Angkor: Hidden Buddhist Splendor!

Incorporating more stone than the pyramids, Angkor (scene of Angelina Jolie's Tomb Raiders) is the world's greatest ancient city -- and that may be an understatement describing the treasures of this world heritage site in the heart of the Cambodian jungle.

Once the capital city (with a million plus inhabitants) of an empire ruling most of Southeast Asia, its demise was due to suburban expansion and environmental collapse. It was a recent runner up for the New Seven Wonders of the World (NPR).
