BabyMetal a joke? Japanese girl metal

Maybe the strange form of Buddhism that thrives in Japan due to the preexisting practice of Shintoism (kami veneration cults), like Babymetal's "Fox God," explains the form of Zen (Chan Buddhism) and Nicherin Buddhism on the powerful island.
Shaman/Shinto priest placates kami
When Buddhism reached the Far East, its Zen architecture evolved to an extraordinary level of perfection—one that seamlessly harmonizes with the elements of nature. In Japan, it encountered the ancient world of the kami, the spiritual forces of animistic Shintoism. This meeting gave rise to a unique architectural fusion—a never-before-seen blend of sacred styles, where Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines began to echo one another, reflecting a profound spiritual and cultural syncretism.

Babymetal were a JOKE until they conquered metal

(The Heaviest Show in the Universe) Premiered Nov. 16, 2025: Metal laughed at them — until Babymetal made the world bow. Babymetal was once laughed out of the metal world. Critics said they were a manufactured pop gimmick. But they didn’t quit. They conquered Download Festival, Sonisphere, and the global stage. In this episode of The Heaviest Show in the Universe, we break down how Babymetal went from novelty to legend.

Zohran sticks it to Trump, Cuomo, Musk

Older generation of Bibi/Trump-worshipping Zionist Jews in agony: "But WE own this city!"

Now that The WQ Oracle is officially psychic and able to successfully predict wins, we have to extend a special thank you to hated Dictator Trump and Madman Musk for backing corrupt sexual harasser Andy Cuomo. New Yorkers hate Trump and Cuomo, and most love breath-of-fresh-air Mamdani, who is for all the people, including Brooklyn's massive Jewish population, the largest in US.

Reason 'Mike Johnson Grindr' is trending
(Keith Edwards) Mike Johnson Grindr Johnson gets heckled live in post-disaster press conference, lying about who closed down the government, trying to blame Democrats when everyone knows it was the Trump administration. Gerrymandering, California's Prop. 50 (temporary redistricting will hurt Trump's third re-election dream), Muslim Mayor Mamdani, and a member of Congress (Arizona's Adelita Grijalva) is still being kept from her office and official swearing in so she can vote for what the people want and demand: Release the Epstein Files!

Kimmel more popular than Trump: poll

Trump is less popular than Kimmel, rants about Osama bin Laden, wants his face on money
(Jimmy Kimmel Live) Oct. 6, 2025: The show is back after a fun week of shows in Brooklyn, according to a new poll from YouGov Jimmy is officially more popular than Donald Trump, the White House put out a statement in response, 77% of Americans want the Epstein files released, Kaitlan Collins from CNN asked Trump whether he planned to pardon Epstein’s right-hand woman Ghislaine Maxwell...

Trump rallied troops over the weekend to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Navy, he took credit for saying that Osama bin Laden was a threat before 9/11, a federal judge last night blocked Trump from sending the California National Guard to Oregon, he is also threatening NBC over some things Al Sharpton had to say about him, the Treasury Department is talking about putting Trump on money, and we went out to a park in Jamaica, Queens and told folks that Trump was planning to rename the park in his honor. #Kimmel

Path to Nirvana; WQ reaches milestone

Here, Johnson poses at the opening green carpet for the 21st Zurich Film Festival on Sept. 25, 2025, in Zurich, Switzerland (Andreas Rentz, Getty Images for ZFF)

.
Dakota Johnson was a vision in blue at the Zurich Film Festival, and her jaw-dropping, see-through Gucci gown stole the spotlight. Johnson was on stage at the screening of her latest film, "Splitsville," at the 2025 Zurich Film Festival on Sept. 25, 2025, in Zurich, Switzerland. Artistic Director of the ZFF Christian Jungen awarded Johnson the Golden Eye Award during the screening. More:

Blue is the color, invisible to the ancients
Blue is the color. It represents a kind of cosmic intelligence or wisdom, to the extent any color (rate of vibration or frequency) can convey resonance or a mood. The seven main chakras (energy nexuses or "wheels") along the spine represent the aspirations of humans.

We go from the base (muladhara) with our coiled energy waiting to be expressed, where we ground ourselves, aspiring upwards to release (spiritual liberation) at the crown chakra. They are called wheels because they are turning, guiding kundalini energy upward.

Milestone

What the students wrote
What is the milestone? It is another tremendous mass of views. Without realizing it, Wisdom Quarterly: American Buddhist Journal crossed yet another big tick on the ticker. With each such bundle of hits or views, most of them taking place in just the past month, we are filled with gratitude for our enlightened teacher and his successful American student (to preserve her privacy, let's call her Kalyani, the noble friend), who are inspirations that we, too, can attain such things as are described in the Buddhist texts, particularly the Abhidhamma preserved and made practical in little known Burmese Theravada tradition of the great Pa Auk Sayadaw. (All forms of Buddhism may be beautiful and exotic, counterintuitive and koan-like, but how many produce enlightenment and liberation, bodhi and nirvana, in this very life?) However, in our worldly foolishness, we tend to intellectualize everything. And for that we have our root teacher, American JuBu Bhikkhu Bodhi (BAUS.org).

What is the Path to Enlightenment?
Dhr. Seven, Ashley Wells (ed.), Wisdom Quarterly

Seven energy-wheels or chakras of the body
The "path" (Pali magga, Sanskrit marga) may be summarized in many ways. Because Buddhism as recorded in ancient, memorized recitations (the oral tradition of proto-India before most people read and wrote), there are lists. So it's fun to play with them so long as one knows the map is not the terrain, only an indicator along the way. If only ONE thing were needed to awaken to enlightenment (bodhi), that
  1. one thing would be insight (wisdom, direct knowing-and-seeingpanna, Sanskrit prajna).
  2. If the list had two things: Serenity (jhanas) and Mindfulness (satipatthana) producing liberating wisdom.
  3. Three things: Compassion, Tranquility, and Mindful Attention to the Four Foundations.
  4. Four things: The Four Ennobling Truths. ("Noble" = Aryan = "Enlightening").
  5. Five things: Finding a suitable teacher, giving ear, mental attention, applying oneself, and perseverance until success.
  6. Six things: Sitting, calming, absorption (jhana), emerging, and immediately mindfully placing attention on phenomena (ultimate mentality and materiality, discerning cittas and kalapas), and reflecting.
  7. Seven things: The Seven Factors of Enlightenment.
  8. Eight things: The Ennobling Eightfold Path....
  9. Thirty-seven things: (The Seven Requisites of Enlightenment or the bodhipakkhiyādhammā, all the key things, or dhamma, the historical Buddha taught pertaining to awakening that leads to knowing nirvana).

Luigi Mangione not to be charged

Man accused of killing healthcare CEO will NOT face state terrorism-related murder charges, but other charges will stand

People's hero or future model?
Handsome accused killer Luigi Mangione scored a major legal victory today (Tuesday, 9/16/25) as a judge dismissed the two top state charges against him, first-degree murder and second-degree murder, both of which prosecutors had argued were "terrorism" crimes.

Mangione still faces an additional second-degree murder charge, as well as a federal murder charge, in the killing [execution, assassination] of United HealthCare executive Brian Thompson last December.

I'm super smart, so I'll shoot this thief...
The overseer of Mangione’s state criminal case, Judge Gregory Carro, said “the evidence put forth was legally insufficient” for the two terrorism-related charges, in a written decision that was posted during a 15-minute proceeding in Manhattan court on Tuesday.

I got away by bike; my brows brought me down
“Counts one and two, charging [the] defendant with murder in the first degree (in furtherance of an act of terrorism) and murder in the second degree as a crime of terrorism, are dismissed as legally insufficient,” Judge Carro wrote. “The people presented legally sufficient evidence of all other counts, including murder in the second degree (intentional).” More
COMMENTARY: "Deny, Defend, Depose"
Luigi Mangione, "the hero of the people"
Kill our TVs before they kill us with PR?
"He's so good looking, he could get away with murder," people say. Deny Defend Depose, the profit-driven insurance companies insist. Are the killers getting more handsome, or is it just me? Sweet, super smart shooters, why? Bonnie and Clyde were popular American figures, Jewish mafiosos who brought down Italian ones by selling them out to the Feds and destroying some families by working with the American government...and we as a population are cheering for more missiles to Ukraine, Gaza, Israel, Palestine, Yemen, Iran, Venezuela...like we just can't keep our missiles in the Pentagon's pants.

Race may play a role in these murder cases, because today the Menendez Brothers, stars of a documentary that almost got them released from prison, lost their bid to retry the case. Now their only hope for release is California Gov. Newsom. (What's in it for him since he intends to run for president and doesn't want to be accused of being "soft on crime"?) And in three years, they can go back to the prison board to petition for release.

How the Buddha became a Christian saint

How the Buddha became a Christian saint
The Golden Legend
From the 11th century onwards, the Legend of Barlaam and Josaphat enjoyed wide popularity in the medieval West attained perhaps by no other legend.

It was available in over 60 versions in the main languages of Europe, the Christian East, and Africa. It was most familiar to English readers from its inclusion in William Caxton’s 1483 translation of the Golden Legend.

Little did European readers know that the story they loved about the life of Saint Josaphat was in fact that of Prince Siddhartha Gautama, who [at age 35] awakened to become the Buddha, "the Enlightened One," the founder of Buddhism.
  • Albert Einstein prays for inspiration
This can't be true, can it? Barlaam and Josaphat: The story of Barlaam and Josaphat is a Christianized and later version of the story of Siddhartha Gautama, who became the Buddha at age 35 [2]. The [Jataka] tale derives from a 2nd to 4th century Sanskrit Mahayana Buddhist text, via a Manichaean version [3], then the Arabic Kitāb Bilawhar wa-Būd̠āsaf ("Book of Bilawhar and Budhasaf"), current in Baghdad, Iraq (formerly Mesopotamia) in the 8th century, from where it entered into Middle Eastern Christian circles before appearing in European versions. More
The ascetic life
According to the legend, there once reigned in India a king called Abenner [King Suddhodana in Theravada Buddhist texts known as the Pali canon], immersed in the pleasures of the world.

When the king had a son, Josaphat [the Bodhisat or "Being-bent-on-supreme-enlightenment"], an astrologer predicted that he would forsake the world.

To forestall this outcome, the king his father ordered a city [the three seasonal capitals of Kapilavatthu] to be built for his son from which were excluded [any reminders of] poverty, disease, old age, and death.

But [the Prince] Josaphat [eventually] made journeys outside of the city, where he encountered, on one occasion, a blind man and a horribly deformed one and, on another occasion, an old man weighed down by illness. He realized the [radical] impermanence of all things:

"No longer is there any sweetness in this transitory life now that I have seen these things… Gradual and sudden death are in league together."

While experiencing this spiritual crisis, the sage Barlaam from Sri Lanka reached Josaphat and told him of the rejection of worldly pursuits and the acceptance of the Christian ideal of the ascetic life.

Prince Josaphat was converted to Christianity [which took its monasticism from Buddhism, which preceded it by at least six centuries] and began to practice the ideal of the spiritual life of poverty, simplicity, and devotion to God [Brahman, the "Ultimate Reality"].

See Led Zep's Robert Plant live (5/6)

I like me a bit of Zen on me own without the lads. Wish Jimmy had played on more tracks.
.

I'll never get old but will just get better.
Who? There's this British guy, a old hippie, who became famous for his bluesy caterwauling in front of Jimmy Page's magnificent guitar work. Robert Plant was the frontman for the biggest rock band in the world (ahead of pop stars like The Beatles, The Stones, The Black Flag, and LA's own Wasted Youth, plus a million other small bands few have ever heard of). The great thing about Plant was not just that he was a good singer and a rockstar, but rather that he may have written some intelligent lyrics for the band, words akin to the intelligent stuff Pink Floyd was putting out in London's Acid Scene in the Sixties.

Robert Plant's Carry Fire
Has been Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin fame plays live, even though most of the world has not seen him. They'd like to, of course, but that's assuming he's backed by Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham. That reunion may take a while. However, Plant is singing live for an audience in May 2025.

It's a hit: "APT." Rose ft. Bruno Mars

Rosé poses with blonde curly hair, gazing at the camera for her solo album cover Rosie
.
Bruno Mars is a second-rate drummer but a darn good singer as he tries to outshine a phenom named Rose (New Zealander/South Korean of K-Pop supergroup Blackpink) in "APT." a mega hit that deserves a listen or is worthy of being put on rotation for constant replay. Step aside, Princess Olivia, and never mind, Consort Doja. Wow, Rose is a rocker with her brash pronunciations and catchy lyricism. It's like she swallowed Britney's spunk with a Shakira chaser.
