More surf, snow, and rain coming to California

Weekend storm: It's so bad that meteorologists have forgotten how to spell "California."

    How young is too young to surf? How old is too old? "You're never too old to rock 'n roll," as Jethro Tulls sings and the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, and others prove.

    But riding waves on the professional circuit? Surfing (like skateboarding), unlike other sports, has an interesting relationship with age.

    Depending on how one practices the sport -- from big waves to small, longboards to short -- one can pretty much do it from the day one starts walking until, well, the day one stops [walking and breathing].
