The Boy Scouts of America filed for bankruptcy this year. But it wasn’t a signal of the organization going under. It was an exercise in self-preservation.
With claims of homosexual child molestation, rape, sodomy, and abuse mounting against the organization’s leaders, a court-enforced deadline was set for victims to come forward.
Within nine months nearly 100,000 had filed claims — which far eclipses the number of priest on child sexual-abuse allegations the Holy Roman Catholic Church faced in the early 2000s from its pedophile priests, bishops, and cardinals' criminal and hypocritical activities with children.
Today, The Daily hears from one of the molestation victims, Dave Henson, a 40-year-old U.S. naval officer.
As a scout he was groomed, raped, and sexually abused for five years by one of the Boy Scout troop’s leaders. His emotional trauma, alcoholism, and questioning followed. Now he has joined the ranks of thousands of alleged victims seeking redress from the criminal organization that is the Boy Scouts of America. More
