A Night at The Garden in 1939 (Field of Vision)

Prof. Ben-Ghiat argues that Trump's use of the hallmarks of "fascism and violence" -- including dehumanizing rhetoric, profane and crude discriminatory language, and threats to the "enemy within" -- echoes the rise of midcentury fascist rulers like and Adolf Hitler and Fran Franco.

Curry attended the rally and also directed the short film A Night at the Garden, about the 1939 Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden. He notes, "The demagogues in 1939 used the same tactics that we see today."

(TheUntoldPast) One of the strangest events to take place around the time of WW II has to be the Nazi rally that took place in one of the world's most famous entertainment venues, New York's Madison Square Garden.

• Was Hitler-supporting Prescott S. Bush, the forebear of CIA Chief George H. Bush and US Pres. George W. Bush (puppet of fellow war criminal VP Dick Cheney) holding a swastika, a portrait of the Fuhrer, or a white supremacy banner?

Prior to the American involvement in Hitler's war, there was an American group that supported Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party.

Known as the German American Bund, they had thousands of racist members in the USA. There were numerous white supremacist groups like this around the world outside of Germany.

However, what is the story of their 1939 rally in the most famous entertainment venue in the world (site of Led Zeppelin's greatest concert when the British invaded the US)?

Medical Study: Yoga helps with Asthma

(HealthDayNews) -- Study finds practice can ease symptoms, raise awareness of breathing patterns. Settling into a warrior or tree pose a few times a week seems to improve symptoms and quality of life for people with asthma.

In fact, participants in a recent trial studying the effects of Hatha yoga also reported that they had been able to cut back on some of their asthma medication, said Amy Bidwell, senior author of a study presented this week at the American College of Sports Medicine's annual meeting, in Seattle.

"It's dramatic but not surprising," said Dr. Jonathan Field, director of the allergy and asthma clinic at New York University School of Medicine/Bellevue Medical Center in New York City. "There have been some smaller studies that have stated this before, but I don't think they've ever used a standardized scale of this sort." More>>
