Malala Yousafzai in Oscar race with film

(DT Next) Malala Yousafzai [the young Afghan girl who got shot in the head by the "Taliban" for trying to go to school, or at least that's the pro-war CIA propaganda we are fed] is in the Oscar race for an Academy Award with her film Stranger at the Gate.

[Malala is a kind of Greta used, not in the climate debate, but to promote US military involvement in Afghanistan in the propaganda war by the CIA to convince American citizens to support their massive war effort. One is reminded of the other bullet-to-the-head "miracle survival" story, astronaut-turned-politician twin Mark Kelly's wife, the Congressperson Gabby Giffords, when it seems both Yousufzai and she had brain surgery and this whole being shot story was made up to take a bad situation and milk it for propaganda purposes.]

Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has boarded the Oscar-shortlisted documentary short film Stranger at the Gate as executive producer.

The film, which charts the surprising change of heart of a PTSD-branded former U.S. Marine-domestic terrorist who set out to bomb a mosque (Islamic temple) but instead converted to Islam because his victims were so kind to him.

It was a prize winner at the 2022 Tribeca Festival. “This film is a powerful true story of forgiveness and redemption,” Yousafzai said in a statement.

“I hope the film challenges [viewers] to question their assumptions and show kindness to everyone they meet.” Directed by Joshua Seftel. Distributed by The New Yorker as part of the magazine’s documentary series.

Sex and the Muslim girl: new book tells all

Muslim Sex Manual: Halal
Taboo-busting sex guide offers advice to Muslim women seeking fulfilling love lives The Muslimah Sex Manual: A Halal Guide to Mind Blowing Sex is praised for empowering women seeking fulfilling love lives.

It was a confession by a newlywed friend about her disastrous sex life that gave Umm Muladhat an idea for a groundbreaking book.

"Women's rights are human rights."
Published last week, The Muslimah Sex Manual: A Halal Guide to Mind Blowing Sex [halal is to Muslims what "kosher" is to Jews] is the first such guide written by a Muslim woman. The author has chosen to stay anonymous, using an alias.

Candid advice is offered on everything from kissing to cowgirl positions -- with the core message being that Muslim women can and should enjoy a varied sex life and take the lead in physical relationships.

Make love not jihad: mail order brides
While some critics have accused the author of fetishizing Muslim women and encouraging promiscuity, the book has been welcomed by readers who have lauded her as a Muslim Belle De Jour, bringing a taboo subject into the open:

“I’ve received encouraging feedback, but also a significant number of demeaning and disgusting messages,” said Muladhat.

“One woman said it’s not needed; they learn everything from their mothers. I doubt any mother speaks in as explicit detail as I have.

We know nothing of sex. These are accidents.
“I put an emphasis on having sex only with your spouse, but having the full range of sexual experiences with that spouse. Islamically, there’s an emphasis on enjoying physical relationships within the context of marriage, not just for procreation [like Catholicism dictates to its followers]. It is the wife’s right that her husband satisfy her sexually.”

Muslim women’s organizations have praised her, saying the book will empower Muslim women and protect them from entering into sexually abusive relationships. More

"Daddy"? Yuck! I don't want to marry a much older man! - But I already paid your dowry.
I am not sure about this book. Let us ban it in Saudi Arabia, home of the CIA's Wahhabism.

Secret Love Lives of US Muslim Women

Romance, dating, sex and -- Muslim women? In this groundbreaking collection, 25 American Muslim writers sweep aside stereotypes to share their search for love openly for the first time, showing just how varied the search for love can be -- from singles' events and online dating, to college flirtations and arranged marriages, all with a uniquely Muslim twist.

These stories are filled with passion and hope, loss, and longing:
  • A quintessential blonde California girl travels abroad to escape suffocating responsibilities at home, only to fall in love with a handsome Brazilian stranger she may never see again.
  • An orthodox African-American woman must face her growing attraction to her female friend.
  • A young girl defies her South Asian parents' cultural expectations with an interracial relationship. And a Southern woman agrees to consider an arranged marriage, with surprising results.
These compelling stories of love and romance create an irresistible balance of heart-warming and tantalizing, always revealing, and deeply relatable. Review

Rare Islam to Buddhism conversion permitted

Malaysia woman scores rare legal win to quit Islam (May 8, 2008)

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) -- A Malaysian religious court granted a woman's wish to formally renounce Islam on Thursday, a decision described by her lawyer as a landmark case that could enable many others to leave the faith.

Islamic courts in the mainly Muslim nation rarely allow Muslims to convert to other religions. Often, they prescribe counselling or sometimes even fine them for apostasy.

"It's a landmark case," said lawyer Ahmad Jailani Abdul Ghani, who represented Siti Fatimah Tan Abdullah, 38, in her two-year court battle to convert back to Buddhism from Islam.

Siti Fatimah, an ethnic Chinese woman formerly known as Tan Ean Huang, had converted to Islam in 1998 in order to marry her Muslim lover at the time. In Malaysia, non-Muslims must convert to Islam before they can legally marry a Muslim.

But Siti Fatimah later broke up with her husband and in 2006 sought to have her conversion to Islam annulled, Ahmad Jailani said, adding that she had never practiced as a Muslim and had only adopted Islam in name to ensure her marriage was recognized.

The lawyer said the ruling was important because it accepted that Muslims could renounce Islam on the grounds that they had never really practised the faith.

"We brought in two witnesses from her family to say that (because of) the way she prays and way she lives in her house, she is not a Muslim," Ahmad Jailani said.

Islam is Malaysia's official religion, but a big minority of around 40 percent of Malaysians profess other faiths such as Buddhism, Hinduism, and Christianity.

Islamic affairs are governed at state level, so Thursday's ruling by the Penang Sharia High Court does not necessarily form a precedent for sharia courts in Malaysia's 12 other states. Ahmad Jailani said the Penang state religious council, which had opposed Siti's renunciation of Islam, had signalled it was likely to appeal the ruling.
