Lunar New Year celebrations underway in Southern California
(KTLA 5) Feb. 10, 2024: Several days of rain in LA and the OC have made way for a sunny weekend, just in time for the Tet Parade in the City of Westminster’s "Little Saigon" neighborhood on the first day of the new year.

Westminster’s Tet Parade celebrates Vietnamese culture in addition to the beginning of the Lunar New Year with floats, marching bands, lion dances, color guards, martial arts exhibitions, and an array of local and international businesses, the city said. In earth shattering news today, the West Coast of the US welcomes the Lunar New Year along with all of Asia and diaspora (expat communities), ushering in the Year of the Dragon.
It's Tết, the "Festival of the First Day."

Astrologically (in alignment with the Chinese zodiacal system) this will be a prosperous year of wealth for everyone, which makes less sense in the West where we are run by a competitive rather than cooperative zero-sum capitalist banking system that always has someone losing for another one to win.

I'm a Sinophile with a dragon tat. Do I get a sign?
Of course, China's more idealistic and fair-minded nominal communist/socialist system might have a way for everyone to win rather than just the robber barons in Hong Kong.

In any case, everyone born on the planet was born into an animal sign assigned by the ancient Chinese system. (The Western Zodiac seems to be stolen from the Hindu Vedic astrological system).

Flying lizard "dragons"? That's ridiculous. Oh, unless you mean a pterodactyl dinosaur.
Western texts, like the Bible, are full of dragon tales, as is the East that calls them nagas.
