Pasadena police shoot and kill armed man during petty over-enforcement traffic stop of black men; residents clash with racist officers and their militant over-policing
(NBCLA, Aug. 17, 2020) Tensions escalate when a crowd gathers at the site of a racially-motivated police shooting of a black man in Pasadena by police who behave like an occupying force in the poorer north of the famous city. Let's police these [n-words]. Right, Jefferson? |
Living in Pasadena, what we see: Over-enforcement of petty no front plate offense because in fact two young black men are in vehicle, and this is really about fishing for bigger crimes. Scared passenger runs away probably because he's on parole and already in the prison pipeline. Implicitly biased and very actively racist officers, insulted by the lack of obedience, read signs to be able to excuse an execution using deadly weapon as first line of response. Then a gun is planted some distance away, because as we all know, you can throw a gun after being shot in the nerve center that is the spine at the lower back. Note the other officer didn't feel too threatened, but the killer claims a man running away has time to turn around and kill? Let him run away. He didn't do anything. But he's already presumed guilty of being black and therefore of other things. What's he hiding? We can't let him get away, so let's find a reason to justify shooting him. And let's plant a mystery gun not seen in the video in his shorts, in his hand, in the air, hitting the ground, nothing. Biased, racist Police Chief Perez is already on the side of his department and officer, what a surprise! Who needs an investigation to back him, he's already made up his mind. All lives do not matter until black lives matter.
