"The Magic of Letters" (NPR)

This I Believe (NPR)

NEPAL -- Weekend Edition Sunday (2/5/09), Nepalese activist Chameli Waiba believes letters and words have the power to change lives.
(Editorial Note: This is in stark contrast to the thesis that it was the hyper-masculinization of world cultures through letters and words, intellect, and non-eidetic communication that led to the untenable situation the world now finds itself in; nevertheless, words and stifling constrictions on communication won out, and women were very clearly left behind. The contrast is starker for nominally-Hindu Buddhists in rural areas. Therefore, any improvement in equality benefits everyone and in that sense can be counted a good thing).
