Perhaps the algorithm did not like the use of the word Mxn or gngstrs or maybe it's the combination of the two terms too close together. They don't tell you; they just cloak it behind a censorship warning.
But this is an amazing phenomenon showing American hegemony and its unintended consequences.
Imagine traveling to Asia and seeing all these homeboys and homegirls straight outta Los Angeles standing around, all tatted up, with lowriders, the de rigueur fashions, and gesturing to each other as they smoke, drink, and presumably g*ngbang. lol. You'd never imagine you were in Japan, but you would be.
It would be a sight, the Chicano Movement spread to Asian Buddhists with a fashion sense. How did it go from LA to Tokyo to Bangkok? Much of it has also spread to strange midwestern states in the USA, but that's due to drugs and dealers.
It is all supposed to be Nuestra Cosa, y'know, an L.A. thang. Y'all wouldn't understand, just as so much of what goes on in the South is a [Confederate] thang.

There's a curious new trend that has emerged in Bangkok, Thailand [LA's parallel city in Asia, both sharing a very long name and both being about the same size, two megalopolises.] Young Thai men [and females, too] are dressing up like Latino gangsters. Most of these guys say they are motivated by their passion for the "gangster" lifestyle and clothes [but the more recent ones have gotten into the world-fanmous lowrider car culture, probably due to rap videos glorifying it]. Coconuts TV met up with three [faux Theravada Buddhist] "gangs" -- Balcony Pain, Fratez, and D Sixty -- for a photoshoot and to learn more about the quizzical phenomenon. #cholos #bangkok #thailand Music: Down AKA Kilo - "Lean like a Cholo"
Over by the La Brea Tar Pits on Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles has a giant museum (temple) dedicated to the admiration (worship) of the automobile. Detroit may have built them, but they were built to be driven in LA, usually with the top down bathing in the sun, driving down Sunset Blvd. to the Santa Monica Bay. It's not very far, and if Sunset is too full of cruisers cruising American Graffiti style, it's east to jump on the Interstate 10 Freeway all the way down to the Pacific. The boulevard is called Sunset because this is where the sun sets, just as it rises on the Big Apple, a reference to forbidden carnal knowledge in the Garden of Eden. On the eve of Independence Day for Mexico, many Chicanos are having their cars on exhibit with a parade or caravan of vehicles to show off their slick rides near Little Ethiopia (Fairfax).
Cruise? It's time to peel out and get out!
(Petersen Automotive Museum) If you're lucky, you live in a town with a regular lowrider cruise, so you're familiar with the unexpected pleasure of seeing something glittering and striped in the next lane suddenly lift up like a stinkbug and drop low enough to drag sparks across the intersection.
Lowriding is a community activity like no other automotive subculture. The cars aren't built to be lightweight or quick in the canyons. They aren't for early morning drives or secret late-night meetups; they're designed to turn heads on the main street in town during prime time.
The goal is never to cross the line first, but to do it with the most style. At their most basic, lowriders are conversation starters; at their highest level, they are showstoppers.
All of this makes lowrider culture perfect for a museum exhibit, where those familiar with the art form can appreciate the chance to look more closely at cars they've only seen in motion, and those new to the scene can marvel, slack-jawed, at the incredible imagination, artistry, and history that goes into making the perfect lowrider.
The new exhibit, "Best in Low," at the Petersen Automotive Museum (petersen.org) in Los Angeles is not the museum's first look at lowriders, but it is its best.
Walking through the gallery is like visiting the gemstone section of a natural history museum. Everything is sparkling and glowing, and a person could spend a whole day on a single car and not see every magical detail. More: Best in Low exhibit

Before Bauhaus: How Goth Became Goth "Goth" is many things -- a Germanic tribe, a style of architecture, a type of literature, a style of film. It's a youth movement. What ties these together is a sense of dark romanticism.
But despite the counterfeit Marilyn Manson and My Chemical Romance infamy for the adoption of a gothic appearance or fashion sense, their music could not traditionally be classified goth.
To quote Sasha Geffen of Pitchfork: “[Goth] songs were marked by echoes, distortion, minimal guitar lines, and an arch taste for the macabre; their electroshocked hair, smears of black eyeliner, and dark clothes only reinforced the vibe.”
So while any youth dressed in black with a fondness for obvious smeared makeup can be dubbed “goth,” it doesn't mean the affectation reveals what sort of music is being listened to, which is not necessarily goth. Appearance is a separate thing from the sonic template.
So as the nights grow increasingly cold and dark, join Trash Theory in discovering how the world got to the point where goth became a defined genre with its own look, sound, and lyrical content.
The goth sound ran from the darkness of "I Put a Spell on You" by Screamin Jay Hawkins in 1956, "The End" by The Doors in 1967, and "All Tomorrow's Parties" by Nico and the Velvet Underground, through "Dead Babies" by Alice Cooper, "In Every Dreamhome, a Heartache" by Roxy Music, "Third Uncle" by Brian Eno, "Human Fly" by the Cramps, "Unknown Pleasures" by Joy Division, ending with "A Forest" by The Cure and "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus, this is "How Goth Became Goth."
(Phuket.com) A few years ago, if anyone traveled anywhere south of Phuket [poo-KIT] City and looked up at the ridge of hills running down the center of the island [peninsula], one would see a towering monument under construction right at the top.
This is the Big Buddha, as it is known locally, destined to become a local landmark and a place for both tourists, pilgrims, and devout Thai Buddhists to visit.

About 10 years ago a group of friends were walking through the forest in the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata [Beaches] when they stumbled upon a place with stunning vistas of both sides of the island -- Chalong Bay lay in one direction, while on the other they looked down over Kata Beach and the Andaman Sea. It would, they thought, make a perfect place for a viewpoint -- something that could become as well known as Phuket’s favorite sunset viewpoint, Laem Phromthep. More
Buddhist Temple in India
(Urban-India.net)I read a small byline in my Lonely Planet Guide about a quaint Buddhist temple on a hill in Hyderabad.
Off we went to the Ananda Buddha Vihara. We went up to East Maredpally and from there took a rickshaw to Mahendra Hills. Not surprisingly, the rickshaw driver hadn’t heard of the place either. We asked him to take us to Mata Amritanandmayi’s Ashrama, which is next to the temple, as he concentrated on coaxing the rickshaw up the steep streets. This Buddhist temple is the last building at the edge of a hillock [with a great view over the city]. More Western-style Buddha of Central Asia (Gandhara, Bactria, Greece)
Gandhara is an ancient region or province invaded in 326 B.C. by Alexander the Great, who took Charsadda (ancient Puskalavati) near present-day Peshawar (ancient Purusapura) and then marched eastward across the Indus into the Punjab as far as the Beas river (ancient Vipasa). Gandhara constituted the undulating plains, irrigated by the Kabul River from the Khyber Pass area, the contemporary boundary between Pakistan and Afghanistan, down to the Indus River and southward towards the Murree hills and Taxila (ancient Taksasila), near Pakistan's present capital, Islamabad.
Its [Westernized] Buddhist art, however, during the first centuries of the Christian era, had adopted a substantially larger area, together with the upper stretches of the Kabul River, the valley of Kabul itself, and ancient Kapisa, as well as Swat and Buner towards the north. More
