World Travel - from a Hospital Bed

-
Travel the world while exploring the mind and its creations from a hospital bed. The Fall (2008 release, directed by Tarsem) tells the epic tale of a masked adventurer and his vengeful companions -- the Mystic, the former slave who frees slaves, the archaic explosives expert, the Indian, with Charles Darwin and his secret muse, Wallace the Monkey. The tale unravels at the prompting of a young girl, a Romanian migrant worker in turn-of-the-century Los Angeles. SomaGirls offers a typical review:

The cinematography is astonishing -- apart from the very real psychological exploration of how perception influences our reality -- taking the viewer from the ancient riches of India to the pyramids of Egypt, from a desert isle in Fiji to the dense jungles of Cambodia (and many other exotic locations). Enchantment is provided by a Lotus Princess, whose Buddhist novice nephew suggests her Eastern origins. Particularly compelling is the Mystic's spiritual healing by tribal shamans in the wilderness, benefiting the others by providing a map of the journey to be taken, as the following clip shows:
