World's largest pyramid in Mexico, not Egypt

Great Pyramid of Cholula: largest pyramid in world (Travel Landscapes Destinations)
USA's massive pyramids

El Mirador (which is Spanish for "The Lookout," "The Viewpoint," or "The Belvedere") is a large pre-Columbus Middle and Late Preclassic (1000 BC–250 AD) Maya settlement in Mesoamerica, located in the north of the modern department of El Petén, Guatemala.

It is part of the Mirador-Calakmul Karst Basin of northern Guatemala [1]. El Mirador is considered to be the most important complex of ancient cities from the Preclassic period.

Cholula Pyramid, Pueblo, Mexico, size of a mountain, topped by an imperial Catholic church
.
It features causeways and pyramids, among which the pyramid of La Danta stands out, one of the tallest and most voluminous in the world [likely the world's largest even bigger than Cholula in Mexico, Giza in Egypt, but maybe not as large as the Bosnian Pyramid or the mountain Gunung Padang in formerly Buddhist Indonesia or the world's largest excavated Buddhist temple, which is a pyramid called Borobudur].

.
The site is estimated to comprise some 800 cities, and the location of La Danta was the epicenter of trade, religious ceremonies, and the royal residence of rulers. Furthermore, the city was interconnected with others via 13 causeways, representing its power over the other Mayan cities in the region [2].

El Mirador has white roads measuring 40 meters wide and between 2 and 5 meters high, forming what researchers consider the world's first highway system or superhighway [3]. More

California has hole bigger than Grand Canyon

Johannes Van Meter, Crystal Quintero, CC Liu (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly Wikipedia edit

San Francisco Bay under Golden Gate Bridge
Monterey Canyon is a submarine canyon in Monterey Bay, California, near San Francisco.

It has steep canyon walls measuring a full 1 mile in height from bottom to top. Its height and depth rivals that of the great Grand Canyon.

Wiki image conceals shore and size of canyon.
It is the largest such submarine canyon along the west coast of the North American continent. It i snot know how it was formed. The only theory allowed is insufficient to explain it, saying it was by a process known as turbidity current erosion.

Many questions remain unresolved regarding the nature of its origins. As such it is the subject of several ongoing geological and marine life studies being carried out by science.

Researchers studying it are stationed at the nearby Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, the Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, and other oceanographic institutions.

OUR MOOD: "That sinking feeling"
Monterey Canyon begins at Moss Landing, California, which is situated along the middle of the coast of Monterey Bay, and extends horizontally 95 miles (153 km) under the Pacific Ocean.

It terminates at Monterey Canyon submarine fan, reaching depths of up to 11,800 feet (3,600 meters) below surface level at its downstream mouth.

It is a part of the greater Monterey Bay Canyon System, which consists of Monterey, Soquel, and Carmel Canyons.

The canyon's depth and nutrient availability (due to the regular influx of nutrient-rich sediment) provide a habitat suitable for many marine life forms.

World's largest pyramid discovered in Mexico!

Stacy Liberatore (Daily Mail); Wiki; Pfc. Sandoval, Crystal Quintero, Xochitl, Wisdom Quarterly
World's largest excavated Buddhist monument is "mountain": Borobudur (aamls2015.org)

Although Tlachihualtepetl ("Artificial Mountain") is the largest pyramid on the planet, experts are still trying to unravel its secrets. It's believed to have been constructed around 300 BCE, but by who still remains a mystery. From the 1930s until today, great efforts have been made to fully excavate the pyramid. Over five miles of tunnels have been dug inside the structure that are open to the public. However, the locals Native Americans (descendants of Aztecs and Maya) have also reclaimed the pyramid as their own.

Modern insane asylum revealed pyramid.
The world's largest pyramid is hidden inside a mountain in Mexico: Early invaders built a Catholic church on top of a hill [to displace local worship at] the Great Pyramid of Cholula which lay beneath their construction.
  • The Great Pyramid of Cholula was discovered in 1910 by construction workers building an insane asylum.
  • Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Remediosa ["Church of Our Lady of the 'Remediated'"] was built on top following the Spanish invaders conquering the city.
  • The pyramid, or Tlachihualtepetl, is 450 meters wide and 66 meters tall and built sometime around 300 BCE.
  • Experts say it was built thousands of years before the marauding Spanish came and was already overgrown with vegetation.
The local Indians and Mexicans call this massive formation Tlachihualtepetl, or "man-made mountain." Because a Catholic church was built on top, it is also the oldest continuously occupied building in North America. History suggests that when the murderer Cortez arrived in Cholula from Europe, the pyramid was already thousands of years old and entirely overgrown by vegetation (Daily Mail).
Mexico is full of pyramids greater than those of Egypt. This one at Teotihuacan may have a massive, uncovered king's tomb which when revealed rewrites the history of the Old World and New (utaot.com).
.
This pyramid is far smaller than Cholula.
A small building in Mexico tells the violent history of European treachery and conquest at the great Aztec city of Cholula -- but for hundreds of years, a secret lay beneath its floors.

Hiding under the grass, trees, and soil sits the Great Pyramid of Cholula, deemed the largest monument ever built on Earth, with a base four times the size of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

In 1519, [racist, rapist, and European conqueror] Hernan Cortez and his men marched into the city and massacred 10 percent of the population, building a tiny Catholic church on top of a massive hill as a symbol of their conquest.

[More likely it was built to continue oppressing the local people by defiling their indigenous culture and monuments and replacing them with the Eurocentric Roman Catholic model of world conquest still haunting the planet, particularly the Third World]. And it wasn't until 1910 that the pyramid underneath was finally discovered.

The Great Pyramid of Cholula is 450 meters wide and 66 meters tall. It has been compared to the size of nine Olympic sized swimming pools. Not only is this structure the largest pyramid on the planet, but it is also the largest monument ever built (Daily Mail).
.
The mountain under church is the pyramid.
Cholula is located near the capital Tenochtitlan and was one of the most important cities in the Aztec Empire.

It was home to about 100,000 people and known for its bustling markets and fine trade goods.

The city was believed to be incredibly sacred, so much so that the Native American (Aztec) people constructed a holy pyramid for every day of the year, reports Zaria Gorvett with BBC.com. More

World's largest excavated Buddhist monument

The Great Buddhist Pyramid at Borobudur, Java, Indonesia (lonelyplanet.com)

"Bells" (stupas) on top suggest time travel.
Interestingly, the Muslims did the same thing to the Buddhists in Indonesia. Buddhists built the largest known Buddhist temple in the world in Central Java, Borobudur. When the Muslim invaders came to convert or kill the locals -- just like the Christian Saint Constantine had done around the world for Christianity/Catholicism centuries -- they found an incomprehensible stone monument with Buddhas in stupa mounds on top. They couldn't destroy because it was far too large, strong, and well built. Instead, they buried it. Centuries later a British surveyor realized that there shouldn't be a mountain there, so he dug and realized it was actually a mountain-size temple. Chinese Buddhists also have massive pyramids they are not generally recognized for. Why? It is because there used to be a worldwide culture that communicated between all the lands and people, and off-planet help was provided to both inspire and erect these monuments, but that is "forbidden" archeology.

China's landscape is littered with enormous pyramids and hundreds of ancient blond mummies with Caucasoid features. The discoveries in the 1980s of the undisturbed 4,000-year-old "Beauty of Loulan" and the 3,000-year-old "Charchan Man" are legendary in archaeology for their fine states of preservation (Atlantean Gardens).

The Great Pyramid of Cholula (Tlachihualtepetl)

The Great Pyramid of Cholula, also known as Tlachihualtepetl (the indigenous pre-Spanish Nahuatl language word for "artificial mountain"), is a huge complex located in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico.

It is the largest archaeological site of a pyramid (temple) in the New World, as well as the largest pyramid known to exist in the world today. The pyramid stands 180 ft. (55 meters) above the surrounding plain, and in its final form it measured 1,300 by 1,300 ft. (400 by 400 meters).

The pyramid is a temple that traditionally has been viewed as having been dedicated to the god Quetzalcoatl (above).

The architectural style of the building was linked closely to that of Teotihuacan in the Valley of Mexico, although influence from the Gulf Coast also is evident, especially from El Tajín. More

Nagas in the News: world's largest dinosaur

CC Liu, Crystal Quintero, Wisdom Quarterly; Science Editor Ian Sample (theguardian.com)
(Discovery Dinosaurs) "The Best of Discovery Dinosaurs" Enter the prehistoric world when dinosaurs ruled. See them hunt and battle. See them roam in massive herds. Go back in time and experience what dinosaur life was like on Earth.

The world's largest nagas still roam the seas, allegedly in increasing numbers (wiki)

  • In Buddhism a naga means a "large creature," but the word generally designates a reptilian, reptoid-hybrid, dragon, or snake, such as the king cobra. See sutra below. The titans (asuras) were enormous and ill-disposed creatures who fell to Earth.
  • Dreadnoughtus schrani ("dread nothing," the fearless) unearthed in Argentina is most complete skeleton of plant-eating titanosaur recovered anywhere in world.
  • The unearthed specimen is 26-metre (metre=3 feet, 4 inches) long, making it the largest dinosaur ever known to have existed.

The spectacular remains of one of the largest beasts ever to walk the planet have been unearthed by fossil hunters in southern Patagonia.

The unique haul of bones includes a metre-wide neck vertebra, a thigh bone that stands as tall as a man, and ribs the size of planks, representing the most complete skeleton of a colossal plant-eating titanosaur recovered anywhere in the world.

Living relic shark
The new species was so enormous that researchers named it Dreadnoughtus schrani after the dreadnought battleships of the early 20th century on the grounds that it would fear nothing that crossed its path.

From measurements of the bones, scientists worked out that Dreadnoughtus weighed nearly 60 tonnes (131,276 lbs) and reached 26 metres from snout to tail, making it the largest land animal for which an accurate body mass can be calculated.

The colossal dreadnoughts lived around 77 million years ago in a temperate forest at the southern tip of South America.

Its bodyweight equates to as many as a dozen African elephants or more than seven of the Tyrannosaurs rex species, according to Kenneth Lacorvara, a paleontologist at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Details of the find are published in the journal, Scientific Reports.

Another giant prehistoric animal, Argentinosaurus, was probably of comparable size but its dimensions are known only from a clutch of backbone vertebrae... More + VIDEO

Nagas still lurk in rivers as they did in the Buddha's time. Here one, a Behemoth fish or arapaima, is dredged out of the Amazon river in South America, August 2014. The bigger a creature, the more likely it is to be vegetarian because such a diet is more efficient.

Buddhist naga: seven-headed hydra Mucalinda
John D. Ireland (Muccalinda Sutra, Ud 2.1) edited by Dhr. Seven, Wisdom Quarterly
Seven headed Muccalinda (Tamchurch/flickr)
Thus have I heard. At one time the Blessed One was staying at Uruvela next to the river Nerañjara at the foot of the Mucalinda Tree, having just realized full enlightenment.

At that time he sat cross-legged for seven days experiencing the bliss of liberation.

Now it happened that there occurred out of season a great rainstorm. For seven days there were rain clouds, cold winds, and unsettled weather. Then the naga-king Mucalinda left his dwelling and encircled the Blessed One's body seven times with his coils. He stood with his great hood spread over the him (thinking) to protect him from cold and heat, from gadflies, mosquitoes, wind, sun, and the touch of creeping things.

At the end of those seven days the Blessed One emerged from that profound concentration [samadhi, jhana, absorption]. Then the naga-king Mucalinda, seeing that the sky had cleared and the rain clouds passed, removed his coils. Changing his appearance [by the reptilian shapeshifting power of transformation] and assuming the appearance of a youth, he stood in front of the [Buddha] with his hands folded together [in anjali mudra] venerating him.

Then, on realizing the significance of this, the Blessed One uttered on that occasion this inspired utterance:

Blissful is detachment for one who is content,
For one who has realized Dharma and who sees;
Blissful is non-affliction in the world,
Restraint towards all living creatures;

Blissful is passionlessness in the world,
The overcoming of sensual desires;
But the abandoning of the [deluded] conceit "I am"*
-- That is truly the supreme bliss.

*NOTE: Dependent Origination is expressed in terms of processes -- events and actions -- without reference to a self. It does not depend on the existence or non-existence of agents performing actions or a framework in time and space in which these processes happen. This makes it possible to understand the causes of suffering and disappointment without the existence or non-existence of an "I" or "other" responsible for those events. Instead, events are viewed simply as events within an impersonal process. This right view makes it possible to abandon clinging to these events, which brings about an end to suffering in accord with what's true. Ideas of an "I" or "other" are seen simply as part of the process (mere formations like the sub-factor of attention under "name" in name-and-form). This is what makes possible the abandoning of attachment to the conceit "I am," as mentioned in Inspired Utterances (Udana) 2:1, 4:1, 6:6, and 7:1. In this way, the treatment of Dependent Origination in the first three udānas, while terse, sets the stage for understanding some of the more paradoxical teachings that appear later in the sutra collection (based on note by Ven. Thanissaro).
