Jackie and Shadow returned to "the birds and the bees," making love, making a nest, and making more eggs to produce the miracle of more garudas (avian eagle beings also called suparnas).

Looking at the newly fortified nest after last year's marathon viewing show, one of the eggs was confirmed to have cracked on Friday (Friends of Big Bear Valley/YouTube).

Humans reenact the squawking of BB eagles

One of the hatchlings (chicks, babies, fledglings, carnivorous raptors) is missing in the snow. The storms pounding Los Angeles with hail, graupel, and freezing rain is dumping snow high atop Big Bear Lake. And at least 50 feet above that sits Eagle Jackie and her mate Shadow, the couple pampering their newborns with slaughtered trout, crow, duck, and warm vomit. Ah, Nature. 

One baby, two babies, where's the third eaglet?!

But tragedy has struck. Not only was the runt late and being constantly bonked by Brutus, the big one, to establish the nest's pecking order, now one of the three is feared gone, either cannibalized or thrown from the nest for hygiene among the corpses and mortal remains of the prey littering the well-arranged sticks.

Seven thousand feathers keep Jackie warm, sitting on her brood or clutch or nursery. Maybe a park ranger should climb the tree and shove the mother off her young so we can count them and feel better about our nosy curiosity about the mysterious ways of Nature and its blood smeared beaks and talons. Is it any wonder the dragons (nagas, reptilians) fear the garudas (suparnas, avians)

There's been progress. A pip has been detected, a quickening that inspires the other chicks in their embryonic shells to get with the pecking and break out. Although it is 18 degrees up at Big Bear Lake above LA, the eggs are warm by the vigilance of the parents, Jackie and Shadow, and everything looks good for the birth of three baby bald eagles. It makes one proud to be a Native American and watch respect for nature rub off on the cam jamming Lone Ranger man filming the birds in their element.

The avian garuda (suparna) ET bird-people

We are starting Pip Watch on March 1st, when Egg1 is 38 days old, looking for the first signs of hatching (the first little hole being called a pip).

We may notice subtle changes in Jackie and Shadow’s behavior, such as becoming more attentive to the eggs.

Since Jackie is practicing delayed incubation, we may not see anything yet but will keep our eyes glued to all three eggs, [except for the runt. Who cares about him? Have you seen the price of a dozen of these? Make my murder morning mash of fowl fetuses too expensive to fry!]

The initial pip usually looks like a small bump, often shaped like a star, and is only visible when the camera is zoomed in. The eggs may have some dirt smudges or fluff stuck on them, which are not to be mistaken for pips.

You Eat Other Animals? | Sci-Fi Comedy Short Film | Vegan Aliens

(Wily Films) Here is a sci-fi comedy in which two happy-go-lucky earthling human men are being taken to an alien planet of untold wonders and pleasures when their female vegan hosts learn a stomach-churning truth about earthlings. Starring Evanna Lynch, Anna Ballantine, James Eeles, and Michael Jinks, and an after-credits scene. Please refrain from pirating this film, which would be stealing from animal charities.

This short comedy was inspired by a claim that chickens were slaughtered towards the end of their natural lives. I tried to keep it fun rather than laboring points (like pigs being super smart and the most intelligent victims on the farm).

People seem keen to let me know when they think I've failed, but clips from the film have had tens of millions of views across socials, and at least one person stopped eating meat after watching it (the biggest win).

The reference to Chinese, like the reference to the Japanese and Canadians, refers to current inhabitants (specifically to the Yulin Dog Meat Festival) rather than the Han (the largest ethnic group in China).

Common arguments against veganism

I didn't address these arguments in the film as I was unaware people used them to justify their support for animal suffering and slaughter (while the beautiful and advanced aliens are surprised earthlings would still eat animals).

"Other animals eat animals!" 

Other animals have no choice, lack moral reasoning or agency, and act on instinct. Other animals routinely commit infanticide (eating others' babies), while some eat their young (their own babies). Should humans? I mean, why waste all that "protein"?

The logic of basing our behavior on what other animals do is clearly flawed, or we should have no compunction about killing and eating babies with our genitalia hanging out (which is frowned upon yet no one tells the other animals anything about it).

The scientific consensus is that a meat-free diet is the healthiest with research dating to the 1960s (Adventists). The Southern States also made similar arguments for maintaining slavery: that it's perfectly "natural" (Stephens). Slavery existed for millennia and the majority thought it fine so, clearly, neither a historical norm nor the majority view is necessarily the correct or moral one. Rather, your ethics are likely formed by cultural ethical relativism (Einstein referred to meat eaters as being imprisoned by delusion). 

"Eating plants is no better!"

Be kind, Humans.

This runs along the lines of plants being "alive", "sentient" or having "feelings". Plants are alive but are not sentient and do not have feelings. If you can't see the difference between a cow and cowslip please read this paper - ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti... - which debunks the research that has led to some meat eaters claiming plant sentience in a desperate attempt at deflection (while ignoring that more human-edible crops go to feeding livestock than directly to humans). It is worth noting that trees bear fruit specifically to be eaten (no livestock wants us to eat them), while the argument that eating one life form is no worse than eating any other life form is to also argue people should be eating golden retrievers: calling vegans hypocrites for distinguishing between the plant and animal kingdoms while distinguishing between different orders of mammal is absurd. Indeed, this whole argument is so embarrassingly inane I'm surprised I have to address it. #evannalynch #vegan #scifi #comedy

"Animals are killed growing crops!"

Animals are killed harvesting crops though the data is poor (they count populations before and after harvesting so do not account for animals that simply leave when the combine harvester approaches). However, not only is killing animals not the purpose of arable farming (and tens of billions more animals are killed in animal agriculture each year) but more human-edible crops go to feeding livestock than (directly) to feeding humans, so meat eaters are still responsible for more of these deaths than vegans (even before the animals are slaughtered for their meat). If you're concerned about creatures being chopped up, veganism would be the best course.

To be the Goddess, Planet Wild's bear cub

We can save the world or at least this planet.

One needn't be a girl or a goddess to be a nurturer, a steward of Planet Earth, the Goddess Gaia (Bhumi, Tierra, Terra, Urth). Planet Wild is doing it by human power. As much as people think Buddhism is atheistic because it does not bow to some "creator God," it is actually nontheistic and polytheistic. There are many gods (devas), Gods (brahmas) and Great Brahma, and GOD (the impersonal/transpersonal Brahman) or "godhead" like the Vedic religion of old or modern Hinduism talk about. The celestial bodies are all deified (likely because ET visitors said they were from there or were rulers of those places visible in the night sky).

In the Jataka (Rebirth) Tales of the Buddha, a kind of collection of Aesop Fables (with a strong moral to each story, which always seems to be the same moral -- what the person did in this life that person did in a previous life/lives), he recounts being reborn as the deity of the Moon (Soma) and Sun (Surya) multiple times, as were others close to him. Did he mean he was the ruler there, the embodiment, or a deity (deva) from there named after that world? It seems that when Dr. Steven Greer, MD of Disclosure Project, Sirius Disclosure, and Gaia TV, says that "Earth" is literally a female deity, he is onto something. He has some reason for believing it and saying so other than others having said so. If we can be reborn as devas (shining ones, light beings), and we can, we can theoretically be born into the role of Mother Earth, the Goddess Gaia, Bhumi, or Tierra, just as Sakka King of the Devas was reborn as the king of the World of the Thirty-Three and the Realm of the Four Great Sky Kings, the two worlds immediately above the human plane.
