Puppet Katy Perry: How to be a star

HOW TO BE AN INDUSTRY PUPPET: THE KATY PERRY STRATEGY

(Jay Diggs) How to be an industry  puppet: the Katy Perry (Catty Purry) strategy. "Rusty Brandy, Baby, what is a Faustian bargain?" - "I want a divorce!" - "O.K., Hubby, but what is it?"

How did she get her record contract, and how do I get the same deal?
.
What is a Katy Perry?

I just wanna be Kate Hudson again
Katy Lizzy Hud's Son (Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, born Oct. 25, 1984), known professionally as "Katy Perry," is a Hollywood product, an American singer, songwriter, and goofy TV personality.

Known for her influence on pop music and her camp style, she has been dubbed the "Queen of Camp" by Vogue and Rolling Stone.

At age 16, Perry released her unsuccessful gospel album Katy Hudson (2001) under Red Hill Records. After moving to Los Angeles, she signed to Hollywood's Capitol Records and rose to fame with the pop rock album One of the Boys (2008).

Its lesbian bisexual anthem and lead single "I Kissed a Girl" topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Perry's moist, disco-influenced pop record Teenage Dream (2010) became -- ka-ching! -- the only album by a woman to spawn five U.S. number-one singles:
  1. "California Gurls"
  2. "Teenage Dream"
  3. "Firework"
  4. "E.T."
  5. "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"
Momma, don't preach. I don't need your and Dad's stupid religious beliefs holding me back.
.
It helps having really big boobs, huge like these
Its sugarcoated reissue, subtitled The Complete Confection (2012), produced the U.S. Number 1 single "Part of Me."

The dance-inspired Prism (2013) yielded two U.S. Number 1 singles, "Roar" and "Dark Horse."

Perry's subsequent albums, Witness (2017), Smile (2020), and 143 (2024), were mostly duds and met with varied critical and commercial success.

Now mostly a laughingstock, Perry is still one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated sales of over 151 million records worldwide. She has seven diamond certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America.

The world's highest-paid female musician in 2015 and 2018, she was named by Billboard one of the greatest pop stars of the 21st century. As proof, her accolades include:
  • 20 Guinness World Records,
  • 5 Billboard Music Awards,
5 American Music Awards (including the Special Achievement Award),
  • 1 Brit Award,
  • 1 Juno Award, and
  • 7 MTV Video Music Awards (including the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award).
Perry was the first artist to have multiple videos reach one billion views on YouTube.

With an estimated net worth of $360 million, she is among the world's wealthiest musicians.

I told you I literally sold my soul to the Devil.
Outside of music, Perry released an autobiographical documentary titled Katy Perry: Part of Me in 2012, voiced Smurfette in The Smurfs film series (2011–2013), launched her own shoe line Katy Perry Collections in 2017, and flew into space aboard Blue Origin NS-31 in 2025.

She served as a judge on American Idol from the 16th season in 2018 to the 22nd season in 2024. She is an advocate for LGBT rights and women's rights, and she was named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2013.

Her philanthropy and activism focus on children's education and HIV/AIDS awareness. More

The Buddha or Goenka's Vipassana?

(Buddha's Wisdom) GOENKA: The man who removed Buddhism from Buddhism?

Do it yourself at home the U Ba Khin way
The Goenka Method (of U Ba Khin) provides some practical advice for practicing systematic mindfulness (sati) of the body, one of the four crucial elements in the setting up of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness (Satipatthana), a practice necessary for "insight" (vipassana). Is it the only method? No. Is it the most effective method? Who can say, as it varies from individual to individual. Is it an effective method? Without sufficient stillness, calm, samadhi, absorption (jhana), it seems to Wisdom Quarterly that it is not. The claim is that practicing vipassana can produce its own mild forms of "access concentration" without needed full absorption. This will at best be a very weak and sketchy foundation of sila and samma-samadhi, virtue and "right samadhi." Samadhi is crucial and cannot be skipped over with the ideal of "dry insight" being enough for this decadent age.

Who is this Goenka guy?
Let go. Stop clinging. Be free right now.
S. N. Goenka (Satya Narayana, Satyanārāyaṇa Gōyaṅkā, Burmese ဦးဂိုအင်ကာ) lived from Jan. 30, 1924–Sept. 29, 2013. He was an Indian Burmese businessman and teacher of Buddhist insight (vipassanā) meditation.

Born in neighboring Burma to an Indian family, he learned vipassana from Sayagyi U Ba Khin (Int'l Meditation Centre, Rangoon).

It's never too early or too late to practice.
Goenka-jii (an honorific added out of great respect) retired from business in 1962, during a period of business nationalization by the military junta in Burma, then moved to India in 1969 to start teaching vipassana meditation.

His teachings are secular and therefore stay away from anything that might appear to be rites or rituals and instead emphasize that Buddha's path to liberation, which was non-sectarian, universal, and scientific (rational) in character.

This led to vipassana meditation appealing to people of all religions as well as no religion, theists, nontheists, atheists, and agnostics, from all parts of the world, East and West.
  • Vipassana, in the Burmese Theravada Buddhist tradition, is derived from the Abhidhamma (as taught by the Buddha to the monk he declared "foremost in wisdom" Ven. Śāriputra [27, 28]).
  • Although some Burmese teachers hold that vipassana and Abhidhamma study are inseparable [29], Goenka invited students to consider the theoretical aspects of these Teachings (pariyatti), advising them that the most important aspect of the technique is its practice (paṭipatti), contrasting mere book learning from experiential learning.
  • Students are free to accept the theoretical background or reject any part they find objectionable.
  • Goenka reported the words of the Buddha as follows [30]: "Filled with these compassionate and loving thoughts, [the Buddha] proclaimed: Apārutā tesaṃ amatassa dvārā Ye sotavanto pamuñcantu saddhaṃ "Open are the gates of the deathless state to those with ears [to hear] who renounce their lack of [confidence]," that is to say:
  • "Open are the gates of Nirvana so that people who hear and practice will be able to overcome all doubt," which is one of the Five Mental Hindrances.
Free 10-day course
I thought I'd join a 10-day course, get enlightened, then go get my nails done. Boy, was I wrong.
.
Four Foundations begin with the body breathing
Mr. Goenka became an influential teacher and played an important role in establishing non-commercial vipassana meditation centers globally where vipassana meditation is taught as a free 10-day residential program with no charges for food, lodging, or meditation instruction, with centers funded by voluntary donations from "old" (past and present) meditators.
  • How could it possibly be free? It is non-commercial. The rule is that only "old" students (who have completed at least one course) are allowed to donate. "New" students (who have not yet completed at least one course) are not allowed to donate. Donations are accepted after the completion of a course, which everyone qualifies to donate to at the end of each course, so there's never really a time when centers are open to donations and not accepting them. As soon as they are open to accepting dana (donations, gifts, charity), everyone present who just completed the course can give. Give what? Dāna
Goenka was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the government of India in 2012, an award bestowed for distinguished service of a high order.
Meeting Goenka-jii in person
The kalyana-mitta S.N. Goenka and his wife
(Wisdom Quarterly was fortunate enough to meet S. N. Goenka, 88, and his lovely wife when they were invited to the Dhammakaya Meditation Center in Azusa, Los Angeles, for a lunch in his honor and to receive an award for service to humanity, circa 2012. This was just as the Aztec Calendar was wrapping a cycle and the world was about to end, with few people noticing that a new cycle and new world would immediately be continuing. He seemed very kind, and not nearly as Dracula-like as one might think from hearing his droning, baritone Transylvanian/Indian accent on the standardized tapes played during all free 10-day courses). More

Lust for child sex star Brooke Shields?

Brooke Shields (1977)
Pretty Baby (XXX)
Brooke Christa Shields (born May 31, 1965) is an American model, child actress, Hollywood star, and current president of the Actors' Equity Association [2].

A child model starting at the age of 11 months [3], Shields gained widespread notoriety for her leading role in Louis Malle's film about a child hooker (sex trafficked indentured servant prostitute) Pretty Baby (1978) [which would be X-rated on most planets but not this one], in which she appeared in nude scenes shot when she was just 11 years old. Welcome to Hollywood, kid!

What can I say? I like them young
This piqued Woody Allen's interest so much that he hired her to play his child love interest in the hit romcom Annie Hall (1977), though her sexy and provocative scenes were later edited out of the movie after The Woodman took Shields' Momager Teri Shields on a date that didn't go so well.

Shields continued to model into her late teenage years and starred in several dramas in the 1980s, including The Blue Lagoon (1980), and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981).

In 1983, Shields suspended her modeling career to attend Princeton U, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree. More

What if Brooke did standup comedy?

Sadhguru: God or Fraud? 99% confirmed

Richest gurus and babas of India
Within India’s complex tapestry of spirituality, numerous revered gurus (spiritual teachers) and babas (father figures) stand out, their teachings resonating far beyond the confines of their ashrams (temples) and devotees.

Sad guru: I make a lot of money. lol
Boasting millions of followers worldwide, these spiritual leaders have amassed substantial wealth and wield immense influence, molding the country’s spiritual terrain.

Let’s delve into the lives of the seven wealthiest and most influential spiritual gurus and babas, starting with "Sadhguru."

With a global following numbering in the millions, his estimated net worth, according to the Times of India, stands at Rs 18 crore [1 Rs crore = ten million rupees, so he had 180 million rupees], as of 2023. [His fortune has increased since then].

Osho on Jews and the Jewish problem

Send me more money and girls and Mercedeses
Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh ("Osho") was born Chandra Mohan Jain on Dec. 11, 1931–Jan. 19, 1990). He is was previously known as Bhagwan Sri Rajneesh [2], Acharya Rajneesh [3, 1], and is now commonly called "Osho."

He was an Indian "godman" [4], sadhu, philosopher, mystic [5], cult leader, corrupt "saint" with a messianic complex, comedian, scam capitalist, clever and funny speaker (whose talks were transcribed into books that are sometimes quite funny), and founder of the Rajneesh Movement [1].

He was a controversial new religious movement leader during his life. He rejected institutional religions [6, 1, 7], insisting that spiritual experience could not be organized into any one system of religious dogma [8], as Patanjali did with yoga and the historical Buddha did in outlining general Eightfold Paths.

As a scandal-ridden sex guru in America, he advocated meditation but taught a unique form of his own devising, which he called "dynamic meditation."

I am God. Leave it all and get on my treadmill.
Rejecting traditional ascetic practices of all kinds, he encouraged his followers to [hedonistically] embrace life fully while remaining unattached to worldly desires.

Radicalized by Anti-Jewish Neo-Nazis?

Rajneesh claims he experienced a "spiritual awakening" in 1953 at the age of 21 [8].

Following several years in academia, in 1966 he resigned his post at the University of Jabalpur as a lecturer of philosophy and began traveling throughout India, becoming known for his criticism of the orthodoxy of mainstream religions [1, 9, 10, 11] as well as of mainstream political ideologies... BabyMetal a joke? Japanese girl metal

Maybe the strange form of Buddhism that thrives in Japan due to the preexisting practice of Shintoism (kami veneration cults), like Babymetal's "Fox God," explains the form of Zen (Chan Buddhism) and Nicherin Buddhism on the powerful island.
Shaman/Shinto priest placates kami
When Buddhism reached the Far East, its Zen architecture evolved to an extraordinary level of perfection—one that seamlessly harmonizes with the elements of nature. In Japan, it encountered the ancient world of the kami, the spiritual forces of animistic Shintoism. This meeting gave rise to a unique architectural fusion—a never-before-seen blend of sacred styles, where Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines began to echo one another, reflecting a profound spiritual and cultural syncretism.

Zohran sticks it to Trump, Cuomo, Musk

Older generation of Bibi/Trump-worshipping Zionist Jews in agony: "But WE own this city!"

Now that The WQ Oracle is officially psychic and able to successfully predict wins, we have to extend a special thank you to hated Dictator Trump and Madman Musk for backing corrupt sexual harasser Andy Cuomo. New Yorkers hate Trump and Cuomo, and most love breath-of-fresh-air Mamdani, who is for all the people, including Brooklyn's massive Jewish population, the largest in US.

Reason 'Mike Johnson Grindr' is trending
(Keith Edwards) Mike Johnson Grindr Johnson gets heckled live in post-disaster press conference, lying about who closed down the government, trying to blame Democrats when everyone knows it was the Trump administration. Gerrymandering, California's Prop. 50 (temporary redistricting will hurt Trump's third re-election dream), Muslim Mayor Mamdani, and a member of Congress (Arizona's Adelita Grijalva) is still being kept from her office and official swearing in so she can vote for what the people want and demand: Release the Epstein Files!

Kimmel more popular than Trump: poll

Trump is less popular than Kimmel, rants about Osama bin Laden, wants his face on money
(Jimmy Kimmel Live) Oct. 6, 2025: The show is back after a fun week of shows in Brooklyn, according to a new poll from YouGov Jimmy is officially more popular than Donald Trump, the White House put out a statement in response, 77% of Americans want the Epstein files released, Kaitlan Collins from CNN asked Trump whether he planned to pardon Epstein’s right-hand woman Ghislaine Maxwell...

Trump rallied troops over the weekend to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Navy, he took credit for saying that Osama bin Laden was a threat before 9/11, a federal judge last night blocked Trump from sending the California National Guard to Oregon, he is also threatening NBC over some things Al Sharpton had to say about him, the Treasury Department is talking about putting Trump on money, and we went out to a park in Jamaica, Queens and told folks that Trump was planning to rename the park in his honor. #Kimmel

Path to Nirvana; WQ reaches milestone

Here, Johnson poses at the opening green carpet for the 21st Zurich Film Festival on Sept. 25, 2025, in Zurich, Switzerland (Andreas Rentz, Getty Images for ZFF)

.
Dakota Johnson was a vision in blue at the Zurich Film Festival, and her jaw-dropping, see-through Gucci gown stole the spotlight. Johnson was on stage at the screening of her latest film, "Splitsville," at the 2025 Zurich Film Festival on Sept. 25, 2025, in Zurich, Switzerland. Artistic Director of the ZFF Christian Jungen awarded Johnson the Golden Eye Award during the screening. More:

Blue is the color, invisible to the ancients
Blue is the color. It represents a kind of cosmic intelligence or wisdom, to the extent any color (rate of vibration or frequency) can convey resonance or a mood. The seven main chakras (energy nexuses or "wheels") along the spine represent the aspirations of humans.

We go from the base (muladhara) with our coiled energy waiting to be expressed, where we ground ourselves, aspiring upwards to release (spiritual liberation) at the crown chakra. They are called wheels because they are turning, guiding kundalini energy upward.

Milestone

What the students wrote
What is the milestone? It is another tremendous mass of views. Without realizing it, Wisdom Quarterly: American Buddhist Journal crossed yet another big tick on the ticker. With each such bundle of hits or views, most of them taking place in just the past month, we are filled with gratitude for our enlightened teacher and his successful American student (to preserve her privacy, let's call her Kalyani, the noble friend), who are inspirations that we, too, can attain such things as are described in the Buddhist texts, particularly the Abhidhamma preserved and made practical in little known Burmese Theravada tradition of the great Pa Auk Sayadaw. (All forms of Buddhism may be beautiful and exotic, counterintuitive and koan-like, but how many produce enlightenment and liberation, bodhi and nirvana, in this very life?) However, in our worldly foolishness, we tend to intellectualize everything. And for that we have our root teacher, American JuBu Bhikkhu Bodhi (BAUS.org).

What is the Path to Enlightenment?
Dhr. Seven, Ashley Wells (ed.), Wisdom Quarterly

Seven energy-wheels or chakras of the body
The "path" (Pali magga, Sanskrit marga) may be summarized in many ways. Because Buddhism as recorded in ancient, memorized recitations (the oral tradition of proto-India before most people read and wrote), there are lists. So it's fun to play with them so long as one knows the map is not the terrain, only an indicator along the way. If only ONE thing were needed to awaken to enlightenment (bodhi), that
  1. one thing would be insight (wisdom, direct knowing-and-seeingpanna, Sanskrit prajna).
  2. If the list had two things: Serenity (jhanas) and Mindfulness (satipatthana) producing liberating wisdom.
  3. Three things: Compassion, Tranquility, and Mindful Attention to the Four Foundations.
  4. Four things: The Four Ennobling Truths. ("Noble" = Aryan = "Enlightening").
  5. Five things: Finding a suitable teacher, giving ear, mental attention, applying oneself, and perseverance until success.
  6. Six things: Sitting, calming, absorption (jhana), emerging, and immediately mindfully placing attention on phenomena (ultimate mentality and materiality, discerning cittas and kalapas), and reflecting.
  7. Seven things: The Seven Factors of Enlightenment.
  8. Eight things: The Ennobling Eightfold Path....
  9. Thirty-seven things: (The Seven Requisites of Enlightenment or the bodhipakkhiyādhammā, all the key things, or dhamma, the historical Buddha taught pertaining to awakening that leads to knowing nirvana).
