Over 30 days ago, community members set up "Occupy ICE LA 24/7" at the Metro Detention Center on Alameda (Downtown Los Angeles), where DHS officers are stationed.

Protesters are monitoring DHS activity around the clock, alerting neighbors when raids occur, and supporting families whose loved ones are detained at the MDC.

An 8-foot-tall black metal fence was installed along the perimeter of the driveway leading to the Metropolitan Detention Center (a federal detention facility) in downtown Los Angeles—often referred to as the LA Detention Center.

Details of the installation: The fence was erected this Thursday (i.e., today), suggesting a deliberate effort to reinforce perimeter security. Multiple sources, including Threads and TikTok outlets, confirm the fence's appearance, noting its placement along the driveway area of the federal facility.

Children as young as 12 abused by officers, who laugh and encourage them to hurt each other for their entertainment during 69 violent fights involving 143 child-convicts who are then told not to report it or seek medical attention for their injuries. Hurry up and wait in that cell, convict!

It’s been more than a year since three inmates escaped from a maximum security wing at the Santa Ana Central Men’s Jail in Orange County.
 

A week passed before the manhunt ended in San Francisco, where two of the inmates were captured [after hanging out in the Whole Foods parking lot]. The third escapee turned himself in to local authorities.

NBC4 obtained a video taken by the three men who escaped a maximum-security wing at an Orange County jail last year, using a contraband cellphone.

But a new video from a lawyer connected to the case was released this week to KPCC FM media partner NBC4. The cell (mobile) phone video is shot in first-person by one of the three inmates who broke out of the O.C. prison, showing both the escape and the days following during their run.

 

The footage has one of the escaped prisoners, Adam Hossein Nayeri, debunking [false] claims that [officials at] the jail made about their escape. This has led to questions about jail security and the transparency over what happened during the incident.

DETAILS, DETAILS: This video has emerged, showing how three prisoners broke out of the Central Men's Jail in Santa Ana, California earlier this year. The video was shot on a contraband cellphone and shows the three inmates escaping through a vent which led to the roof. However, the video doesn't show how they got off the roof (using high tension industrial rope not as officials lied about saying it was sheets tied together). Authorities lied to protect themselves when they said the trio used a chain of bed linens to get off the roof, and the media bought it and reported it without questioning or pushing back on the claim. The video also includes several photos that the three men took during their nearly a week on the run. The men are seeing smiling at the beach with a cabbie who they allegedly took hostage and forced to drive them to San Francisco. In other photos, they smile and pose in front of the Haight-Ashbury intersection (SF's hippie district). The video ends with two of the escapees smoking marijuana in the back of a van just two hours before they were recaptured. LA Sheriff’s deputy accused of sexual misconduct [rape] with female minor [cadet]

A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy is being investigated for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a female minor in the department’s Deputy Explorer Program.

Sources within the department say a deputy is on leave for allegations of misconduct which include sex with a minor, underage drinking, and the sharing of inappropriate photographs.

The deputy was assigned to the sheriff’s station in Carson [unincorporated Los Angeles, near Long Beach].

In a statement, the Sheriff’s Department says it has been made aware of an allegation raised pertaining to a sworn member of the Department in connection with a Deputy Explorer.

This revelation comes during a time when the LAPD is dealing with its own controversy involving the alleged sexual relationship between an officer and a 15-year-old female cadet.

Robert Cain, 31, has been charged with six felony counts of sexual assault.

The 15-year-old is among seven other cadets who were arrested for allegedly stealing several patrol cars and police equipment.
 

Meanwhile, corrupt Sheriff Baca not jailed.

Cain, a 10-year veteran of the department [LAPD], is in jail in San Bernardino County where he is also facing 10 felony weapons charges.

According to prosecutors, Cain befriended the 15-year-old girl and sexually assaulted her three times at three different locations.

Undersheriff Paul Tanaka] to derail a federal investigation into corruption and felonious police beatings of innocent detainees awaiting trial in the nation's largest jail system.

(AP) The charges that carry up to 20 years in prison come just days after Baca withdrew a guilty plea to lying to investigators and said he would go to trial to "set the record straight" before he is incapacitated by Alzheimer's disease.

 

Baca, 74, made the decision knowing federal prosecutors were likely to bring stiffer charges, but his lawyers said he didn't have much choice when negotiations collapsed after a federal judge rejected a plea deal as too lenient. That agreement called for no more than six months behind bars.

 

I told you it was all Baca, says Tanaka.

Defense lawyer Michael Zweiback said it appeared the judge was seeking several years in prison, and Baca needed certainty because his condition has already started to deteriorate. "We have a very, very small window of time that we believe Mr. Baca's life will be normal," he said Monday. 

"If there was a possibility that he was going to go beyond his good years in prison, then he should go out and fight."

 

Baca is now facing the original charge of lying to federal authorities and new charges of obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice. Defense lawyers had anticipated the stiffer charges, and said Friday that they represent punishment for Baca's decision to go to trial. More

We previously reported that the Sheriff was going to jail, pleading guilty in a sweetheart deal to spend fewer than six months actually locked up for a career full of crimes and misdemeanors.

His fall guy was the criminal undersheriff Paul Tanaka, second in command, who ordered deputies at the LA Men's Jail to beat prisoners and deprive them of their civil liberties. He was recently sentenced to five years in prison because he was so arrogant that he refused any deal that would damage his reputation, pension, or standing among underlings who looked up to him as the man who protected their official misconduct.

Twenty-one corrupt members of the department, 9 directly involved, have already been sentenced in relation to an FBI sting operation. Refusing to lose face, Tanaka took the stand in his own defense and when he saw that his cover story was getting him nowhere, changed his tune and ratted out former LA Sheriff Lee Baca, his boss. Tanaka claims Baca knew about everything that was going on and tacitly approved. Baca was a very hands on type manager and it was preposterous to believe that all of his department was raging out of control as he sat oblivious above it all collecting nearly $300,000 annual salary. His pension today is about $260,000 today.

And his attorneys claim his very "early stage Alzheimer's" should mean he serves zero days in jail or state prison. But yesterday a federal judge threw out the sweet deal corrupt insider prosecutors had arranged and agreed to. The judge says such a light sentence "trivializes" the seriousness of Baca's crimes under color of uniform. It's one thing for ordinary citizens to break the law.

It is a whole other thing for corrupt officials to destroy confidence in policing, to encourage abuses and promote felonies among the very people hired and paid to protect the public. Baca should face no less than five years in prison, like his undersheriff who go off lightly given all the crimes he committed, and presumably much longer given the gravity of his actions and position. Why is he receiving such a handsome pension when he was a criminal at the helm?

He is an admitted "liar" and needs to face the justice he was so eager to dole out over his long career now defamed by being found out. This is a most unexpected turn in the land of "politics as usual." And cries are getting louder to throw out our other resident criminal, LAPD Chief Charles Beck. These official seem to think their main task is protecting their employees from ever facing consequences for beating, abusing, raping, and murdering Angelenos they come in contact with.

All of these high crimes come about from contact on the streets as well as the jail system, often just a temporary detention center for innocent people awaiting trial and not serving any sentence whatsoever, filled to overcapacity by the LAPD and run by the LA County Sheriff's Department.

So he may get out of prison time -- though he will be sentenced to at least 6 months in jail and may be forced to serve some of it, at least symbolically. Baca has already been convicted and is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty when cutting a special deal to not prosecute his other crimes and only give him at most half-a-year for a petty offense. LA's is a criminal, a convict now, and now he would have us believe he is an invalid also, too frail for jail.

Tanaka, the former second-in-command, is charged with obstruction of justice and conspiracy in a sweeping federal investigation into abuses and corruption in L.A.'s jail system. Federal prosecutors have accused Tanaka of masterminding a plot to thwart the FBI's investigation into the jails — largely by moving a jail information from jail to jail to keep him away from investigators.

They've also accused Tanaka of creating a culture of violence in jails and turning a blind eye to deputy misconduct. Eight former department employees have already been convicted for their roles in the case. Tanaka's ex-boss, former Sheriff Lee Baca, pleaded guilty to lying to investigators and will be sentenced next month.

Tanaka testified for nearly three hours in what was the main event of the day, according to Celeste Fremon of Witness L.A., who's been following the trial. The prosecution rested Friday morning after a week and a half of testimony on Tanaka's alleged crimes.

Tanaka answered questions trying to dismantle the structure of the prosecution's arguments Friday, Fremon said. The judge began to allow cross-examination, but when prosecutor Brandon Fox started to ask about Tanaka's involvement with the deputy gang known as the Vikings, the defense objected. More + AUDIO

The former Sheriff Lee Baca bailed out to avoid prosecution and left the department to his heir-apparent Paul Tanaka, a corrupt official who is a member of a police-gang. Both engaged in felonies, but Baca was smart enough to make a deal, plead guilty to a lesser charge in exchange for a sweetheart deal, and is awaiting sentencing. But Tanaka failed in his election bid to succeed Baca and is now exposed. Seven previous sheriff and L.A. Men's Jail officials have already been found guilty and sentenced. Tanaka is next, and he is dropping the criminal "code of silence" and blaming Baca. But it's too late. Baca already made his deal, and Tanaka as a minority is set to become the sacrificial lamb. Police often commit crimes, but when the pressure gets really bad one member of the force, almost always a racial minority is sent to slaughter to prove that police can police themselves. They cannot. Tanaka tried to lie his way out of it, but he failed on the stand. He is to be sentenced soon. The Occupy Movement was against criminal bankers and police state troops. And what has happened since the parks were occupied? The slow hand of justice has turned on the very officials that run the show -- bankers, money managers, cops, sheriff's deputies. Occupy said, "There's the problem right there, right in the officials most people put their trust in." What chance do we have if we keep believing liars? Vote for Hillary Clinton and face four to eight years of more-of-the-same? Obama was a great disappointment, promoting Bush Administration policies and seeing them through. [He quickly left office to try to avoid indictment and prosecution for numerous crime and years of official corruption.] In a dramatic turn for a former top cop, retired Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca was due in a federal courtroom to plead guilty to a single felony charge of lying to investigators, prosecutors said.

 

Baca, 73, falsely told investigators he had no idea his deputies planned to approach and threaten an FBI agent in 2011 because she was probing allegations of corruption and civil rights violations inside his former lockups, the U.S. attorney's office said. [In fact, he put them up to it, acting like a Mafia crime boss directing henchmen to terrorize witnesses.]

 

The plea deal calls for a maximum of six months behind bars, but the actual sentence will be determined by a federal judge, according to court filings obtained by the Daily News.

As a result, two deputies approached the agent outside her home on September 26, 2011, and threatened her with arrest, prosecutors said.

 

Officials said it was during a 2013 meeting with the FBI and assistant U.S. attorneys that Baca denied any participation in the 2011 meetings.
