Antiracism, Anticapitalism, and the Eugenics Origins of IQ and SAT tests
(Aug. 13, 2019) A week after the deadly, racist mass-shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, Democracy Now! hosts author Ibram X. Kendi.

Kendi is the founding director of the Antiracist Research and Policy Center at American University and author of the new book How to Be an Antiracist out today.

He discusses the ways in which racist acts of mass violence have been revolutionized by America's gun culture. He also sheds light on the ways racism has been perpetuated throughout U.S. history, from the development of standardized IQ tests concocted by eugenicists to the interwoven history of racism and capitalism in the American economy.
