Does Buddhism approve of sex?

Does Buddhism approve of sex?
Ego (Buddhism podcast) Does Buddhism approve of sex? "This is an age in which sexual matters are discussed with great openness. There are many who are puzzled to know what the Buddhist attitude towards sex is. It is therefore to be hoped that the following guidelines may be found helpful towards an understanding. It is, of course, true to say that Buddhism, in keeping with the principle of the Middle Way, would advocate neither extreme puritanism nor extreme permissiveness. But this, as a guiding principle without further specification, may not seem sufficiently helpful for most people. In the first place, we must distinguish between the rules undertaken by Buddhist monks [and nuns] for their own conduct and any guiding principles for lay people.

The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts
Commonly referred to simply as Glastonbury Festival and known colloquially as "Glasto," this five-day festival of performing arts is held near Pilton, Somerset, England, most summers. It is the biggest open-air festival in the world.

Will you behave this year, Boys? And don't cuss.
In addition to contemporary music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and other arts. Leading pop and rock artists have headlined, alongside thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas.

Films and albums have been recorded at the festival, and it receives extensive TV and newspaper coverage. Glastonbury takes place on 1,500 acres of farmland [3] and is attended by about 200,000 people [4], with extensive security, transportation, water, and electricity-supply infrastructure (stuff built on the ground).

Will Olivia Rodrigo swell gatecrashing?

We need to heal stoned in a circle, a stone circle
While the number of attendees is sometimes swollen by gatecrashers, a record of 300,000 people was set at the 1994 festival, headlined by the Levellers, who performed on the Pyramid Stage [5].

Most festival staff are unpaid volunteers, helping the festival to raise millions of pounds for charity organizations [6].

What kind of hippie festival?

Woodstock, New York, changed the world
Regarded as a major event in contemporary British culture, the festival is inspired by the ethos of the hippie, the counterculture of the 1960s, and the free festival movement. [It's the British version of Woodstock.]

Vestiges of these traditions are retained in the Green Fields area, which includes sections known as the Green Futures, the Stone Circle, and Healing Field [7].

Michael Eavis hosted the first one, then called the Pilton Festival, after seeing an open-air Led Zeppelin concert in 1970 at the Bath Festival of Blues and Progressive Music. More: Glastonbury Festival

Isle of Wight Music Festival comes alive

Rare photos of the 1969 Isle of Wight Festival brought to life [with AI]
(Fusion Kidd) June 16, 2025: As Glastonbury 2025 opens, what is the history of other open-air festivals akin to Woodstock? Here are some rare photos of the 1969 Isle of Wight Festival, but in this case they are colorized and brought to life with animated motion (1968–1970). How the ChatGPT or AI modeling is able to project what happened after these photographs were taken is the mystery of something going into AI's black box and something else coming out with no one able to explain what happened in between.

Socrates: Nature of lust and women

Socrates: Females pray men never see this
Hey, baby, you gonna eat that fruit? - No, we are. Bite it. - Who, me? But, but... - Just do it.
.
Come here, sucker. I want to tell you something.
(Refuge of the Male Mind 🧠) June 20, 2025: In this provocative video, let's explore bold ideas inspired by Socrates' philosophy on human relationships, power, truth, and emotional manipulation. Women and Misogyny in Ancient Greek Philosophy
Annica Collette, Women in AntiquityNov. 27, 2018
.
Do women love, hate, or lovehate each other?
The subject of women in antiquity is a fascinating but admittedly difficult pursuit. Women’s voices in ancient times were largely ignored or silenced in literature, historical narratives, philosophical discourse, and political life.

Since pursuits in the philosophical realm were predominantly viewed as the domain of elite men, women, slaves, and other [social] minorities are often left out of the narrative. This makes it extremely difficult to find reliable sources on women in ancient times, what their lives were like, and how they carried themselves.

However, this is not to say that women did not participate in such activities. There is, in fact, some surviving evidence of female philosophers who were arguably just as influential and talented at their craft as their male counterparts (Wider, 1986).
  • The Missing Thread (D. Dunn)
The same is true of Early Buddhism, where Prince Siddhartha's wife, Bimba Devi (known to the world as Princess Yasodhara) went on to become a fully enlightened nun and the fiercest disputant in all the land, challenging any man or monk in debate. But all of this is as hidden as the story of "Mary" in the Bible. Here, however, one glorious woman is dissipated by being given many names -- Bhaddha Kacca, Kaccana, Bhadda Kaccānā, Subhaddakā, Bimba Devi, Bimba Sundari, and eventually Yasodhara. See: Rāhulamātā ("Rahula's mother").
Socrates (Women in Antiquity)
Much of what we know about women in these times come from male sources and therefore needs to be closely analyzed and examined for biases and misinformation [not to mention disinformation].

Women were often mentioned by male philosophers concerning their roles in society and were frequently scrutinized for their perceived flaws in character inherent to their gender.

One prominent example of this was the wife of Socrates [one of them], Xanthippe, who was portrayed as nothing more than a nag and distraction for her husband’s philosophical pursuits (Wider, 1986).

Analyzing all aspects, both male philosophical opinions on women and the women themselves, provides important insight into the lives of women in antiquity.

Prominent Men on Women Progressive Views on Women Socrates and Plato
Alcibiades and [bi] Socrates?
Socrates (470-399 BCE) was a classical Greek philosopher and is said to be one of the fathers of Western philosophy. Socrates as a historical figure is shrouded in mystery, as he left no written records of his teachings. What survives of his ideas comes from the accounts of his students, such as Plato (427-347 BCE) and Xenophon (430-354 BCE), and it is important to note that they may have adapted Socratic thought to suit their own personal beliefs. Pyramids were energy machines (Daily Mail)

A scale model house could be constructed.
A new discovery in Egypt's Great Pyramid of Giza suggests the structure was not just a pharaoh's final resting place, but also a giant power plant.

Scientists blasted the 4,600-year-old structure with electromagnetic waves, a form of radiation that travels though the universe, finding it focused and amplified the energy into specific chambers and around the base.

Electromagnetic waves are used in such research because the radiation interacts with matter in unique ways, allowing experts to probe specific details about a structure's composition, arrangement, and dynamics.
Did this news reach the Cosmic Summit? And then some
The waves built up as energy in the King's chamber, the Queen's chamber, and an unfinished chamber beneath the structure. Scientists concluded the pyramid may have been a gigantic resonator that was designed to trap electromagnetic waves.

Retired aerospace engineer Christopher Dunn, who has spent years analyze the pyramid, recently shared that research like this suggests there was a greater purpose behind the building the structure.

Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience in April 2024, Dunn said the Northern Shaft of the pyramid has an appearance similar to a ube-like structure used to transmit microwaves and electromagnetic energy.

"That's a part of the theory in the Giza power plant," he said. "There are two chemicals that are introduced into the chamber, and the chemicals mix, and they boil off hydrogen [to create energy]."

As for the purpose of turning this structure into a giant clean energy power plant, scientists of the study said it's still a mystery -- but the Egyptians may have been much more advanced than anyone thought. More:

Did Iran really retaliate on Israel?

Netanyahu resigns, Tel Aviv completely destroyed? Thousands of Israeli victims of Iran's devastating...
(Polemik) June 27, 2025: This conflict has been going on for weeks, and there are few signs of peace. Boom after boom continues to fill the sky, and each attack is only met with greater anger. Rather than abating, revenge is growing wildly out of control. Now, everything is done openly, no longer through proxies. The main target is actually on display. Fear that was once only imagined has now turned into reality. The world is watching everything but is silent, as if it has lost its voice. Amid the ruins and smoke, two things are at stake, self-respect and how far patience can last. The question is: Will this ever end? Or was there never any intention to end it from the start? We will explore further because what is happening now is much more complicated than just an armed conflict. #polemik #news #polemiknews

Making love at Kalash Fertility Festival

(Phils Guide to the World!) May 15, 2025: The Chilam Joshi Kalash Festival 2025 was held in Rumbur Valley and Bumburet Valley and Berir Valley, just outside of Chitral in Northwest Pakistan.

Kalash Girls, Tahsin Shah 04 - Kalash people
The festival celebrates the coming of spring and the fertility of the land. The Kalash people and the Kalash tribe are surprisingly progressive, and marital practices allow women to pursue love without social stigma. It's during the spring festival when many Kalash women set their sights on potential mates.

In stark contrast to patriarchal norms found in much of South Asia, the Kalash community promotes gender equality through practices like open relationships and marriage by elopement.
Kalashi: The beautiful Kalash people
Bumberet Valley, surrounded by the Hindu Kush Range, which is part of the parent Himalayan Range, is the largest and most popular valley, attracting the most tourists, especially for the Spring Kalash Festival in 2025.

During Chilam Joshi I enjoyed Kalash dancing, singing, music, traditions, and fashion, with new tribal outfits being made each year for the celebration.

In the mornings, my Kalash Valley of Chitral travel vlog goes inside Rumbur Village and Bamboret Valley to see the DAILY LIFE of the Kalash before the festival.

Kilashi girl, Chitral, like an Afghan (Kalash)
I also visit a baby ceremony, an ancient Kalash Valley graveyard/cemetery, Kalash temple, and several Kalash houses along the way.

Join me to experience the special Kalash culture at the Chilam Joshi Spring Festival 2025. What do you think about these people? Please comment below and share with friends before their culture dies off.

If you enjoy this video, please ✅ SUBSCRIBE (bit.ly/3BqGnIz) to follow along as I travel for six weeks in Pakistan and on to EVERY COUNTRY IN THE KNOWN WORLD! ❤️ It's my goal to see the planet NOT through the eyes of the media, but through my own eyes. The dark secrets of Mexican DNA uncovered
Casta: Spain's caste system
(Ancestry Code) June 22, 2025: Underneath the surface of modern Mexico (officially called the United Mexican States) lies a tangled legacy of Indigenous ancestry, Spanish (Iberian European) conquest, and a brutal caste (casta) system designed to divide and control based on racial superiority with pure peninsular Spanish at the top. This video uncovers the shocking genetic and social consequences of colonization, from the erasure of native bloodlines to the invention of racial categories that still echo today.
