The God prior to God: El

El means "god" or "deity" or as a proper name, El refers to any one of multiple major ancient Near Eastern deities.

El ("God") is a Northwest Semitic word. A rarer form, 'ila, represents the predicate form in the Old Akkadian and Amorite languages [8]. The word is derived from the Proto-Semitic *ʔil- [9]. Originally a Canaanite deity known as 'El, 'Al, or 'Il was the supreme god of the ancient Canaanite religion [10].

It has always been understood that there were many gods, which is clear from teh Bible even as henotheists and monotheists try to obscure that fact.

The Jewish God El

Scholars like Frank Moore Cross and Ignace Gelb speculate El may have also been the supreme god of East Semitic speakers in the Early Dynastic Period of Mesopotamia (circa 2900–circa 2350 BCE) [11, 12].

Among the Hittites, El was known as Elkunirša (Hittite 𒂖𒆪𒉌𒅕𒊭 Elkunīrša). Although El was given different appearances and meanings in different languages over time, the word continues to exist as El-, -il, or -el in compound proper noun phrases like Isra'el (Hebrew Yīsrāʾēl,  Israēl, which means "El [God] persists or rules," Micha'el, Beth'el, and El'izabeth, most of which are theophoric given names. The Elohim: Hebrew word meaning "gods." The word is plural. It can also mean "godhood," which is to say what beings who become gods are called. As an abstract noun it refers to the concept of "divinity." In the Jewish (Hebrew) Bible, it often takes singular verbal or pronominal agreement to refer to a single deity, particularly but not always the God of henotheistic and polytheistic Judaism, that later tried to claim itself only monotheistic. In other verses it takes plural agreement and refers to gods in the plural. Who were these other gods? God's wife Asherah was one. She (the Goddess) was well known. The other, El, is less known because it is hidden through the biblical texts, which were chosen for political and Roman imperial purposes.

"The Rapture" is a Christian eschatological ("end-times") belief held by some Christians, particularly those of American evangelicalism, consisting of a magic event when all dead Christian believers will be resurrected and, together with Christians who are still alive, will rise "in the clouds, to meet the Lord [who might be in a spaceship] in the air" [1, 2].

I don't want to be left behind with all the sinners!

Many different timelines have been asserted that tie to ideas of a seven-year "Great Tribulation": pre-tribulation [3], mid-tribulation, pre-wrath, and post-tribulation raptures; and to a thousand-year age of Messianic rule: millennialism, pre-millennialism, post-millennialism, a-millennialism, and preterism [4, 5].

The origin of the term extends from translations of the First Epistle to the Thessalonians in the Christian Bible, which uses the Greek word harpazo (Ancient Greek ἁρπάζω), meaning "to snatch away" or "to seize."

The idea of a rapture as it is defined in dispensational premillennialism is NOT found in historic Christianity. It is a relatively new doctrine, originating from the 1830s.

Why was I left behind, not good enough?

Most Christian denominations, and the numerically largest, do NOT believe or subscribe to "rapture theology" and have a different interpretation of the aerial gathering described in 1 Thessalonians 4 [6].

They do NOT use "rapture" as a specific theological term, nor do they generally subscribe to the dispensational theology associated with its use [7].

Instead, most Christians typically interpret "rapture" in the sense of the elect (the saved) gathering with Christ in Heaven directly after the Second Coming. They reject outright the idea that a large portion of humanity will be "left behind" (like the very profitable, fearmongering book series depicts) on Earth for an extended tribulation period after the events of 1 Thessalonians 4:17 [6, 8]. He is a professor in the Classical Studies Department at Boston University. He received his B.A. at Yale University, his master's at the University of Michigan, and his doctoral (Ph.D.) degree at Harvard University. He lives in Hull, Massachusetts.

Prof. Ruck is best known for his work along with other scholars in mythology and religion on the sacred role of entheogens (that bring out the divine from within), which are psychoactive plants that induce altered states of consciousness. They have been used in religious and shamanic rituals for millennia.

Biblical Hebrew does NOT have a word for “rape,” but the Bible is aware of the fact that females can be forced to submit to sex [7].

This is clearest from the law in Deuteronomy about adultery with a betrothed virgin: It distinguishes between a sexual encounter in the city, which is presumed to be consensual (because no one heard her screaming) [8] and one in the field.

The latter is assumed to have been forced because she probably screamed but no one heard her. (She is given the benefit of the doubt) [9].

The term used in these cases for sexual coercion is “to grab hold of and lie with” (וְהֶחֱזִיק בָּהּ… וְשָׁכַב עִמָּהּ). The man’s crime is the same in both instances ("adultery"). Consent is only relevant to determine whether the woman is liable for punishment or not.

Theophany (Ancient Greek ἡ θεοφάνεια, Romanized theophaneia, lit. "appearance of a deity" [1]) is an encounter with a deity (deva, god, goddess), in which it manifests in an observable and tangible form [2, 3, 4].

Where the deity does not take tangible form (an outward manifestation), the broader term used for inward manifestation is divine revelation or divine inspiration [5] as when devas ("shining ones") or gandharvas (heavenly messengers in Buddhism) visit earth.

Not kings, not just three, but tales were added.

Where the god or goddess indwells in a human person, the terms used are divine incarnation, a Hindu avatar or, poetically, the personification of that deity [6].

Theophanies, tangible appearances of a deity, are distinguished from epiphanies, which are powerful internal changes in outlook caused by a theophany or other divine revelation [7].

Traditionally the term "theophany" was used to refer to appearances of the gods in ancient Greek and in Near Eastern religions.

While Homer's Iliad is the earliest source for descriptions of theophanies in classical antiquity (which occur throughout Greek mythology), the earliest description appears in the much older Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh [8].

While the Baháʼí Faith of India does not refer to any particular events of Theophany, it holds that "God" is manifest in the prophets .

The "Manifestation of God" is a concept that refers to what are commonly called "prophets," including, among others,

• Gautama Buddha (Buddhism),
• Zoroaster (Zoroastrianism),
• Krishna (Hinduism),
• Abraham and Moses (Judaism),
• Jesus (Christianity),
• Muhammad (Islam),
• the Báb and Baháʼu'lláh [44].

The Manifestations of God are a series of personages [Maitreyas, Messiahs] who reflect the attributes of the divine into the human world for the progress and advancement of human morals and civilization [45].

The Manifestations of God are the only channel for humanity to know about God, and they act as perfect Mirrors reflecting the attributes of God into the physical world, says Bahai [46]....

Druze Faith

While the Druze do not refer to any particular events of theophany, they believe in incarnation and reincarnation, that is to say, in the transmigration (traveling) of the soul [51].

Hamza ibn Ali ibn Ahmad is considered the founder of the Druze and the primary author of the Druze manuscripts [52]. He proclaimed that God had become human and taken the form of man, al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah [53, 54, 51, 55, 56].

Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah is an important figure in the Druze faith whose eponymous founder ad-Darazi proclaimed him as the incarnation of God in 1018 [53, 54].
