Ultra-ancient art
Archeologists have discovered two magnificent murals depicting two-faced men in the 1,400-year-old archeological site of Panamarca in Peru. The site was once occupied by the Inca Empire, but these murals date back to an even earlier culture – the Moche – who predated the Incas by several centuries. No one knows exactly how the Moche used the site, but the murals adorn a large, still partly unexcavated ceremonial hall that surely held huge political or religious significance.
