A Buddhist monk, who is also a voter, drags a polling agent outside a polling station in Thiksey, India 12 miles (20 km) east of Leh, today. The voters said that the polling agent was involved in false voting. The final stage of voting in India's closely fought general election began on Wednesday, with signs that a weak coalition could emerge the winner just as the Asian power faces an economic slowdown (Amit Gupta).

Colom denied involvement in the murder of a prominent lawyer on Tuesday after a video surfaced blaming the president for the crime and accusing him of money laundering. Rodrigo Rosenberg, the legal representative of a well-known businessman who was killed in April, was gunned down in an upscale Guatemala City suburb on Sunday (Daniel LeClair).

Aboriginal elder Major Sumner performs a ritual dance outside Liverpool's World Museum following the return of an Australian indigenous human skull in Liverpool, northern England, yesterday. The remains which were taken from Australia between 1902 and 1904 have been part of the museum's collection since 1948 when they where purchased from Dr William Broad (Phil Noble).
