CNN is using the provocative title "Buddha's Warriors" in a new documentary airing this week. Reporter Amanpour states that some Tibetan agitators, such as Tenzin Tsundue, are growing weary of the Dalai Lama's "middle way" strategy in dealing with Beijing. They disagree with settling on a Tibet within and part of China.
Footage includes a Tibetan Bon-style shaman -- "the official state oracle" -- entering a trance to advise the Dalai Lama. The message the shaman channels in a secretive language only a few monks understand is to stay the course: Continue the current concilliartory approach and seek peaceful coexistence with China. Tibetan dissidents disagree and challenge the decision of Tibet's "government in exile" in Dharamsala, India.
