (Satanic speed metal), or gruesome music about being a murderous soldier of a special kind of badness? And why do Beavis and Butt-Head like this famous band?

The band was broken up, the nightmare was almost over (I guess it never really is when a child is dead), but now one of the members has reformed. See review below.

Kerry King's new band [should be called "Slayer II: The Sequel"]

Are SLAYER metal legends or just overrated sh*t?
