While California has
two-thirds of the nation’s earthquake risk, relatively few residents
have acted to secure their homes and reduce injuries from earthquakes.
So the
California Earthquake Authority (CEA) and American Red Cross (Red Cross)
have joined forces to help more people prepare to survive from
California’s next damaging earthquake.
CEA and Red
Cross are working together to deliver important information on
earthquake preparedness by combining Red Cross’s expertise on preparing a
kit, making a family disaster plan, and being informed, with CEA’s
expertise on residential insurance and structural mitigation.
To help
motivate more Californians to increase their earthquake preparedness,
the Joined Forces supports a unique Get Prepared, California! AuctionSM in April, the Traveling Red Table™ tour, and the Great California ShakeOut™ in October. More
