Yemen declares war on Israel (video)

Yemen’s Houthis declare WAR on Israel and begin shelling the ethno-state, which will have the effect of drawing in the U.S. and Iran. Lebanon and Hezbollah have missiles, too. The only group which does not is Hamas, and even the El Qassam Brigades may not have anything more than stockpiles with no way to launch them in their defense. This is an extermination by Israel, after all, not a war of commensurate groups or armies.

The General Assembly (GA) of Occupy Los Angeles passed a declaration after days of wrangling and rewriting. The gist of it is that the Occupy Movement in LA is inclusive in terms of communication, peaceful in nature, and constructive. Read it in full:

Buddhist Climate Project

(Environment and Nature) In the run-up to the crucial U.N. Climate Treaty Conference in Copenhagen in December 2009, the Buddhist Declaration on climate change will present to the world's media a unique spiritual view of climate change and our urgent responsibility to address the solutions.

It emerged from the contributions of over 20 Buddhist teachers of all traditions to the book A Buddhist Response to the Climate Emergency. "The Time to Act is Now" is a pan-Buddhist statement by Zen teacher Dr. David Tetsuun Loy and Theravada teacher Bhikkhu Bodhi with scientific input from Dr. John Stanley. The Dalai Lama was the first to sign this declaration. All concerned members of the international Buddhist community are invited to study the document and add their voice by co-signing it HERE.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Thailand has declared a state of emergency in the town where a summit of Asian leaders was supposed to be held after protesters stormed the venue. The meeting has been canceled.

The decree also covers the area surrounding Pattaya. It gives the military the right to restore order, allows authorities to suspend civil liberties, bans public gatherings of more than five people and bars the media from reporting news that "causes panic."

Thai Prime Abhisit Vejjajiva declared the emergency Saturday after protesters demanding his ouster smashed the glass doors of the summit venue and swarmed the building. Government spokesman Supachai Jaisamuth said the situation was "too violent" for the meeting to take place.

Thai Protesters Disrupt Asia Summit

More than 2,000 anti-government protesters forc-ed the postponement of the opening meeting of an Asian summit, demanding the gathering be canceled unless the Thai prime minister resigns.

Protesters blocked leaders from leaving their nearby hotels and marched to the meeting venue, clashing with a group of rival demonstrators. The two sides threw rocks and smoke bombs at each other about 2 miles (3 km) from the venue. More>>
