.
(Fenixtrip) "Enlightenment Grove," or Bodh Gaya, was where Siddhartha woke up to reality under the bodhi tree to become the Buddha. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular place of pilgrimage for visitors from all over the world.

The center of Buddhism, "Enlightenment Grove" or Bodh Gaya, is where the Ascetic Siddhartha attained his "Great Enlightenment."

Mahabodhi Temple and remnant of tree
This Maha Bodhi took place beneath the bodhi (enlightenment) tree. He thereby became the Buddha, the "Enlightened/Awakened One," ~2,600 years ago.

In terms of blessedness, this tiny temple town is to Buddhists what Mecca is to Muslims or Jerusalem to Christians.

(Discovery of India) Bodh Gaya is the most famous and holy place for followers of Buddhism the world over. It is where the Buddha Gautama, Shakyamuni, is thought to have reached enlightenment on a platform (bodhi-mandala) under what came to be called the bodhi tree.
