Research suggests that thousands of years ago [in prehistory] — long before recorded history — the Indigenous peoples of Europe built unique, rich cultures.
But then something changed — dramatically. Out of that shift emerged the Europe we know today: patriarchy, biblical genocide, violence, sexism, empires, kings, and bloody conquest — a legacy of settler colonialism that shaped today's world.
So what happened? Have traces of that earlier world survived?

The northern European wasteland (Lapland) of Scandinavia, the least desirable piece of Europe, was originally populated by Germans (a.k.a. the native Samis), who as Vikings ("Pirates") did what they could with it until they reached maximum success by domesticating cows and killing fish? So they left to trade, raid, and invade others to prosper. Hearing their sagas say they were originally from Kerman, Iran, they traveled the Volga River, visited, and found an advanced Persian/Arabian culture they wanted to imitate? These were the "Aryans" (Iranians) the Germans thought they should be or were meant to be or originally were? So they returned and made Scandinavia and the best place to live and nearby Germany (Kermany) the Aryan (Iranian) capital (because the Nazis found this story appealing)?
The City of Kerman (which gives us the word "German") was founded as a defensive outpost, with the name Veh-Ardashir, by Ardashir I, founder of the Sasanian Empire, in the 3rd century AD [8].
After the Battle of Nahāvand in 642, the city came under Muslim rule. At first, the city's relative isolation allowed Kharijites and Zoroastrians to thrive there, but the Kharijites were wiped out in 698, and the population was mostly Muslim by 725.
Already in the eighth century the city was famous for its manufacture of cashmere wool shawls and other textiles. The Abbasid Caliphate's authority over the region was weak, and power passed in the tenth century to the Buyid emirs.

The region and city fell to Mahmud of Ghazni in the late tenth century. The name Kerman was adopted at some point in the tenth century [9].
Under the rule of the Seljuk Turks in the 11th and 12th centuries, Kerman remained virtually independent, conquering Oman and Fars [10].
When Marco Polo visited Kerman in 1271, it had become a major trade emporium linking the Persian Gulf with Khorasan and Central Asia [11].

What do genes really tell us. I have a question: Who am I? Will CRIgenetics tell me or just make me cri (sic)?

Will I mix well with a Latin lover? Should I even have children? Will I need a fertility clinic? Do I have to become to my mom and carry on the habits of this crazy family tree?
The Buddha taught that we have been reborn so many times in so many places across the universe -- the "31 Planes of Existence -- and in so many social configurations that we rarely meet anyone we haven't already shared all relationships with.
It goes much deeper. If I identify with THIS body, who am I? For that the Buddha answered in ultimate terms (Abhidhamma), talking about the jiva (lifeforce or "impersonalsoul" even if that appears paradoxical) and observable particles (kalapas/atoms) that make up our being.
DNA testing looks at genes to identify sequences and chromosomes, designating racial lineage, national parentage, and ethnic heritage.
Its main use for mass consumers is to determine biological relatives, such as paternity testing (who the genetic mother and father are) or to broadly predict an individual's ancestry. Epigenetics (above-genetics) matter more because they are the sets of instructions (at the top of strands) -- mediated by environment -- that turn expression of our genes on and off. We express part of what we have, but we do not have to express it. We can turn it on and off from the outside.

Genetic testing to assess relatedness or ancestry can also be used for selective breeding, as would have been valuable for American and Nazi eugenicists to determine "Aryan" purity and the race of relatives and to apply the 1/16th or single drop rule for Blackness.
Early forms of genetic testing began in the 1950s, involving counting the number of chromosomes per cell. In the 1970s, a method to stain specific regions of chromosomes, called chromosome banding, was developed that allowed more detailed analysis of chromosome structure and diagnosis of genetic disorders that involved large structural rearrangements.
In addition to analyzing whole chromosomes (cytogenetics), genetic testing has expanded to include the fields of molecular genetics and genomics which can identify changes at the level of individual genes, parts of genes, or even single nucleotide "letters" of DNA sequence. One study estimated that as of 2018 there were more than 68,000 genetic tests on the market.

What wiped out the Aztecs? Scientists find new filthy European gut bacteria was the culprit

From 1545 to 1550, Aztecs in what is today southern Mexico experienced a deadly outbreak.
Anywhere from five to 15 million people died. Locally, it was known as cocoliztli, but the exact cause or causes has been a mystery for the past 500 years [when the filthy invaders landed].
Now, a new study published in the journal Nature Ecology and Evolution, suggests the outbreak could have been caused by a deadly form of salmonella.
Salmonella enterica -- subset Paratyphi C to be exact -- was present in the DNA of ten different individuals buried at the only known burial site, Teposcolula-Yucundaa, associated with cocoliztli.
While that specific strain of salmonella is much rarer today, Vågene says it would have spread similarly. Any food or water contaminated with the strain would have turned deadly once ingested.
According to study author Åshild Vågene from the Max Planck Institute, the strain is a bacterial infection that causes a type of enteric fever nearly identical to typhoid.
