2026 Olympics begin with 'curling'
MILAN, Italy — Hayley Scamurra scored twice, and the United States opened the Milan Cortina Games women’s hockey tournament with a 5-1 win over Czechia on Thursday.
(Jimmy Kimmel Live) "Curling"? Silly Italian Olympics; Trump on NBC...
Alex Carpenter had a goal and assist, while captain Hilary Knight and Joy Dunne also scored for the Americans, who improved to 8-0 over the Czechs in international play.
Aerin Frankel, making her Olympic debut in net, stopped 13 shots. Laila Edwards had an assist while becoming the first Black female to represent America in hockey at the Olympics. More distractions: US women get off to impressive start in Olympic hockey with historical first

Peace Walk in freezing cold: Global warming?
(Walk for Peace) Ajahn never sleeps lying down in as a dhutanga practice
![]() |
| Freezing snowstorms could be climate chaos. |
Is "global warming" real? Who dares to say that it is not? The mainstream media shoves that message down our throat whether we like it or not. University researchers are enticed to find those results and punished when they find anything else. And no one seems to be counting the artificial manipulation of the weather with chemtrails, H.A.A.R.P., and other secret means. Humans are warming it, but it is a concerted effort to warm it and say in an alarmist way that that warming is galloping out of control now. We ignore our eyes. We ourselves do not review the data. When the meteorologist who founded the Weather Channel (weather.com) looked at the data, he did NOT find much of a rise. And he asked his colleagues about. There has been about a 1 degree rise in our lifetimes. Where are all the other headlines coming from and why? They will make us believe and demand that they intervene. We will not only give up our rights, we will demand they be taken away. There may be a mini ice age on the way, but we'll never hear about that above the din of alarmism and artificial youth movements kickstarted to promote an agenda. Natural global warming being brought on by consumer activity? Unlikely. Being brought on by corporate officials and their masters? Obviously.

Finland happiest in world for 8th year
Finland again ranked happiest country in the world as sad USA falls to its lowest-ever position
Finland is a county. It's no Buddhist Bhutan, the last Himalayan kingdom in the world, with its "Gross Domestic Happiness" rating being of central concern. Yet it manages to be happy. It's close to Sweden, not far from Norway. It is Scandinavian. And cold. There is no reason to be happy there, unless one is just traveling. Try Monty Python Travel Agents to arrange a tour.

Baby eaglet MISSING in Big Bear

Eagle cam views on overdrive

| One baby, two babies, where's the third eaglet?! |
Seven thousand feathers keep Jackie warm, sitting on her brood or clutch or nursery. Maybe a park ranger should climb the tree and shove the mother off her young so we can count them and feel better about our nosy curiosity about the mysterious ways of Nature and its blood smeared beaks and talons. Is it any wonder the dragons (nagas, reptilians) fear the garudas (suparnas, avians)
There's been progress. A pip has been detected, a quickening that inspires the other chicks in their embryonic shells to get with the pecking and break out. Although it is 18 degrees up at Big Bear Lake above LA, the eggs are warm by the vigilance of the parents, Jackie and Shadow, and everything looks good for the birth of three baby bald eagles. It makes one proud to be a Native American and watch respect for nature rub off on the cam jamming Lone Ranger man filming the birds in their element.

[Shoot them, kill the eagles before they harm the trout in the lake where human fishermen want to kill, cut, and eat them!!! It's nearing Lent when Americans pay for more fish to be killed for our insatiable hunger for blood and flesh, like ghouls or something. Terrestrial human hunters over amoral avian eagles! Or might Nature have its own ideas about balance, ecosystems, and lifecycles? *Irony*]

We may notice subtle changes in Jackie and Shadow’s behavior, such as becoming more attentive to the eggs.
Since Jackie is practicing delayed incubation, we may not see anything yet but will keep our eyes glued to all three eggs, [except for the runt. Who cares about him? Have you seen the price of a dozen of these? Make my murder morning mash of fowl fetuses too expensive to fry!]
The initial pip usually looks like a small bump, often shaped like a star, and is only visible when the camera is zoomed in. The eggs may have some dirt smudges or fluff stuck on them, which are not to be mistaken for pips.
- [Hey, is Zelenskyy going to start WW III after disrespecting VP Vance and not kissing PP Trump's ring? Sure glad we have this Eagle Cam set up so we don't have to think about how we have been funding Ukraine's killing of Russians and getting them killed for Europe. What are the CIA and Pentagon thinking?]
- What are garudas, alien bird-human hybrid people?
- Supaṇṇa Saṃyutta are Buddhist texts about garudas
- The Connected Discourses on Phoenixes [3] or Avians, Garudas, Suparnas, Harpies, Birdpeople provides basic accounts on the nature of the garuḍas, who are avian deities in Buddhist cosmology and mythology. In these texts, the Buddha describes these beings with regard to their mode of rebirth, hierarchy, as well as the reasons a person may be reborn among them.
If one notices any suspicious spot, please make a note and keep an eye on it. If it were a pip, in a few hours, it would grow into a larger, more obvious pip site.
- BEWARE OF PWI: "Pip watch itch" manifests as an urgent need to study all egg rolls frame-by-frame and pronounce every dirt speck or fluff a pip. It is highly transmissible, occurs seasonally, and has no known cure. Not to be confused with "presidential war incitement" Q.E.D.

🐣 HATCHING is a long process that may take a few days: bit.ly/3UVVy8D. [So don't even think of driving up and trying to help the chick be born. Breaking out is part of Nature's process of strengthening its survival chances. The mother isn't picking off the shell, so why would a meddling human hand help?]

MOM: ℹResident Bald Eagle female: Jackie (unbanded) since September 2016. Estimated hatch year: 2012. [So even on the animal plane, guys go for younger chicks?]

How California's largest lake disappeared
(Uncovering) Sep 22, 2023 North America used to have a massive body of water west of the Mississippi called Lake Corcoran where present-day California rests. This massive lake mostly disappeared, but part of it (Tulare Lake) actually remains today, and it grows with every storm and snowmelt. The nation's breadbasket is Central California, a possibly toxic lakebed sprayed with Monsanto Corporation chemicals and petroleum-tainted water for the state's booming economy.

Deep South deep freeze; forest found
It is snowing in Florida, North America's dangling participle, dripping into Trump's Gulf of Mexico America. This used to be the Deep South. (CBS Miami) A major winter storm is moving into northern Florida on Tuesday, bringing what will potentially be record-breaking snowfall totals.

Scientists baffled after finding fossilized frozen forest under ice patches on Beartooth Plateau
Scientists were recently left stunned when they unveiled the remains of a 6,000-year-old forest on the Beartooth Plateau.
The forest was buried in ice and came to the surface because of warming, Earth.com stated. Researchers believe that the forest retreated under ice 5,500 years ago due to a change in solar radiation and volcanic cooling which followed the phenomenon. Findings regarding the long-buried forest have been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
On examination, the fossils were identified to be the remnants of a mature white bark pine forest. As per experts, the forest was once situated at an elevation of 10,000 feet.
Researchers cited the forest as an example of how ecosystems transform due to alterations in the atmosphere. “This is pretty dramatic evidence of ecosystem change due to temperature warming.
It’s an amazing story of how dynamic these systems are,” said David McWethy, one of the study’s authors and an associate professor at Michigan State University's (MSU’s) Department of Earth Sciences. More
'Crazy to see': Parts of Gulf Coast get first-ever blizzard warning

.
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana (Gulf of Mexico) − Portions of the U.S. Gulf Coast saw a first-ever blizzard warning, a wide swath of the Deep South was targeted by a major winter storm, and brutal cold temperatures gripped much of the nation today (Jan. 21, 2025) as the U.S. grappled with wild winter weather.
Stacey Denson, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, told USA TODAY the blizzard warning was a first for Louisiana. A blizzard warning means frequent wind gusts to 35 MPH and snow reducing visibilities to 1/4 mile or less is expected.
"It was pretty crazy to see," Denson said. "It is actually improving a bit, but we had whiteout conditions." More
