Dharma Bum Temple, San Diego (video)

Dharma Bum Temple (TheDharmaBums.org); Katie, Dhr. Seven (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

MISSION
My baubles make a "Buddhist," right? :)
Dharma Bum Temple provides a home for the study and practice of Buddhism without advocating one particular school of Buddhism.

Its community is simply a bridge for people to learn how to make change within their own lives and be of benefit to others. DBT's intention is to help people live out the practices of generosity, morality, patience, diligence, concentration (stillness), and wisdom.

It is the cultivation and integration of these guiding principles that leads to a happy and healthy life.

Not to be confused with Jack Kerouac's famous American book
.
VISION
DBT believes in the daily practice of
  1. loving-kindness
  2. compassion
  3. joy in others' joy
  4. equanimity.
These are the Four Divine Abidings or Brahma Viharas, which can have a profound impact on humanity.

DBT's intention is to provide an accepting and tolerant space where people of all races, genders, identities, sexual orientations, abilities, religions, and cultures can come together to build a peaceful community.

Dharma Bums are Disciples of the Buddha Practitioners of the Dharma Caretakers of the Sangha.
