Is light a cluster of particles (photons)?

Why I stopped believing that light is a particle (until now)
(Looking Glass Universe) This video is about Richard Feynman's Quantum Electrodynamics (QED), which says that light is made of photons [particles] that go on all possible paths at once.

Einstein: O, Great Buddha, what is the answer?
The experiment in the video is from the following video from Veritasium. Even though I don't agree fully agree with their interpretation of the experiment, I think it's an excellent explanation of QED. I highly recommend it!

Light in Buddhist meditation and physics
What is directly-perceived light? It may be kalapas, the smallest units of materiality (rupa, form)
.
It is possible to directly perceive light
In Buddhism, āloka-saññā means the "perception of light." A recurring Pali language canon passage reads:

"Here the meditator contemplates the perception of light, fixes mind on the perception of the day, as at daytime so by night, and as at nighttime so by day. In this way, with a mind clear and unclouded, one develops a stage of mind that is full of brightness."

That is, mind becomes full of the perception of light.

This perception is one of the methods for overcoming drowsiness in meditation recommended by the Buddha to the chief male disciple "foremost in psychic powers," Mahā Moggallāna (A.VII. 58). [He may have said the same to the chief female disciple declared "foremost in psychic powers," Uppalavanna Theri.]

Attain absorptions, see kalapa, review in slo-mo
According to DN 33, this method is conducive to the development of "knowledge and vision." (See "purification," visuddhi). And it is said to be helpful for the attainment of the psychic "divine eye." (See abhiññā). Light can also be the direct subject of meditation as a kasina (a disk or special meditation object).

Buddhism has its own physics? Oh, yes. It is called the "Doctrine in Ultimate Terms" or Abhidhamma pitaka. Why? In Buddhism, there is conventional reality as distinct from ultimate reality. In one world or perspective, there are things and persons. In another, there are only ultimate mind and matter, nama and rupa ("name and form") or the ultimate constituents of things, namely cittas ("mind-moments") and kalapas ("particles").

Something strange happens when we trust quantum mechanics

Perfect gift? Language translator

Capitalism (via the Hallmark Corporation) compels us to shop for others, and what do you get for someone who understands nothing you say, like the friendly monk at the Buddhist temple. It would be nice to clarify his wisdom and answers to our many questions without the embarrassing pressing and straining to communicate or having a bad human translator present to apologize, sway, and utter euphemisms in place of real answers. If AI can't, maybe this tiny device can. This is not a cellphone app and does not need to connect to Wi-Fi to work.

Happy birthday, Nikola Tesla (7/10)

Ancient Aliens: The Mysteries of Nikola Tesla (S8, E6) | full episode
(HISTORY) He is one of the most prolific inventors of the 20th century -- the Croatian man who actually electrified the world. He is much more significant than Thomas Edison, who tried to keep up with Tesla's genius. See more in Season 8, Episode 6, "The Tesla Experiment."

What did the US government agents (FBI/CIA/NSA) find so important among his effects after he passed away that they confiscated them, developed them in secret, and used them for military purposes rather than what he and the ETs who channeled the information to him intended? The dream was free energy, and we seem further away from that than ever. Capitalism to the rescue again. Not. David Wilcox (the rebirth of Edgar Cayce) knows it, and we know the source of his information and insights because he said so publicly. He disclosed the existence of life on other planets and their communication with him.

Ancient Aliens: Tesla's secret Time Travel connection
(HISTORY) Sept. 28, 2023: Did Tesla predict the future of technology [or travel to it]? This genius was in communication with off-planet intelligences, helpful extraterrestrials rooted in human history. He invented anti-gravity ships (flying saucers, electrified vimanas). Kid builds Directed Energy Weapon 'death ray'

Make this kid a US citizen, hire him, and send
him to space to work for our new Space Force
The young scientist’s twist on a legendary ancient weapon might just re-write history.
Ancient Greece mathematician Archimedes believed a "death ray" was plausible, so a middle school student from Canada put the concept to the test.

Brenden Sener of Ontario won multiple medals for his miniature version of the Archimedes Death Ray, crafted with light and mirrors.

No archaeological evidence [shown to us] proves the death ray was ever [built and] employed, but Sener believes it very well could have been.

It might be surprising to learn that then-12-year-old Brenden Sener of London, Ontario, Canada, was enthralled by Ancient Greek concepts posited by mathematician Archimedes.

But it probably makes more sense when we find out what exactly those concepts were. Archimedes wrote about harnessing the Sun’s energy to create a death ray. And Sener wanted in. More:

Musk brings internet porn to Amazon tribe

Our natural beauty has lost. Now we have to compete with a new standard brought from outside.

The shaman warned us this would happen, foretold from a dream of a handheld device.
.
In the dense Amazon rainforest (Valley of Javari, Brazil), the remote Marubo tribe has preserved its unique culture and language for millennia.
PARADISE LOST
The First Nations had a paradise in U.S.
However, advanced technology brings danger, as Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service [which floats satellites aloft on balloons in low earth atmosphere not weightless in space as we are led to believe], has recently breached the tribe's blissful isolation.

This connection to the outside world brings both challenges and opportunities for the tribe [on the one hand they may all die of modern sedentary diseases and for-profit allopathic "treatments," never cures, but on the other hand, they won't miss the latest episode of Game of Thrones and its fan-fiction porn offshoots].

STARLINK INTERNET IN AMAZON
I cut my own hair because I'm a teen now.
The Marubos, a 2,000-member tribe, connected with the world through the internet for the first time last September when Starlink launched its services in Brazil.

Billionaire Elon Musk's Starlink aims to provide internet to remote locations using low-Earth orbit satellites.

"When it arrived, everyone was happy," said 73-year-old Tsainama Marubo to The New York Times.

X needs full spectrum dominance for CIA
The internet has brought clear benefits [um, we can check stock prices, the weather, get futbol scores, and, um, check commodity exports on Amazonian goods to see if they'll be burning our block down anytime soon to make room for more cow pasture], including video chats with faraway loved ones and emergency calls for help. "But now, things have gotten worse," she added.

CULTURAL IMPACTS AND CONCERNS
I have a hack. Imma gonna vanlife down to the Amazon and intro myself to this Marubo tribe and become their Goddess, and I may even honeymoon the boys if nexesscary to prove I from the Western sky of El Norte. What could go wrong, unless I watch too much content, repeat the slang, and say 'Eat me' and then they literally do. They're not cannibals, right? Worse comes to worse, I'll convert my van into a delivery truck and pick up some packages. - Goddess, where do you think 'there' is? - Amazon, right? - That's right, and where's that? - South of TJ, for sure. Near Rosarito?
.
'Hack'? My gosh these Millennials are dum.
The tribe faces a fundamental dilemma regarding the internet's use and its impact on their culture. "Young people have gotten lazy because of the internet," Tsainama said.

"They're learning the ways of the white people." Despite this, she pleaded, "But please don't take our internet away." The youth are now frequently on their phones, chatting with friends, glued to screens, and accessing inappropriate content. Alfredo Marubo, leader of a Marubo association of villages, expressed his concerns to The New York Times. He is particularly troubled by the spread of pornography. "We're worried young people are going to want to try it," he said, noting that some leaders have observed more aggressive sexual behavior among young men.

New eco-friendly battery is a big tech leap

Anthony Cuthbertson, The Independent, 2/26/24; Sheldon S., Seth Auberon (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
It's true. We're on the left yet we pretend coal-powered energy is any solution to pollution. Stop the corporations and polluters without falling for lies about carbon to fund a new capitalist market to trade "right to pollute credits." Electric cars, because of rare earth minerals and the way electricity are generated and their shorter lifespan and very expensive battery packs are far worse for environment and consumers.
.
Researchers have discovered how to massively boost the capacity and performance of an eco-friendly alternative to the batteries found in electric cars and smartphones.

The breakthrough is expected to accelerate the commercialization of organic electrode-based batterie, which are both cheaper and more environmentally friendly than standard lithium-ion batteries.

“The potential of organic electrodes in lithium-ion batteries is highlighted by their cost-effectiveness and natural abundance,” a paper detailing the research noted.

Now we can save the environment and Gaia!
“However, the dissolution of the active material in the electrolyte is a major obstacle to their use in lithium-ion batteries.”

A team from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) and Hanyang University in South Korea figured out how to overcome the limitations associated with organic electrode materials, which have previously hampered their development and adoption.

Previously, such batteries were unable to keep more than 50 per cent of their capacity after just 20 charging cycles, but a new technique using diluted electrolytes allowed the battery to retain more than 91 per cent of its capacity after more than 1,000 charging cycles.

“This study represents a major step towards practical applications of organic electrode-based batteries,” said Professor Won-Jin Kwak at the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering at UNIST. More:

Court: Genocide case against Israel opens

Ali AbunimahThe Electronic IntifadaRights and Accountability, Jan. 11, 2024; Shauna SchwartzSheldon S., Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Ceasefire now! (IfNotNowMovement.org)
The eyes of the world turned to The Hague on Thursday morning as the International Court of Justice began hearing the genocide case against Israel brought by [the courageous government of] South Africa.

The landmark two-day hearing is to decide if the court will impose “provisional measures” – such as ordering a ceasefire – while it considers the full case, something that could take years.

Genocide in DC (amnestyinternational.org)
Michael Lynk spoke to The Electronic Intifada’s livestream on Wednesday to provide background and analysis of what to expect from this initial stage of the process.

Watch his interview in the video above. Lynk, a professor of law at Western University in London, Ontario, served as the UN special rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories from 2016-2022.
On Thursday, lawyers for South Africa present their case for three hours. On Friday, Israel’s representatives will have the same amount of time for a rebuttal.

It is also being streamed live on YouTube and you can watch that recording any time: More

No gravity, light speed slow, electric universe

Hecklefish Moriarty, The Why Files, 10/21/23; Eds., Wisdom Quarterly

Gravity is a Lie, Light Speed is Slow, Nothing is Real, and the Universe is Electric
(The Why Files) The Why Files: Operation Podcast. Since grade school, we’ve been taught that gravity is what keeps our feet firmly planted on the ground, but what if that’s all been a lie?

Buddhist wheel
I'm not saying if you jump off a bridge, you fall up instead of down. But what if Newton and Einstein were wrong and what really ties our universe together is not gravity but electricity?

The Electric Universe Theory says that, instead of gravity, the universe's true attractive force comes from invisible electric currents that surround our planet, our solar system, the galaxy, and...everything.

We are all living in one, giant, universe-spanning circuit. Mainstream science ignores this possibility. But ignoring the electric universe blinds us to an unknown risk.

The myths of our ancestors describe cataclysmic, global disasters in the distant past. They knew about the electric universe, too, not from science, but from experience.

And our ancestors have sent us a strange, but dire warning: Beware the shocking fury of planet Saturn.

Shungite crystals protect from EMF radiation?

Shop LC, 10/22; ScottiesTech.Info, 6/20; Crystal Q., Sheldon S. (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Shungite stone Electro-Magnetic Field (EMF) radiation test
(Shop LC) Watch what happens when we put Shungite crystals in front of a highly radiant object like a cellphone and Wi-Fi transmitter (router). Is it possible that a simple stone with a complex underlying matrix (nanotubes, fullerenes, quasi-spherical carbon atom arrangements, 98% carbon content) has any affect at all as measured by scientific instrumentation? Would a metallic aluminum "tin foil hat" provide more protection? A silver strand (threaded) cloth shield or Faraday cage might be better. Subscribe. Facebook, Twitter, InstagramPinterest.

Can shungite protect us from EMFs?
(ScottiesTech.Info) Shungite is a natural stone from Shunga, Russia, composed mainly of carbon that many people use to protect themselves from EMFs such as Wi-Fi, 5G, targeted attacks, microwave radiation, and so on. But does it really work?

Pyramid-shaped chunk of Shungite (Wiki)
It turns out that most of the information available on the internet appears to be dead wrong. First of all, getting "real" Shungite is more difficult than one would imagine. Most people are buying an amalgam with little Shungite mixed in.

Scottie does a few simple tests in this video to show that no, Shungite does not appear to absorb EMFs. However, it does reflect or partially block them -- but only when it's directly between the antenna and an organic body. [It might be good to surround ourselves with living house plants.]

There are still tons of people who swear by it. What's going on here? Should we keep using our Shungite?

How to make the perfect "tin foil hat" (protective shield) using science

(Dr. Michelle Dickinson) I've seen some tin foil hats being made recently, and it struck me that their designs aren't very effective. I thought I'd help by explaining some of the key scientific principles needed to make the perfect shield for [protection of the brain from electromagnetic radiation coming off cellphones, cell towers, Wi-Fi, and screens of all kinds that emit electromagnetic fields].
