Happiest Place on Earth: Buddhist Bhutan

(60 Minutes Australia) Is Bhutan the Happiest Place on Earth?
Buddhism in Bhutan

Guru Rimpoche Padmasambhava
(World Travel Guides) A French man journeys to Bhutan to become a Buddhist monk. Buddhism in Bhutan. Vajrayana Buddhism is the most widely practiced religion in Bhutan. It is the state religion of Bhutan, and Buddhists comprise 75% (with Hinduism at 23%) of the population. Although the Buddhism practiced in Bhutan originated in Tibet, it differs significantly in its rituals, liturgy, and monastic organization.

What lifestyle leads to longevity?
The state religion has long been supported financially by the government through annual subsidies to Buddhist monasteries, shrines, monks, and nuns.

In the modern era, support for the state religion during the reign of Jigme Dorji Wangchuck includes the manufacture of 10,000 gilded bronze images of the Buddha, publication of elegant calligraphic editions of the 108-volume Kangyur (Collection of the Words of the Buddha) and 225-volume Tengyur (Collection of Commentaries), and the construction of numerous chorten (stupas) throughout the country. Guaranteed representation in the National Assembly and the Royal Advisory Council, Buddhists constitute the majority of society and are assured an influential voice in public policy.  🔔 @travel-guide

Buddhist Thailand and Cambodia at war

Have Israel and the CIA's crimes in Gaza made war the norm?

Thailand Cambodia War Timeline Explained?
(AiTelly) July 25, 2025: UNITED STATES. The roots of the Thailand–Cambodia border crisis stretch deep into the colonial past, when the Franco-Siamese treaties of the early 1900s left boundaries ill-defined and susceptible to later dispute.
Tensions simmered for decades, especially around ancient Buddhist temples that dot the border. Among these, Prasat Ta Muen Thom and the areas near Preah Vihear became focal points for competing national claims, bearing not just strategic significance but also the weight of cultural pride.

(DW) Could US and China become involved in neighborly dispute?
  • What's the real motive beyond the manufactured pretext? Gas or oil reserves, greed of a corrupt Thai government, greed for tourist destinations? This is not a religious dispute but an economic one, according to one Thai American Wisdom Quarterly spoke with. It is reminiscent of Israel's greed for Gaza's underground resources, preferring to let people believe it is all about ideology, national security, and a biblical dispute rather than what it really is, genocide for economic advantage.
As the year 2025 began, a sense of unease hovered along the frontier. On May 28, the fragile calm shattered. Gunfire erupted at the Emerald Triangle, where Thai and Cambodian soldiers exchanged shots.

The clash caused the lives of one Cambodian soldier, and the Blame Game began immediately, with each nation accusing the other of provocation. By June 7, the rhetoric gave way to visible preparations for confrontation.

Thailand bolstered its border positions, simultaneously leveling accusations of provocations against Cambodian forces and civilians. Throughout June and July, the border region grew ever more volatile. Spasms of minor clashes flared up, border crossings shut down, and the movement of civilians became increasingly restricted.

Military alerts were raised on both sides. The crucial turning point arrived on July 24, 2025. Before dawn, Thai troops reported the presence of Cambodian drones buzzing near Prasat Ta Muen Thom.

A patrol of six armed Cambodian soldiers soon appeared at the perimeter of a Thai base, setting nerves on edge.

Around 6:30 am, shots rang out once again. The chaos of combat bred confusion and recrimination: Cambodia accused Thailand of launching an unprovoked assault, while Thailand claimed Cambodian soldiers had fired first near the temple.

The conflict escalated with frightening speed. By 9:40 Thailand reported a salvo of B M-21 rockets arcing from Cambodian positions toward Prasat Don Tuan, their impact threatening nearby civilian neighborhoods.

Barely ten minutes later, the violence spilled to the vicinity of Ta Kwai Temple, where further clashes erupted. At 10:58 am, the smoldering border ignited fully F-16 fighter jets from the Royal Thai Air Force thundered overhead, bombing Cambodian military positions at Chong An Ma.

Thai officials declared that key Cambodian command posts had been destroyed. As the day wore on, the fighting sprawled along several kilometers of the contested boundary. Artillery thundered, rockets exploded, and both armies unleashed heavy weaponry, transforming the frontier into a battleground.

Harvard: Historical Jesus never existed

Harvard philologist says "no historical Jesus"
(MythVision Podcast) Aug. 3, 2022 Harvard philologist says there was "no historical Jesus." His name is Dr. Carl A. P. Ruck (born Dec. 8, 1935, in Bridgeport, Connecticut). He is a professor in the Classical Studies Department at Boston University. He received his B.A. at Yale University, his master's at the University of Michigan, and his doctoral (Ph.D.) degree at Harvard University. He lives in Hull, Massachusetts.

Prof. Ruck is best known for his work along with other scholars in mythology and religion on the sacred role of entheogens (that bring out the divine from within), which are psychoactive plants that induce altered states of consciousness. They have been used in religious and shamanic rituals for millennia.

Dr. Ruck's focus has been on the use of entheogens in classical Western culture, as well as their historical influence on modern Western religions. He currently teaches mythology at Boston University that presents this theory in depth. #mythvision #historicaljesus #mythicist

US Christians trying to convert Gaza Muslims

Pfc. Sandoval, Shauna Schwartz, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
Come, Gaza, join my Nordic religion led by a Middle Eastern Jew, whose members led Crusades
For the poor Palestinians suffering the murder of 1% of their population, give to Jews

.
Jesus was a Black Palestinian Jew
Do Americans forget, or did they never learn in school, that Western armies always came in two waves, first the male soldiers then the male priests. "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition." It's hegemony, settler colonialism, invasion, rape, enslavement, genocide, and conversion to Christianity. Did Emperor Constantine dream it up for the Roman Empire, the princes (popes) of the Church for the Holy Roman Catholic Empire, the British for world domination?

An ex-terrorist confirms mass visions [dreams] of Jesus in Gaza, says thousands of Muslims will come to Christ [one way or another]
(CBN News) Jan. 18, 2024: [Now that we've got them right where we want them with the help of our friends and war-partners the Israeli Jews, let's move in and take control of their hearts, minds, and souls. Once we control their religion, we can control them completely.]

A former Palestinian sniper turned Christian believes revival will break out in Gaza and thousands will come to Christ after the end of the Israeli war on Gaza and Hamas.

Taysir "Tass" Abu Saada, a former aide to the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, recently told CBN News' Global Lane that God's Holy Spirit is already changing Palestinian hearts through dreams and visions. [Lies or mass hallucinations?]

"Many Muslims are looking for an alternative to Islam," he said. "My team is, naturally, sharing Christ. So we are looking at a good revival going on already in the Gaza Strip."

Battle of the Boyne – 1690 – Williamite War in Ireland
(History Media-HD) The Battle of the Boyne was fought in 1690 between two rival claimants of the English, Scottish, and Irish thrones – the Catholic King James and the Protestant King William – across the River Boyne near Drogheda on the east coast of Ireland.

The battle, won by William, was a turning point in James's unsuccessful attempt to regain the crown and ultimately helped ensure the continuation of Protestant ascendancy in Ireland.

The battle took place on July 1, 1690, in the "old style" calendar. This was equivalent to July 11 in the "new style" calendar, although today its commemoration is held on July 12th.

William's forces defeated James's army of mostly raw recruits. The symbolic importance of this battle has made it one of the most remembered.

Why religion hates LGBT/gays (Pope/gurus)

I. Rony, eds., Wisdom Quarterly; Vasudev Sadhguru (isha.sadhguru.org/IshaKriya)

Why religion is against gays and lesbians?
"I'm not a prude," insists Sadhguru at a "Youth and Truth" mass conference in India, pandering to an audience of mostly pro-LGBTQIA... young people.

India has been subject to the same propaganda the West has as LGBT+ plans go worldwide. Is it a natural (grassroots) groundswell or an imposed agenda by the powers-that-be?

Pope, how are Catholics to believe and act?

Hey, look at me. I'm cool. Just ask Tom Bray.
It hardly seems to be coming from people in general so much as people in charge. It isn't the trans kid and allies shoving it down everyone's throat so much as the principal of the school and the administrators. Who or what is motivating them, a sudden spark of compassion or a mandate, laws, and orders from above sent to them in no uncertain terms? It seems to be the latter, "isn't it"? We want flowers, Sadhguru. How can we get them -- by thinking about them?

Pedophilia pride? MAPs="minor attracted persons"
Are trans men to be included in women's spaces?

Can any guru shed light on this matter?
(Sadhguru Talks) June 23, 2020. ["Pandering," did someone say "pandering"?  Does Sadhguru operate with a profit motive? Ya think?] Sadhguru wants everyone to register for the Inner Engineering Online program. How about a 50% discount? isha.co/IEO-YT "FREE for COVID Warriors." Guru Piers Morgan presents nominal liberal view

White guy mansplains Islam's view: "Zero percent of
the UK Muslims think homosexuality is acceptable."

You're so cool, Mr. Sadhguru. All the kids say so.
Self-proclaimed yogi, mystic, and visionary, Sadhguru is an alleged "spiritual master" with a difference. [He's cool, and all the cool kids know it. *Irony*]

He describes himself (or has hired a PR firm to describe him as), "An arresting blend of profundity and pragmatism, his life and work serves as a reminder that yoga is a contemporary science, vitally relevant to our times."

Can Taoism (Daoism) reveal "The Standard"?

COMMENTS
(@padmam895, 2022) I felt very good hearing this, but I have to say this there is a reason for campaigning for the LGBT+ community people. It is to make others who are ashamed or scared of themselves to show that they are not alone and should love themselves just the way they are. ❤

"It's not correct there's such a thing as biological sex."
Jordan Peterson won't be forced to change his language.

What is "the Buddhist view"?

(Khenpo Sodargye's Team) Question 3: Buddhist view on homosexuality, Jan. 7, 2019. The elder lama gives his view on the Buddhist Perspective in the Era of Materialism—Q&A. Humans have very many tendencies in terms of what they are attracted to, not just genders but in terms of age and looks. Can we be inclusive and accepting of deviant sexual practices? What is "deviant" anyway? Society gets used to anything we throw at it.

Why Americans are leaving their churches

Religion News Service via (msn.com)• 12/1/22; Eds., Wisdom Quarterly
I'm spiritual but not religious about it. - Me, too
(RNS) — As many as a third (33%) of Americans now claim no religious affiliation, and British sociologist Stephen Bullivant has some ideas about why.

In his new book, Nonverts: The Making of Ex-Christian America, due out this week from Oxford University Press, Bullivant reflects in often highly entertaining fashion about the trend lines.

Although it’s full of statistics, Nonverts remains a lively read for ordinary people — a rare feat in a sea of dry data-driven books.

As a researcher, Bullivant wanted to know why Americans, once considered the exception to the secularization that has happened in Europe and elsewhere, are suddenly losing their religion. And it is sudden, he notes.

.
“This kind of religious change in a society doesn’t normally happen in the space of 20 or 30 years,” he told Religion News Service in a Zoom interview. “It’s been within the space of one or perhaps two generations that we’ve seen a sudden surge.”

In the 1990s, nonreligion began climbing from its baseline of around 7% of the population to what is between three and five times that figure now, depending on the survey. (All national surveys show the same rising trendline, but they differ as to the degree.) More

Alan Watts: All about ZEN (Buddhist Radio)

Alan Watts: "Buddhism as Dialogue"
(Wilbemine) In this audio segment, Alan Watts takes us on a journey exploring a sect of Mahayana Buddhism called Japanese Zen. Watts distinguishes between the varieties of Buddhist practices and shares insight into how Buddhism has been applied practically on a daily basis across cultures.

Watts is hailed as the Westerner most responsible for bridging the gap between Western and Eastern philosophies. He is a self-described "spiritual entertainer" and incisive British philosopher. His lectures attempt to aid those seeking clarity of the mind on spirituality, consciousness, and self-awareness.

Where does "Zen" come from? Zen is the Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese word chan, which is an attempt to pronounce the Indian word jhana in the exclusively Buddhist language of Pali and the older dhyana in the ancient language of Sanskrit.

Push for Buddhism as Thailand’s official religion

The push for Buddhism to be declared Thailand’s official religion in the new constitution is gaining momentum.

A campaign launched in 2015 in Thailand is demanding that Buddhism be made the state religion.

The campaign is said to be influenced by radical Buddhists from the neighboring country of Burma (Myanmar), who have also been fighting for Buddhist domination and against a claimed Islamic insurgency.

As the Thai military junta-backed committee prepares to frame the country’s 20th constitution, experts believe that the new campaign will play a pivotal role in helping the junta gain popularity in Thailand.

The military junta has been facing a hard time trying to win the hearts of the Thai people, even though the country has been under their control for almost two years now. More: worldreligionnews.com/?p=20279
