Climbing Mt. Kailash: healing hot springs

Risking life on thrilling trek up south face of Mt. Kailash to touch the holy rock
Tibet Travel (Tibet Vista) Nov. 15, 2024: After touching the glaciers and rocks on the northwest slope of Mount Kailash, I headed to the south slope to touch her holiest rock and to worship at the 13 stupas [sacred ลšarฤซra reliquaries] nestled inside the mountain's crevices. Two years ago, I made a wish here to promote the beauty of Tibet and its ancient Vajrayana Buddhist [Hindu and Bon] religious culture, and now I have achieved that.

My followers have grown to over 250,000, and more than 1,000 tourists from around the world have learned about and traveled to Tibet through my videos and traveled with me. This trek up the south slope of Mt. Kailash was incredibly thrilling and dangerous. In August, heavy snow fell from the sky, and I nearly slid off the steep and slippery rocks into a valley more than 50 meters (150 feet) deep. I believe my efforts were worthwhile. As a Tibetan guide, I have successfully led tourists from all over the world in over 60 Kora treks around Mt. Kailash. This is my second successful climb to the 13 stupas on the south slope. The 13 stupas, also known as the "Inner Kora of Mt. Kailash," are the holiest sites for Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims.

If YOU wish to explore Mt. Kailash in depth, I can take you there. It may be dangerous, but you can join me on this adventure for passion and faith, right? I believe in you. Contact me at jamyangtour@gmail.com. I will plan it all with you. Contact: Tibet Vista Jamyang Tour phone: +86 13989918639, email: jamyangtour@gmail.com. WeChat: Jamyang-1234.
ABOUT: I am Jamyang. I have been working as a tour guide with Tibet Vista Tour for 15 years. In 2020, during the Covid-19 global pandemic, I lost my job as a tour guide. With the support of the company, I immersed myself in filming videos and documenting the culture of Tibet. My goal is to share the beautiful landscapes of Tibet, Tibetan culture, and the genuine and enchanting lifestyle of the local Tibetans with people around the world who love and care about my beloved home country of Tibet. If you plan to visit Tibet, be sure to get in touch with me. I can show you the best and most authentic Tibet.

The Most Peaceful Place on Earth

Namo Buddha: The Most Peaceful Place on Earth (documentary)
(Isha lifestyle) Dec. 12, 2025: This documentary is a dedicated tribute to the Buddhist monks of Namo Buddha Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery in Nepal.

Where is peace? [Home?] How do we find it?
High in the Himalayas, this sacred place is not just a destination—it is a spiritual home where ancient [Vajrayana] traditions are kept alive.

I created this film to honor their way of life and share the profound peace of this holy site.

๐Ÿ™ SUPPORT THE MONASTERY AND SPONSOR A BUDDHIST MONK/NUN: This video was made to support the community at Namo Buddha. If this journey touched you, please consider supporting them either by visiting the monastery or directly right now. Sponsorship helps provide food, education, and healthcare for kids, monks, and nuns.
The Legend of Namo Buddha
I'm so hungry that I can't feed my cubs.
Located in the Kathmandu Valley, Namo Buddha is one of the holiest pilgrimage sites in Nepal. It is the place where, according to legend, the historical Buddha [as the Bodhisattva] in a previous life sacrificed [parts of] his body to feed a starving tigress and her cubs [Mankiala]. This [unlikely but legendary] act of supreme compassion (karuแน‡ฤ) echoes through the monastery to this day.

Trekking: Hiking to Padma's Valley

Hiking into Padmasambhava's hidden valley: A pilgrimage with Geshe Tenzin Zopa
Padmasambhava looms large in the Himalayas
(Enter The Mandala) In April 2025, we visited the construction of the World Peace Stupa in Tsum Valley, Nepal. This was the first time we made the journey by foot rather than by helicopter. We were led by Tibetan Buddhist monk Geshe Tenzin Zopa, retracing the route he had walked many times as a child. We hope that through this video viewers can join us in experiencing the blessings of this sacred land. Music at end is "Snow Flower" by Tenzin Choegyal.
Trek, hike, climb, and focus on the breath.
The Tsum Valley Trek
goes to the remotest Himalayan region in Nepal which was once restricted as visitors were kept out. The Tsum Valley lies at the far northern side of Gorkha District in Nepal.

The valley gets its fame from being a sacred place blessed by Padmasambhava (Guru Rimpoche), misunderstood to be one of the "incarnations" of Lord Buddha [as if a buddha were ever reborn, having by definition already overcome ALL rebirth, suffering, and cyclical "becoming" in samsara, more likely a bodhisattva striving to become Maitreya Buddha].

Padmasambhava (Hemis Gompa)
Buddhists revere this place as sacred, and most living in this region follow the Tibetan form of Vajrayana Buddhism infused with remnants of Bon shamanism. The valley lies in the lap of Ganesh Himal and offers the best view of surrounding areas with a good contrast to glistening peaks in the background. Other peaks like Singi Himal and Himal Chuli may also be observed up close during this trek.

China and India preparing for war (WSJ)

A billion people here, another billion there
(WSJ) How China is quietly bracing for war with India
. Pakistan is delighted. How much money will Israel and its affiliated arms dealers make from selling weapons in this conflict? How will the CIA angle for long-term advantage (full spectrum dominance) in the region? And does the 14th Dalai Lama regret taking sides and affiliating himself with The Company (aka the CIA)?

The Cosmic Buddha Cave? (Ancient Aliens)

Underground alien connections: Esoteric encounters | Ancient Aliens

There's nothing under us but dark dirt
(HISTORY) May 15, 2025:  Enlightenment by spelunking? Welcome to the Hollow Earth civilization of Agartha (the original Mexican Atzlan or European Atlantis?) Is that you, ฤ€kฤล›agarbha Bodhisattva (Kokลซzล Bosatsu)? Shingon (Esoeric) Buddhism is closely related to Vedic Hinduism.

Shingon (็œŸ่จ€ๅฎ—, Shingon-shลซ, "True Word/Mantra School") is one of the major schools of Buddhism in Japan and one of the few surviving Vajrayana lineages in East Asian Buddhism. It is a form of Japanese Esoteric Buddhism and is sometimes called Tลmitsu (ๆฑๅฏ† literally, "Esoteric [Buddhism] of Tล-ji") [1].

The word shingon is the Japanese reading of the Chinese word ็œŸ่จ€ (zhฤ“nyรกn) [2], which is the translation of the Sanskrit word mantra, which means something like "thought instrument" (Japanese "true words" or om'yomi).

The Zhฤ“nyรกn lineage was founded in China (circa 7th–8th centuries) by Indian vajrฤcฤryas ("esoteric teachers") like ลšubhakarasiแนƒha, Vajrabodhi, and Amoghavajra.

These esoteric teachings would later flourish in Japan under the auspices of a Buddhist monk named Kลซkai (็ฉบๆตท, 774–835), who traveled to Tang China and received these esoteric transmissions from a Chinese master named Huiguo (746–805).

Kลซkai established his tradition at Mount Kลya (in Wakayama Prefecture), which remains the central pilgrimage center of Shingon Buddhism. More

Turn on, tune in, drop out: The Hippie Trail

The Hippie Trail: The Story of the Original Travel Influencers

Our quest will take us high up to the very top
(Alive & Curious) Who were the original travel influencers? This is the story of the Hippie Trail, the ultimate road trip of the 1960s and 70s, a countercultural odyssey that saw free-spirited travelers journeying overland from the U.S. and Europe to Asia in search of enlightenment and adventure.

The journey usually began in Western cities like London, Amsterdam, and West Berlin (with plenty others coming from New York and Los Angeles, San Francisco and New Jersey) before weaving through Istanbul and venturing into Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and finally Freak Street in Nepal.

Natural class of drugs
Entheogens are mind-expanding drugs that are capable of bringing out the divine that resides within. More than mere drugs and far from pharmaceuticals, these natural substances (like DMT, bufomagic mushrooms, a fungus synthesized as LSD, harmaline, and even cannabis in some uses) may have been the lure -- along with the promise of "free love" -- of the Hippie Trail:

The Hippie Trail: West to East

Bamiyan was a destination the CIA/ISI blew up
The Hippie Trail (or Overland) was a land journey taken by members of the hippie subculture and others from the mid-1950s, all through the 1960s, to the late 1970s [2], travelling from Europe and West Asia through South Asia via countries such as
American hippies ruined by Pres. Dick Nixon
The Hippie Trail was a form of alternative (sometimes spiritual) tourism. One of the key elements was travelling as cheaply as possible (on a shoestring, with a knapsack, rucksack, or backpack and a big thumb), mainly to extend the length of time away from home.

Pres. Dick Nixon killed Freak St.

This is part of the trail that started in the U.S.
The term "hippie" became current in the mid-to-late 1960s; "beatnik" (BG) was the previous term from the later 1950s, when everyone was reading Jack Kerouac's Buddhism-infused The Dharma Bums.
At every major stop of the Hippie Trail, there were cheap hotels, cozy restaurants, and far out cafรฉs for Westerners, who networked with each other as they travelled West and East.

These hippies tended to interact more with the local population than traditional sightseers did [1], really wanting to experience each location fully.

Old Freak Street, Kathmandu, Nepal
The Hippie Trail largely ended in the late 1970s primarily due to both the Iranian Revolution resulting in an anti-Western government, and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, closing the route to Western travelers [4, 5, 1, 6].

Nowadays, a handful of overlanders, van-dwellers, and adventure travelers follow roughly the route of the old Hippie Trail [7, 8] -- destination Freak Street (Jhochhen Tole). More

Hannah: Buddhism's Untold Journey (hannah)
(Kino Lorber) Hannah: Buddhism’s Untold Journey tells the story of Hannah Nydahl and her adventure bringing Tibetan Buddhism to the West.

Hannah: Buddhism's Untold Journey - Hannah
This is where in 1968 they became two of the first Western students of His Holiness the 16th Karmapa (Rangjung Rigpe Dorje) -- the first consciously reincarnated (tulku) lama of Tibet, and the man who would change their lives forever.

At the heart of the film lies the unique and inspiring love story of Hannah and Ole and their unwavering dedication to bring Buddhism to the West.

Baseball begins, LA (Buddhist Bhutan)

America brings us hegemony I mean baseball.
Hegemony means cultural influence. The USA may have too much of it. Buddhists in Bhutan, the last Himalayan Buddhist kingdom, play baseball in front of the giant Buddha Dordenma statue in the capital Thimphu, and MLB couldn't be happier.

Buddhist Bhutan obsessed with Western sports

The Cup (Bhutanese film)
The Cup
(Tibetan เฝ•ོเฝข་เฝ”། or Phรถrpa) is a Tibetan-language film written and directed by Khyentse Norbu in his feature directorial debut. It's about two young football-crazed Tibetan refugee novice Buddhist monks who desperately try to get a television for their remote Himalayan Buddhist monastery so they can watch the 1998 FIFA World Cup final. Though not nominated, The Cup was Bhutan's first-ever submission for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.

In the Buddhist mountains of the world's most remote country, baseball takes hold

(MLB) High up in the Himalayas between Tibet and [Buddhist] India sits the small Buddhist country [former kingdom] of Bhutan.

Sometimes known as the world's last Shangri-La, this nation of snowy alpine peaks and untouched mountain streams has fewer than 700,000 people who call it home. Yet, what is perhaps the most remote country in the world is on its way to being a baseballing nation, growing from a few dozen kids playing on a concrete slab after school to more than 6,000 children who are fast becoming baseball fanatics despite few having ever seen a Major League game.
Bhutan Baseball and Softball Association (X)
"Everything from the friendship I grew with my father to my brothers to everyone in my town growing up, it was all based around baseball," Matthew DeSantis, the co-founder and chairman of the Bhutan Baseball and Softball Association told me during a recent visit to New York.

Why are American so rich and pretty? Maybe

Angelic Shohei Ohtani used to get the US girls
"From a community perspective in Bhutan, it was a way for me to both be involved stronger, and also to give something back that I thought the kids would love and connect over," Matt went on to say.

Soft-spoken and thoughtful, the American was dressed in a warm brown gho -- a robe cloth that is part of the national dress, the traditional Bhutanese garb, on the day we met.

Though his trip to capitalist New York brought him close to where he grew up in nearby Wilton, Connecticut, one got the feeling that Buddhist Bhutan is where he always belonged.

Paro Taktsang, Tiger's Nest Monastery, Bhutan
Oddly enough, baseball wasn’t how DeSantis first discovered the small Himalayan country, but rather its young leader, Prince Dasho Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, whom he met on the school basketball team while attending Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford.

(Bhutan is now a parliamentary democracy, but the royal family still holds its titles -- similar to the monarchy in England).

After DeSantis’ first three weeks in Bhutan, where he trekked through the dense and pristine southern rainforest and stayed in roadless villages, he decided to move there for good.

Tibetans reborn white in America
Reborn in America, 1973, after being killed by Chinese in Tibet in 1960.
Tibet was once a Himalayan empire made up of 25% Buddhist monastics:

married a Bhutanese woman to access pure herbs for his tonic concoctions, which he used to sell from a tea shop in Santa Monica, California: Dragon Herbs
  • Bhutan used to be one of the hardest countries in the world to visit, due to severe limits on visas (and a necessary commitment to spend hundreds of US dollars a day when visiting) to keep it pristine and to limit hegemony and decadent outside influences. It's stilly pricey: MyBhutan

Rich Ron married Bhutanese beauty for access
It was while founding the tech company and luxury travel operator MyBhutan, which helped visitors explore the region, that DeSantis met Karma Dorji.

Dorji, now the president of the Bhutan baseball association, "had a strong passion to bring sports to the kids and make it accessible and free."

Shohei Ohtani dating Cal Berkeley's K Dung?
They had no grand design on establishing a baseball association, though: The two simply loved baseball. DeSantis learned the game back in America, while Dorji fell in love while attending the World Children's Baseball Fair in Japan. They wanted to offer it to the children who lived nearby the military barracks in Thimphu. More: mlb.com
