Now that Doug the Cannibal, former COO for Beyond Meat Corporation, has taken to biting off noses like Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs, we may have to start cutting back on Beyond Burgers.
But we're still vegans who love savory flavors and healthy ingredients. Which brings up the question, Why in the world do faux burgers contain canola (rapeseed) oil of all ingredients?That's one of the worst ingredients in the world! There are fats that heal and fats that kill. Canola, like most plasticized and utterly dead filtered-oils, is a killer. We can do much better than that in our test kitchen. (A: They use it because it's cheap).

The 10th annual Tree Hugging Day will take place on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, which is Spring Equinox -- the first day of spring in the western hemisphere.
This free-to-the-public event will include a "Group Tree Hug," environmentalist speakers, music, poetry, and tree huggers of all ages showing off their unique and varied tree hugging techniques.
It will take place from 6:00-7:00 pm, which is sunset in Santa Monica Bay, in the City of Santa Monica's Palisades Park at the Children's Tree of Life located at Ocean and Colorado Avenues, just north of the gateway to the Santa Monica Pier.
The family-friendly event is being sponsored by Tree Hugging Friends
(THF), founded by Santa Monica peace and environmental activists Marissa and Jerry Rubin.

The annual "hands on," tree-friendly, educational and interactive event is held to show love, support, and caring for our trees, urban forests, and environment.

April 22 is "Earth Day," celebrated around the world to remember the planet, Bhumi or Gaia or Tierra, our Mother Earth, Nature Goddess with its complex ecosystem earthlings (humans) are ruining to the detriment of all earthlings.
Today is a great day to go vegan, the single most significant an individual can do to improve health and the planet, to reduce water waste and world starvation. No movement is necessary because it's a personal choice, an action (karma) motivated by compassion for animals and other humans and oneself and wisdom.

They (the ones who do things, i.e., the powers that be) have been spraying chemtrails (aerosol toxins that modify the weather to either increase or prevent rainfall because the drought is not an entirely natural phenomenon this time around). Whenever rain is forecast because of a weather front in the distance, the planes go up and crisscross the sky. Are they after rain in a drought, or are they causing the drought in the south by shunting moisture north with particulate matter that causes flooding elsewhere?

Sometimes they start at the beaches and get blown inland. Today they were being sprayed over the San Gabriel mountains from the Inland Empire to the Pasadena foothills. It was clear blue skies with an occasional tuft of chemtrail haze.

On April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans hit the streets to protest the environmental effects of more than 100 years of uncontrolled fossil-fueled industrial development in the US. It was the first Earth Day.
What was intended to be a college campus teach-in soon spread to every community and city across the United States. It was and remains the single largest secular event in history.
The sheer size of the protest -- along with increasing visual evidence of dire health threats associated with air and toxic pollution -- soon forced Congress to pass some of the world’s toughest environmental laws, most of which include community right-to-know provisions and allow citizens to sue their government if it fails to enforce the law.

Solar plane readies to land in California by Earth Day after 3-day flight A solar-powered airplane on a journey around the world was preparing to land in California on Saturday night to complete a risky, three-day flight across the Pacific Ocean. The Solar Impulse 2 was flying in a holding pattern off the San Francisco coast on 70 percent of stored energy while waiting for winds to decrease for landing at Moffett Airfield in Mountain View.

Citizens’ rights have been enshrined in every major environmental law from that point on. These laws spawned others around the world -- many more stringent than those in the US -- and most recognize the role of citizens in the enforcement of environmental laws.
Nearly 50 years later, Earth Day remains a day of reckoning, and now more than one billion people take action each year in almost every country on Earth. Some protest, many clean up their communities and plant trees, and millions more have their first exposure to environmentalism through educational programs at schools and universities.
Governments large and small make commitments and meet with their constituents, while corporations make pledges to be more sustainable and responsible for the pollution they create.
It is fitting, then, that United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon chose Earth Day (April 22) for world leaders to sign the historic Paris climate agreement at UN headquarters in New York. At least 150 world leaders are expected to sign, making it the largest single signing of an international agreement in world history -- another Earth Day first.
And it’s happening not a moment too soon. On every front, global warming is becoming more immediate, more threatening and more irreversible, while scientific consensus and data on the health effects of climate change -- particularly on the poor -- mount. More
On a Himalayan mountainside, more than a dozen paragliding pilots were preparing to take off and ride the thermals over Nepal.
But I didn’t come here to see traditional paragliding. I came to witness parahawking -- that is, paragliding alongside trained birds of prey.
The unlikely sport was founded in 2001 by Scott Mason (pictured), a British paraglider and bird lover who wound up caring for an injured black vulture during a visit to Nepal.
In doing so, Mason learned that Asia’s vulture population was plummeting. An anti-inflammatory drug called Diclofenac that was being administered to sick livestock was also killing the vultures feeding on the animals’ carcasses. To raise awareness of the creatures’ plight, Mason founded, which offers people the chance to paraglide with the threatened birds. More
