It may upend a common idea of tourist destinations, but the seafaring village of Reine, on the Norway's fjord-littered Moskenesøya Island, sees a fair number of visitors.

Despite its remote location inside the Arctic Circle, the village -- and several other towns in the Lofoten archipelago -- attracts many tourists who come for the breathtaking views.

History was made here, too: "Operation Anklet" was a raid on the Lofoten Islands by Norwegian, Polish, and British forces during World War II.

The operation destroyed German radio transmitter ships and also found an "Enigma" cipher machine on one of them. Recovery of the machine allowed cryptologists to crack its code, which helped swing the war in favor of the Allies.

An amateur cameraman claims he spotted a mysterious figure while hunting in some Norwegian woods. Uploader MicroRT55 explained under his "Bigfoot Encounter" video: "I thought it was a bear. I was hunting in the woods. But then I saw this thing."

The clip shows the hairy figure rising from some vegetation before casually walking out of shot. So it appears the famous Sasquatch cryptid may have [a relative in Scandinavia, just as legends abound of such "wild men" humanoid creatures existing in all countries], unless the legendary creature has some European cousins.
