(Lunar Wisdom, April 2012) The Buddhist Goddess Green Tara, who is she? She is a bodhisattva, like the Goddess of CompassionKwan Yin (Avalokiteshvara) a being striving for supreme enlightenment. She is an inherited goddess (devi) with an interesting history as to why there are various devis of different colors in Vajrayana and to a lesser extent in other Mahayana traditions.
