Otzi Iceman's DNA reveals very dark skin
Ancient Geographic, 8/19/23; Pat Macpherson, Amber Larson (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
I was hiking through Europe when I was killed. I hope it wasn't my skin color. I'm Euraasian.
It was an ancient murder that took 50 centuries to solve, as an arrow and headwound took Otzi down. Whodunnit? Was it Officer Og and his, pale-skin, anti-Anatolian patrolmen?
Are Eurasian-Turks "white"? Is Turkey Europe if we induct it into the EU? This becomes important when scientific research discovers that the 5,000-year-old Iceman "Otzi" is a dark Anatolian (Asia Minor, Eastern, Turkish) man, not a blond, blue-eyed, pale skin hiker like were led to imagine.
5,000-year-old European Otzi the Iceman's DNA reveals very dark skin
It's the oldest European mummy science has, a preserved Neolithic man (militarypress.com)
X-ray of Otzi's skull looks very "white." *Irony* Skulls were used to define classify whites as supreme. Hard to believe, but see the "scientific racism" of Georges Cuvier and his peers.
Otzi's mountain man rags
(Ancient Geographic) This new scientific evidence has rocked the world of archeology and has revealed a new and completely unexpected identity for Otzi the Iceman.
The surprising discovery was made that he was darker than any other European ever found. What does this new information mean for the history of Otzi the Iceman and his European identity?
Otzi the Iceman was initially portrayed as a long-haired [white] European mountain-man [with 62 tattoos], but the examination of his DNA has yielded novel insights, challenging the prevailing scientific [racist] understanding of his ancestral lineage.
The findings of a new study add to the genetic picture of the Iceman: His genome shares an unusually high proportion of genes with those of early Anatolian (Turkish) farmers when compared to other contemporary Europeans. Contrary to previous findings, his skin pigmentation was much, much darker than expected. The Iceman is Europe's oldest natural mummy, who lived around 5,300 years ago.
The mortal remains were discovered on the border between [future fascist and Nazi] Italy and Austria, at an elevation of 3,200 meters, by hikers in the Ă–tztal Alps. The hikers went off the marked trail and discovered half a human body sticking out of the melting snow.
