Synthetic cannabis; deadly new opioid

Worse than fentanyl, carfentanil (Wildnil), tranq
Careful, kids. There's a new danger on the block. Nitazenes are a chemically defined class of substances derived from the parent compound nitazene. They were developed in the second half of the 1950s by the Swiss pharmaceutical giant Ciba AG as pain-relieving agents.

Big Pharma to blame for making obscene profits?
They are important as centrally active, selective μ-opioid receptor agonists. The high potency of fentanyl (in humans) is matched by only a few nitazenes and surpassed by etonitazene and isotonitazene.

Due to unacceptable side effects, nitazenes were never included in the pharmacopoeia of human or veterinary medicine.

Deadly fake weed Delta-8

Since 2019, highly potent nitazenes have proliferated as ″new synthetic opioids″ in the North American and European narcotics markets and as such have become a formative component of the opioid epidemic in the United States. Overdoses of nitazene opioids have led to several hundred documented fatalities [1].

Trump causes stock crisis, protests

Top U.S. and World Headlines — Monday, Feb. 3, 2025
‎شرش | Shoresh | שר”ש‎ (@shoresh_us)
Trump is a disrupter. Is that good in a bad government? It should be, but as it comes on the backs of the most vulnerable, it is despicable. What does Trump stand for? More war in Israel, more government funding for weapons? Trump, perhaps bluffing, speaks of American imperialism in Greenland, Canada, Mexico, and Panama. He is taking residents of this nation and rounding them up with a Gestapo like force. Meanwhile, Chicagoan and Israeli strongman Bibi Netanyahu visits the U.S. to celebrate Trump's rule.

Can a Jew rise above fascism and not be ruined by it?

Street drugs laced with toxin for mass ODs

People gather outside the Savage Sisters' community outreach storefront in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. The area is being hit hard by Medetomidine and Xylazine, powerful sedatives most often used by veterinarians that are moving through the illicit drug supply triggering "mass overdose" events and causing gruesome skin wounds (Matt Rourke/AP).

Drug dealing gangs mix another deadly sedative into U.S. street drugs causing 'mass overdoses'
The Least of Us on fentanyl and meth
(NPR, May 29, 2024) Public health officials say Mexican cartels and drug gangs inside the U.S. are mixing a dangerous chemical sedative called medetomidine into fentanyl and other drugs sold on the street.

The combination triggered a new wave of overdoses that began in late April 2024 and have accelerated in May.

"The numbers reported out of Philadelphia were 160 hospitalizations over a 3 or 4-day period," said Alex Krotulski, who heads an organization called NPS Discovery that studies illicit drugs sold in the U.S.

Medetomidine, most often used by veterinarians as an animal tranquilizer, but also formulated for use in human patients, has also been linked to recent “mass overdose outbreaks” in Chicago and Pittsburgh.

Experts say the chemical, mixed into counterfeit pills and powders sold on the street, slows the human heart rate to dangerous levels. It's impossible for drug users to detect.

Public health advisories have been issued in Illinois and Pennsylvania. Dr. Brendan Hart at Temple University in Philadelphia says they first began hearing reports of street drug users exposed to the fentanyl-medetomidine mix in April 2024.

Sam Quinones
"Some of our emergency medicine doctors started stopping me in the hallway," Dr. Hart told NPR. "They said, 'Something funny is going on with the overdoses.'

"Patients were coming in with very low heart rates, as low as in the 20s. A normal heartrate is 60 to 100 [beats per minute], so 20s is extremely low."

Laboratory tests of street drug samples came back positive for the powerful sedative, which is used in some formulations by doctors with human patients, but only in carefully controlled medical settings.

Medetomidine was previously detected in the illicit drug supply as early as 2022 but only rarely and in small amounts. This time experts say it appears to be spreading rapidly, with large-scale overdose events also reported earlier this year in Toronto, Canada.

U.S. drug supply grows more toxic
Last year the Biden administration issued a warning that street fentanyl was being mixed with another tranquilizer used by veterinarians called xylazine.

That mix of drugs led to more overdoses and many users also experience terrible flesh wounds that can linger for months or years. Medetomidine is even more powerful than xylazine, experts told NPR.

As it spreads, Krotulski said no one knows what long-term health effects this new cocktail of chemicals will cause in the human body.

"Patients are being cared for as we speak in emergency rooms," he said. "These are very complex drug products. You’ve got fentanyl adulterated with xylazine that now also contains medetomidine." More: Warnings of new deadly chemical in street drug supply

Sex scandal: Nun 'sexting with priest'

Aurora Bosotti, 6/30/23 | UPDATED; Crystal Q., Seth Auberon (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
Mistakes were made. I was on fentanyl. But what's his excuse? I'm suing! Rev. Mother Superior
Teresa Agnes Gerlach was ousted from her convent on 6/1/23 (CBS News•Fort Worth Diocese).

The ousted nun had previously rejected claims that she had violated her vows of celibacy after allegedly confessing to the technological (and sinful) relationship while under the influence of fentanyl.

A Texas Catholic Carmelite nun, not a mere sister but the mother superior, who was accused of having an illicit sexual affair with a Catholic priest was evicted from her nunnery (convent) after admitting to sexting the man of the cloth.

Rev. Gerlach has sued Bishop Olson
Rev. Mother Superior Teresa Agnes Gerlach, 43, had previously denied the accusation and launched a $1 million lawsuit alongside her sisters against Bishop of Fort Worth Michael Olson.

The bishop secured a confession about the scandalous affair during an interview on April 24, 2023, in which Rev. Gerlach maintains she was still heavily medicated and under the influence of fentanyl because of a recent surgery.

The nun, who is in a wheelchair and uses a feeding tube on a day-to-day basis, was removed from the Carmelite Nunnery of the Most Holy Trinity she led in Arlington, Texas, on June 1, 2023, after the patriarchal diocese found she had had a fling with Father Bernard Marie of Montana
  • [who is completely innocent because he is a man and the church needs all the priests it can lure in and hold on to, even if they engage in homosexual child molestation of young boys, gambling, seducing nuns, or other improprieties because, as Pope Francis, the CEO of the Catholic Church of the head of the Holy Roman Church, has said, "Who am I to judge?"]

In a recording of the interview with Bishop Olson, Rev. Gerlach can be heard saying: "I made a horrible, horrible mistake. I was not in my right mind. Even a nun can fall.”

The Fort Worth Diocese and Rev. Gerlach are currently in dispute on whether the case should be handled in civil court or let the Vatican intervene in what the bishop has maintained is a Canon Law issue.

Bishop Olson testified in court that Gerlach's fellow nun Sr. Francis Therese had informed him the Mother Superior's relationship with the priest involved "sexting."

In the audio recording, Rev. Gerlach said she had been getting [sexually] frisky with the priest, but just on the phone, oh, and on video calls. But she said they never met in person.

She said: "Bishop, I need to tell you something. I don’t know how to explain this, but this did not happen in person. At all. It was all over the phone.

"I promise you, Bishop. At the time, I was having seizures [a sign of demonic possession in the Church], and I was really in a very difficult position. and I think my brain just got really messed up." More

Let's get zombified on new drug Tranq (video)

In the funny cult classic, Shaun of the Dead, zombies take over, but Shaun hardly notices. We are Shaun. Look around. Something's wrong. As liberals, are we doing anything to stop it? No, we're just harm reducers, letting the capitalists and bankers who fund them rule the day. A lot of people are making a lot of money. And suffering is rampant. Dr. Gabor Mate explains the roots of the problem, but who offers an immediate solution? In the long, long term, let's fix the whole world. Until then, let's think of something compassionate and effective right now. Let's stop going to extremes.
