How much evidence is enough evidence? How many ancient cultures and sacred texts need to speak of extraterrestrials from the "heavens" coming down and communicating, guiding and instigating, before one comes out of the spell of "allowable" thinking? The Buddha spent all that time talking about devas or "shining ones" and asuras "titans," but he was just being metaphorical? The gatekeepers have not opened the gates and given us permission to believe. They have not yet allowed it. They have made us all mini "scientists" who need to hold tangible, irrefutable, consensus-approved artifacts and data, and then maybe we'll believe. Well, actually, we'll believe when everybody else believes first. We don't want to look "dumb," "gullible," or "unscientific." Golly, gee, that would be terrible! What might others say about us? We don't want to be laughed at or called "kooks." We have reputations to worry about, and funding, and standing in the community. We're not touching this whole alien mumbo jumbo with a ten-foot pole. Fred Flintstone had The Great Gazoo, but what do we have? Just our God-given powers of doubt, skepticism, rationality, blind obedience to authority, and a fear to tread where angels might be. But the evidence sure is mounting. And that Canadian official said it was absolutely true. Hmm, makes one wonder.
