Melissa Balin, after being assaulted by a dozen officers and incarcerated for 48 hours without charge, General Assembly, Occupy LA, West Steps, City Hall, Dec. 2, 2011.
Melissa Balin, a well educated journalist and outspoken Sovereign Nation advocate, speaks of the illegal abuse of occupiers she experienced.
She also witnessed abuses in jail and during the raid on the central Occupy Los Angeles encampment involving assaults on peaceful free speech demonstrators and the wholesale destruction of their property using the pretext that it was contaminated with germs.
This took place Tuesday night, Nov. 29, 2011 at Solidarity Park (City Hall lawn). Police are accused of dumping sewage to contaminate the site to justify their eviction on sanitation and safety grounds and their dramatic use of hazmat suits.
While Chief Beck seems to be unaware that there was abuse, rather than the "peaceful eviction" narrative being promoted by the mainstream media based on pool reports, Balin's attempts to inform him otherwise have gone unanswered.
Clearing the site: Occupy Los Angeles property, clearly not covered in "fecal matter," being removed and destroyed from a federal crime scene (KTLA.com).
All cleared out: Former central encampment of Occupy Los Angeles, south square, City Hall, after General Assembly, Dec. 2, 2011 (Ashley Wells/WQ).
