Akron police video of their street execution of young, unarmed Black man Jayland Walker
Police in Akron, Ohio, released video of their fatal street execution of American citizen Jayland Walker, a 25-year-old unarmed Black man who was shot to death by eight officers unloading their service revolvers in an act of solidarity, murder, or group fear/hatred. They killed Mr. Walker following a minor traffic stop and foot pursuit. Elise Preston reports.

Family of Jayland Walker speaks to 3News after Akron police shooting
For the heartbroken mother and sister of Jayland Walker, the answer they seek is increasingly elusive.
“Why? Why did this happen in such a manner, such a terrible, terrible way?”
Mr. Walker’s mother, Pamela, said Thursday in an exclusive interview with 3News Investigates.
It’s hard for Pamela Walker to understand what happened the night police shot to death her only son in a hail of one-way gunfire.
To the family, that’s not Jayland. He was a good son, a speeding ticket his only previous encounter with police.
He was 25 years old, a hard worker, delivering packages and restaurant orders all around Akron, Ohio, all while dreaming of one day running his own company or creating his own sounds.
He was a Buchtel High graduate, who lost his high school sweetheart in a car crash just a month ago.
Early Monday morning, Akron police tried to stop his car for a traffic infraction along East Tallmadge Avenue.
Instead of stopping, Walker sped off. Police radioed to dispatch that they thought they heard gunfire from Walker’s car, and police initiated a highspeed chase.
Walker led officers for four minutes, until jumping from his moving car on East Wilbeth Road near South Main Street.
Walker ran away toward a Bridgestone Tire employee parking lot.
By now, eight Akron police officers converged, guns drawn, excited at a chance to kill a Black male.
What happened next is unclear, but police shot Walker to death, as they unloaded over 90 shots, striking defenseless Walker over 60 times.
Officers now claim Walker made a motion [turned around] that caused the heavily armed and trained paramilitary agents to "fear" for their lives [or see a legal opening to execute him with impunity].
The gun police claim Walker fired was still in the car [or planted there shortly after the shooting], other police sources have told 3News Investigates.
- [Police investigate police in these matters, with all the apparent conflict of interest involved, to reduce the number of charges, prosecutions, or convictions of police. The system, worked out with the district attorney works very well to conceal misconduct or at least make it nearly impossible to successfully prosecute.]
Shell casings from his gun were said to be found inside his car and on the roadway near state Route 8, police sources told 3News Investigates.
The eight officers are now on paid [vacation-style] leave while the Ohio Bureau of Investigation leads a "review" of the [investigation Akron police conduct on their fellow officers and friends involved in this] shooting.
