4/20 Buddha readings with Dolce (video)

Editors, Wisdom Quarterly COMMENTARY; Lorenzo Dolce reads; Lama Yeshe answers in Nepal

420 Buddha readings with Lorenzo Dolce
(Lorenzo Dolce, 3/19/19) Lorenzo, possibly stoned after a wake-n-bake session, thinks it'd be fun to read the "Japanese Buddhist Bible," which gets spread around like those (Gideon) hotel Bibles of that Christian "cult" the major schools of Christianity disdain. "420 Buddha readings" with Lorenzo Dolce (at defunct finduse.org) are a fun time: He'll read anything from any religion. Hey, Dolce, can you do Jainism next?

Hippies traveling in Nepal went to see Lama Yeshe to ask him about taking drugs for enlightenment, self-realization, and peace.

Drugs?
Wisdom Quarterly COMMENTARY
What's the shortcut, Buddha? - The 8-fold Path.
Drugs, even entheogens, could never substitute doing the play (lila) of meditation. A drug may start by inspiring a motivation to meditate, but it is an obstacle, a deception, a counterfeit that brings on self-delusion.

What a long, strange trip it'll be. It's far better to have an established  spiritual or religious practice (sila, samadhi, panna or laypeople's dana, sila, bhavana, where sila is indispensable) first.

No one has ever awakened because of a drug trip, but the number who have become deluded into thinking or feeling sure they have is legion.

What else did the 60s teach us? Have a deluded drug religious experience, then go have a real spiritual one, a stable illumination, a gradual instruction that leads to the goal of bodhi, compassion, and nirvana.
