First things first. Stillness or samadhi is fundamental to Buddhist practice and progress. This stillness is measured in terms of the depth and mastery of the meditative absorptions or jhanas. They are the foundation for insight practice and vipassana. Ignoring, dismissing, or diminishing their importance leads to the many poor practices and lack of progress we see all around.
