Levels of reality and real-life levitation

Real magic is really possible? - Yes.
In Dharmic (Indian) religions, the siddhis (Sanskrit सिद्धि siddhi, fulfillment, accomplishment) are material, paranormal, supernatural, magical powers, abilities, and attainments, such as levitation (paranormal).

They are the products (sometimes byproducts) of yogic advancement through daily practices (sādhanās) such as meditation (jhana, dhyana) and eight-limbed yoga [1].

The Pali term iddhi ("psychic powers," ṛddhi) is often used interchangeably in Buddhism.

Etymology
Illusion in Prague using steel armature
Siddhi is a Sanskrit noun that can be translated as super "knowledge," "accomplishment," "attainment," or "success" [2].

Method
Buddhism's Path of Purification (Visuddhi-magga) is one of the great commentarial texts to give explicit details about how meditators and spiritual masters can actually manifest supernormal abilities [3].
  • [These powers are not really "supernatural" because, however uncommon, they are our natural potential.]
It states that abilities such as levitation (flying through the air), walking through walls (solid obstructions), diving into the ground as if it were water, walking on water as if it were land, and so forth are achieved through changing one element, such as the earth element (Pali pathavi), into another element, such as air (vayu) [3].
  • [This is done at will because one has mastered the absorptions (jhanas) via that element. How this is done is explained in practice by Buddhist teachers and meditation masters. Theoretically and conceptually, it is laid out in The Path of Purification, an ancient Buddhist text compiled by the great monk and commentator Buddhaghosa.]
The individual must master disc (kasina) meditation before this is possible [3]. The modern Buddhist Master Dipa Ma ("Dipa's Mother"), who trained in The Path of Purification via her personal teacher Anagarika Munindra, had these abilities -- according to her closest American students who went on to become world famous meditators and teachers (Sharon Salzberg, Joseph Goldstein, Jack Kornfield, Sylvia Boorstein). Their claims were verified in Calcutta and the USA but, of course, never to the satisfaction of Western science or the impossible standards of the great skeptic the Great Randi. See the great book about her by an American admirer Amy Schmidt, Knee Deep in Grace. Not only did she develop these powers with Anagarika Munindra's instructions, she taught them to her enlightened daughter Dipa and others around her. More: Siddhi

Samadhi and Absorptions (English Monk)

Samādhi
: "concentration,"
literally "the (mental) state of being firmly fixed" (sam+ā+√ hā). It is fixing the mind (attention) on a single object.

"One-pointedness of mind (cittass' ekaggatā), Ven. Visakha, this is called concentration" (MN 44).

Concentration -- though often very weak -- is one of the seven mental concomitants (cetasikas) inseparably associated with all consciousness. Compare with nāma, cetanā.

"Right concentration" (sammā-samādhi), as the last link of the Ennobling Eightfold Path (magga), is defined as the four meditative absorptions (jhānas).

In a wider sense, comprising also much weaker states of concentration, it is associated with all karmically wholesome (kusala) consciousness(es). "Wrong concentration" (micchā-samādhi) is concentration associated with all karmically unwholesome (akusala) consciousness(es).

Wherever in the texts this term is not distinguished by "right" or "wrong," there "right concentration" is meant.

In concentration one may distinguish three grades of intensity:
  • (1) "Preparatory concentration" (parikamma-samādhi) existing at the beginning of the mental exercise.
  • (2) "Neighborhood concentration" (upacāra-samādhi), that is, concentration "approaching" but not yet attaining the first absorption (jhāna), which in certain mental exercises is marked by the appearance of the so-called "counter-image" (patibhāga-nimitta).
  • (3) "Attainment concentration" (appanā-samādhi), that is, concentration present during the absorptions.
(Appendix) For further details, see bhāvana, Path of Purification (Vis.M. III and Fund. IV.)

Concentration connected with the four noble path-moments (magga), and fruition-moments (phala) [which results in awakening/enlightenment], is called supermundane (lokuttara), having Nirvana (Nibbāna) as object.

xxx

Any other concentration, even that of the sublimest absorptions (jhanas) is merely mundane (lokiya).

According to DN 33, the cultivation of stillness (development of concentration, samādhi-bhāvanā) may bring about a fourfold blessing:
  1. present happiness through the four (material) absorptions;
  2. (2) knowledge and vision (knowing and seeing, ñāna-dassana), here probably identical with the "divine eye" (see abhiññā) through perception of light (kasina);
  3. mindfulness and clear comprehension (sati-sampajana) through the clear knowledge of the arising, persisting and vanishing of feelings, perceptions and thoughts;
  4. extinction of all cankers (āsava-kkhaya) through understanding the arising and passing away of the Five Aggregates clung to as self (khandha).
Concentration is one of the Seven Factors of Enlightenment (bojjhanga), one of the Five Spiritual Faculties and Five Powers (bala), and the last link of the Noble (Ennobling/Enlightening) Eightfold Path.

In the threefold division (virtue, concentration, and wisdom) of the Noble Eightfold Path, concentration is a collective name for the three last factors of the path (sikkhā).

Abraxas: Gnostic god over God/Devil

Abraxas: The SECRET God more powerful than [Judeo-Christian] God and the Devil
(MorgueOfficial) Premiered March 29, 2025: Gnosticism is about secret (occulted, hidden) knowledge. There’s a secret god, more powerful than [the Christian] God and the Devil combined -- a god so blasphemous that for centuries merely whispering its name (Abraxas) could get one branded a heretic and hunted down.
  • Why isn't the powerful Creator God of the Vedas and Hinduism (Brahma) worshipped in India today?
Gnostic symbol: Abraxas?
But even though the Church tried to hide its existence, it has influenced everything from religion, secret societies, magick rituals, even modern psychology (like Carl Jung), and even Lady Gaga’s "Abracadabra." Let’s get started on the discovery of the hidden god called Abraxas.

Hidden devils and demons all around

Skip to Minute 3:25 for Fengdu Ghost City based on Buddhist and Chinese mythology
.
The UnXplained: Hidden Devils and Demons Surround Us
(HISTORY) Evil (pāpa, Nio) is all around us. See more in this compilation from The UnXplained.
First, there was the USA's first known serial killer, Mr. H. H. Holmes from the Chicago World's Fair, the real name of which is World's Columbian Exposition (because Columbia is the USA's little-known first name before reverting to the reptilian name Amerika, not related to Amerigo Vespucci as we are all taught).

Where are the "devils"? They are with the ghosts and demons in the underworld (ancient Greek Hades), Gehenna, or what the ancient Chinese call Fengdu Ghost City (Chinese 丰都鬼城, 豐都鬼城) pinyin Fēngdū Guǐ Chéng, originally 酆都鬼城 [1]).

This is a large complex of Chinese shrines, temples, and monasteries dedicated to the afterlife located on Ming Mountain [2] in Fengdu County, Chongqing municipality, China [3]. It is situated about 110 miles (170 km) downstream from Chongqing on the north bank of the Yangtze River.

The city consists of buildings, structures, dioramas, and statues related to Diyu and Naraka, concepts from Chinese mythology and Buddhism that signify the underworld or hell(s). It is modeled to resemble Youdu, the capital of Diyu.

After the building of the Three Gorges Dam and the rising of the water level of the river it became separated from the city of Fengdu, which was rebuilt higher up the mountainside on the south side of the river [4]. More: Fengdu Ghost City

Wild weather sweeps thru SoCal again (video)

Strong thunderstorms, tornado possible during SoCal storm
(KTLA 5) March 6, 2024: A developing storm will bring another round of rain with the possibility of strong thunderstorms and even a chance for a small tornado to Southern California on Wednesday. KTLA's Kaj Goldberg has KTLA's forecast on March 6, 2024. ktla.com/news/california/rain...

We were hiking in tanks and tees when, bam!
It's wild out there. See weather.com for details. It's Thursday, March 7, 2024, and no one was expecting another deluge, flooding, landslides, and swollen creeks and streams. This is the arroyo (wash) seco (dry) and could only be wetter if snow had fallen and it were just melting. Hail is raining down in Tarzana, deep in the Valley behind the Hollywood Hills. Meteorologist Kaj Goldberg is talking about yesterday. Twenty-four hours later, extreme weather is rolling through again, from Claremont at the extreme east of the county to Santa Monica on the west, pouring out into the Bay that makes California so attractive to tourists and beachgoers. Thank you, Mother Nature, but a little warning wouldn't hurt. This will be updated by tonight's broadcast. Snow in the north, mud in hills, a swamp in the Valley, and the streets of Metropolitan Los Angeles are finally being cleaning, only to wash it all out into the sea, where is heads south to Orange County, San Diego, and Mexico due to a current that constantly brings cold water down from Alaska or the Bering Straits and the Pacific Northwest.

(Next Level Soul) Premiered Oct. 11, 2022. Welcome to the Next Level Soul Podcast with Alex Ferrari where the big questions about life get asked: Who am I? Why am I here? Is that all there is? What is my soul’s mission? The attempt is to answer these and other questions by bringing raw and inspiring conversations with fascinating and thought-provoking guests.

New podcast episodes of Next Level Soul air Fridays everywhere. Let's take SOUL to the next level. Links to guest's books and official site 👉 nextlevelsoul.com/130
ABOUT: Dr. Nanci L. Danison is a retired attorney and current spiritual author who has written five books so far on the experiences she had and the information she received in the afterlife. She holds a BS degree with a double major in biology (anatomy and physiology) and chemistry, a BA degree in psychology, and a doctorate in jurisprudence.

She had three NDE-OOB experiences during which she left her body in hospitals during surgery or when very close to death. She had what she calls two “pop in” NDEs, where [she] popped into the afterlife for a particular purpose while still alive. During one [she] had a life review.

During the other she received a huge download of information about everything that has ever been written in Earth’s history.

Lastly, she was privileged to share her mother’s out-of- body adventure and death via an empathic or shared NDE. For a number of years, Danison was the group leader of Central Ohio International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS), a chapter she founded. She spoke at an IANDS conference and various IANDS chapter meetings over the years.

Time slips, other dimensions HERE (video)

"Law of Attraction" Library 🎧 (FREE audiobook app ➡️ youarecreators.org/lawofattrac...). Visit the website youarecreators.org for more Law of Attraction content. Or download the Affirmation Reminder app (smarturl.it/affirmationreminder).
"YouAreCreators" created this channel to share one of the greatest secrets of the universe. That secret is that WE literally create our reality. (Quantum physics now proves this). We are all governed by a set of Universal Laws, and these laws were created by GOD [Brahman?] to aid us in creating the life we desire. One of these laws is known as the "Law of Attraction" or the law of "Reaping and Sowing." This law stated simply is that whatever we give out in thought/feeling, word, or deed [karma, action] returns to us. Whether the return is negative, positive, failure, or success, it is all up to what we give out [and to whom]. Many authors and celebrities such as Wayne Dyer, Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, Jim Carrey, Steve Harvey, Rhonda Byrne, and others have testified to this amazing Law of Attraction. It's time we all learn this wonderful secret.

Impossible? The "Flat Earth" theory (video)

Aliens on the moon
This compilation of clues was assembled by Mark Sargent, but the original video has been given a misleading title. Rather than "God" (Brahman or brahmas), this is about Earth (Gaia).

Is it a plate with a firmament cover over it. If so who or what put it there? "Creators," beings who delight in creating (nimmanarati deva) and others who delight in those creations (paranimmita-vasavatti deva), are mentioned in Buddhist cosmology.

This video is about the earth we are standing on and how little we know about it. It is not a globe but a disc, something hidden from us in spite of what the old religions said.

Elite people on earth conceal a very big secrets. The land we live on is more what it seems than what we have been told and convinced of since childhood.

Click play, sit back, and learn about some strange anomalies that reveal that we are being lied to about something. They need to be explained. Our hollow earth, with levels beneath this one, is not globular, but plate shaped.

HELL (History Channel)

There are unfortunate destinations -- planes one may be reborn in if one's opportunistic karma comes to fruition in the next or some future life. It may surprise students of the Dharma to think of such possibilities. Unhappy abodes are cramped and crowded, whereas fortunate destinations are spacious and uncrowded. There are many worlds. And in each world, one may say there are as many experiences of it as there are individuals. The human world, for example, is not one place. It's 6.5+ billion places and constantly changing.

So, too, are planes of existence regarded as the Downfall, the Great Waste, Niraya. For once having fallen, there is often no clear cut way out. Eventually, it is one's skillful, wholesome, and profitable (kusala) karma coming to fruition that one is released. Negative influences may, however, not yet be exhausted and could continue to play themselves out. The human world is a mixed realm, where one experiences the fruit of both moderately skillful and unskillful actions willed and carried out in the past.

The Christian conception is an amalgamation and should be understood as grossly oversimplified. But it is this oversimplification of things that makes this religious tradition so compelling and popular. Few people want the details; we are satisfied with outlines writ large. Christianity (particularly as it became an offshoot of Judaism and as it morphed into an official Church in Roman Catholicism) has borrowed a great deal from Mahayana Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, Egyptian tradition, and of course Paganism (pre-Christian European beliefs). "Hell" is not unique to any one of these traditions.

Indonesia: Sculptures found

DailyGalaxy/Rebecca Sato 8/1/07

12th-century Buddhist Sculptures Found in Indonesian cave
A remote Indonesian cave has been found to contain previously undiscovered sculptures depicting the spiritual journey of Buddha.

The sprawling cave is a reminder of the rich Buddhist past in what is now the world's most populous Muslim nation.

The cave appears to have been a place of meditation for Buddhist monks. It was discovered more than two decades ago near Jireg village in East Java province, but had never been thoroughly explored because of its remote and difficult-to-reach location, said Dhamma Subho Mahathera of Sangha Theravada Indonesia.

"As far as I know it is the only Buddhist cave in the world for meditation of Buddhist monks," said Mahathera, who visited the site earlier this month. "There are reliefs representing four levels of meditations [phases of enlightenment], from Sotapana to Arhat."

The sculptures include depictions of an elephant, cow, monkey, and a lotus—one of Buddhism's most important symbols.

In Buddhism, the lotus represents peace and enlightenment. One interpretation for its significance is that although the lotus has its roots in mud, it blossoms into a beautiful flower. Symbolically, it represents the idea that although an individual may come from a state of impurity, there is the potential to achieve enlightenment.

Indonesia also has the Borobudur temple complex on the island of Java built more than 1,100 years ago—three centuries before the arrival of Islam—as a shrine to Buddha and a place for pilgrimages. The monument comprises six square platforms topped by three circular platforms, and is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues.

A main dome is located at the center of the top platform, and is surrounded by seventy-two Buddha statues seated inside perforated stupa. It is believed the complex may represent Buddhist cosmology, as it appears to form an enormous mandala. Evidence suggests Borobudur was abandoned following the fourteenth century decline of Buddhist and Hindu kingdoms in Java, and the Javanese conversion to Islam. The complex was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the 1980s.

The Mahathera said Buddhist caves have also been discovered in India and Sri Lanka, but those did not have reliefs depicting the stages of Buddhist meditation.

Siddhartha Gautama was born in southwestern Nepal around 500 B.C. and later became revered as "the Buddha."

Buddhism teaches that right thinking and self-control through meditation can enable people to achieve nirvana—a divine state of peace and release from desire. Today Buddhism has about 325 million followers, mostly in Asia.
