Dalai Lama-Epstein's personal relationship

Bush awards Dalai Lama medal for CIA service?
(Mint Press News) The latest tranche (load) of Epstein Files has put a rather unlikely figure in the spotlight: the 14th Dalai Lama [Pope-King of Gelug sect Yellow Hat Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism].

Thank you, Man, you cool. - Oh, you got it, Dali!
The Tibetan religious [now no longer its king after China deposed him and chased him into exile in India] leader’s name is mentioned hundreds of times in the newly-released documents, with suggestions and allegations that the two [Dalai Lama and Epstein] maintained some kind of personal relationship.

A search for “Dalai Lama” elicits 156 results on the Department of Justice’s website [verify that here: justice.gov/epstein], with other similar queries, such as “Dali Lama” (because uneducated Epstein had notoriously poor spelling abilities) also prompting dozens of additional relevant results.

Jeff, I like boys to suck me. Can you arrange me little boys? - Yes, I can. - But secret, OK?
.
A prominent Epstein guest [biographer and journalist Michael Wolff?] recalls meeting the Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhist teacher at Epstein’s Manhattan mansion, scene of many of his most serious child sex crimes [possibly also including forcing young boys to suck his tongue and/or other appendages for a little pederastic "boy play" with possible bacha bazi dancing just for giggles].

The Dalai Lama’s office (dalailama.com) has vehemently denied any connection between [known CIA assetHis Holiness the Dalai Lama to disgraced pedophile and suspected Israeli Mossad intelligence operative, blackmailer, fixer, network organizer, rapist, murderer, and torturer of children Jeffrey Epstein.

Joichi Ito at Dig DAO Kickoff event, 2023
A serial networker, Jewish Jeffrey Epstein’s emails show that he worked hard to connect with the Dalai Lama, sending requests out to his web of contacts for an invitation.

Joichi Ito, head of MIT (the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Media Lab, helped him in his endeavors, noting that his close contact, Tenzin Priyadarshi was a Tibetan Buddhist monk, MIT’s Buddhist chaplain, and had a direct line to the Dalai Lama.
  • As he wrote: “Yes. First step would be to meet Tenzin [Gyatso, aka the 14th Dalai Lama]. His student who runs the Dalai Lama center and is now a Director’s Fellow at the Lab and going to start the ‘ethics initiative’ at the Media Lab. We’re working on some cool things like a meeting about cognitive machines and man. I think you’ll probably like him. He can get us the Dalai Lama.”
Epstein would go on to meet with [Tenzin] Priyadarshi and donate $50,000 to his Prajnopaya Institute, a[n ego-aggrandizing] Buddhist center he founded.

Joi Ito resigned in disgrace (BBC)
In 2019, Joichi Ito resigned in disgrace over his association with child molester, convicted pedophile, and child sex trafficker Epstein. Epstein was excited by the prospect of reeling the Dalai Lama into his personal network:

“I’m working on the dalai lama for dinner,” he emailed [molested Asian Mrs. Woody Allen] Soon Yi-Previn, wife of Woody Allen.

Mrs. Woody Allen Soon-Yi Previn
“Any date for the lunch with Woody and dalai L?” celebrity scientist Lawrence Krauss asked Epstein two weeks later.

Another message from a redacted sender also hints at a closer relationship between Epstein and the Dalai Lama than previously known:

“Sorry for that didn’t check my email since yesterday morning. You know that I don’t have an Internet in my phone, why didn’t you call me or text me on my phone if you need me? About the event I told you almost a month ago on the island that Dalai Lama is coming and I want to go there to see him. But I can skip this event if you need my help today.”

We're Jews; we love shiksa kids.
It is not clear whether the reference to the “island” is [Pedophile Island aka] Little St. James, the infamous Caribbean [in the U.S. Virgin Islands] retreat where the billionaire [sex] trafficked and raped [molested] girls and women.

From the emails alone, it is unclear whether Epstein and the Dalai Lama ever met in person. However, Michael Wolff, journalist and Epstein associate [his hired personal biographer], stated multiple times that he personally saw him at Epstein’s Manhattan residence.

Wolff told The Daily Beast Podcast that Epstein’s gigantic apartment was “filled with people you might want to meet, from Bill Gates, to Peter Thiel, to [disgraced Jewish Harvard official] Larry Summers, [Israeli Prime Minister] Ehud Barak, [smelly Republican apparatchik and Trump yes-man] Steve Bannon, Noam Chomsky, the Dalai Lama.”

Host Joanna Coles interrupted Wolff, asking: “You met the Dalai Lama?

“Yeah, the list goes on; the list is extraordinary,” he replied.

A shocked Coles asked him once again to clarify: “Did you actually meet the Dalai Lama at Jeffrey Epstein’s?” to which Wolff responded, “Yeah, indeed.” More

So who's lying, Michael Wolff or the Dalai Lama's PR (Public Relations) Office?

First Buddhist Women: Stories of Awakening

Susan Murcott (Parallax Press, MIT), 2022; Dhr. Seven, Jen Bradford (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
Why would anyone leave the world? Nuns have no fun! Women can be as free as men.
.
First Buddhist Women: Poems and Stories of Awakening (2nd ed.)
(Susan MurcottMIT D-Lab) This book has 4.7 stars out of 5 with 40 ratings.

First Buddhist Women is a readable, contemporary translation of and commentary on the "enlightenment verses" of the first female disciples of the historical Buddha.

It explores Buddhism’s relatively liberal attitude towards women since its founding nearly 2,600 years ago, through the study of the Therigatham, the earliest known collection of women’s spiritual poetry.

Through commentary and storytelling, author Susan Murcott traces the journey of the
  • wanderers,
  • wives,
  • mothers,
  • teachers,
  • courtesans, and
  • prostitutes
who became leaders in the Buddhist community, roles that even today are rarely filled by women in other often patriarchal religions.

Their poetic verses beautifully express their search for enlightenment, wisdom, spiritual attainments, peace, and their struggles in society. More

Noam Chomsky, Dreaming, Comedy (movies)

Amber Larson, Seth Auberon, Wisdom Quarterly; Prof. Noam Chomsky, Michel Gondry (DN!)
(IFC Films VOD) Michel Gondry, the innovative director of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and "The Science of Sleep," brings us a unique animated doc on the life of the controversial anti-war activist, linguist, MIT professor, philosopher, and political firebrand Noam Chomsky. Complex, lively conversations come alive with brilliant illustrations by Gondry as the film reveals the life and work of the father of modern linguistics while also exploring his theories on human language. The result is not only a dazzling, vital portrait of one of the foremost thinkers of modern times, but also a beautifully animated work of art.

Amy Goodman and Nermeen Shaikh interview French filmmaker Michel Gondry, the director of the film, "Is the Man Who is Tall Happy?"

The film is an animated representation of Gondry's conversations with the legendary Noam Chomsky -- a political dissident, linguist, author, and MIT professor. The innovative documentary introduces viewers to Chomsky's theories and ideas through a series of conversations brought to life by Gondry's vibrant hand-drawn animations.

Nim Chimpsky: I have language, too, Noam!
As Chomsky speaks, Gondry's rapidly moving pencil illustrates his words. The two discuss everything from Chomsky's pioneering work in human language acquisition in childhood to his views on education, religion, and astrology.

Gondry's past films include the Academy Award-winning "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (featuring superstar Buddhist comedian Jim Carrey and glorious Kate Winslet), the musical documentary "Dave Chappelle's Block Party," and "The Science of Sleep." He has also directed dozens of music videos by artists including Björk, Kanye West, Paul McCartney, and The Rolling Stones.

Ebony and Ivy: University Slavery (video)

Ashley Wells, Wisdom Quarterly; Amy Goodman, DemocracyNow.org
This shocking conversation with Prof. Wilder continues in Part II. The extended interview with the MIT American history professor examines slaves in the nation’s elite schools.

Elite universities in America were built on slaves? An MIT professor and author of a new book, which has been 10 years in the making, examines how many major U.S. universities -- Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Dartmouth, Rutgers, Williams, and UNC, among others -- are drenched in the blood and sweat of Africans forcibly brought to the United States as slaves.

In Ebony & Ivy: Race, Slavery, and the Troubled History of America’s Universities," Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) American history Professor Craig Steven Wilder reveals how the slave economy and higher education grew up together.

"When you think about the colonial world, until the American Revolution, there is only one college in the South, William & Mary... The other eight colleges were all Northern schools. And they’re actually located in key sites, for the most part, of the merchant economy where the slave traders had come to power and rose as the financial and intellectual backers of new culture of the colonies," Wilder says. More

Continuing the conversation on slavery, Democracy Now! is joined by a woman who uncovered that her ancestors were the largest slave-trading family in U.S. history. Katrina Browne documented her roots in the film, "Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North."

It reveals how her family, the DeWolfs based in Rhode Island, was once the largest slave-trading family in U.S. history. And it continued even after slavery was abolished by furnishing human slaves offshore, where it remained legal.

After the film aired on PBS in 2008, Browne went on to found the Tracing Center on Histories and Legacies of Slavery. More

New clues into the Mysteries of Dark Matter?

Wisdom Quarterly "DARK MATTER IS A FANTASY FILL-IN EXPLANATION"; Dennis Overbye (NYTimes.com, Apr. 3, 2013), Science Reporters and Editors, Science desk on Facebook)
The vast mystery of space, or akasha deva loka ("space plane of shining ones") in Buddhist cosmology (Orion Nebula by GreasyGrandma/Sans.toi/flickr.com)

Bad Astronomy (universetoday.com)
The dark side of the universe is whispering, but scientists are still not sure what it is saying.

Samuel Ting, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology [MIT] and a Nobel laureate particle physicist, said Wednesday that his $1.6 billion cosmic ray experiment on the International Space Station had found evidence of  “new physical phenomena” that could represent dark matter, the mysterious stuff that [desperate mainstream scientists say] serves as the gravitational foundation for galaxies and whose identification would rewrite some of the laws of physics.

We're whistling in the dark; old theories fail us.
The results, he said, confirmed previous reports that local interstellar space is crackling with an unexplained abundance of high energy particles, especially positrons, the antimatter version of the familiar electrons that comprise electricity and chemistry. They could be colliding particles of dark matter. Or they could be could be coming from previously undiscovered pulsars or other astronomical monsters, throwing off wild winds of radiation.

The tantalizing news is that even with the new data, physicists cannot tell yet which is the right answer... More

Hiding the Truth even as it's Found
Wisdom Quarterly (COMMENTARY)
Why do comfortable, well paid scientists keep promoting dubious fantasies and outright frauds like the all-explaining "God particle" (Higgs boson), cheating Stephen Hawking out of a cool Benjamin, gravity as inexplicable, physics as that reducible nonsense in last year's textbooks, free energy as "impossible" and "contrary to immutable laws," and so on? Discover something real, and one of two fates awaits you -- be defunded and die in obscurity or possibly utter ignominy.

Or, if you're lucky, be swept up in a black budget project, be taken to one of many secret underground labs, get unlimited funding to do real research for the benefit of the military-industrial complex, and perhaps be exposed to reverse-engineered technology from odd artifacts that have fallen out of the sky all mysterious like.

Which fate is worse, dying out (while being laughed at) or selling out (while drinking to be able to live with yourself)? There are few other choices. "Go along to get along" has become the order of the day in the science community.

Secretly read up and keep an open mind to what colleagues and defectors are really studying and discovering in secret. Without the proper security clearance, one is unlikely to gain sufficient awareness to realize that mainstream magazines set the agenda, applaud Defenders of the Faith, and are moved by the profit motive, which means promoting scarcity, fear, chaos, and spirituality vs. science polemics.

Scientists find brain's "moral compass"

DailyMail.co.uk (March 30, 2010); Wisdom Quarterly
[MIT] scientists have discovered a real-life "moral compass" in the brain that controls how we judge other people's behavior.

The region, which lies just behind the right ear, becomes more active when we think about other people's misdemeanors or good works.

Morality is a better guide than parents, gods
In an extraordinary experiment, researchers were able to use powerful magnets to disrupt this area of the brain and make people temporarily less moral.

The study highlights how our sense of right and wrong isn't just based on upbringing, religion, or philosophy -- but by the biology of our brains.

Dr. Liane Young, who led the study, said: "You think of morality as being a really high-level behavior. To be able to apply a magnetic field to a specific brain region and change people's moral judgments is really astonishing."

Red does not indicate the compass (mit.edu)
The moral compass lies in a part of the brain called the right temporo-parietal junction. It lies near the surface of the brain, just behind the right ear.

The researchers at MIT, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, used a non-invasive technique called transcranial magnetic stimulation to disrupt the area of the brain.

The technique generates a magnetic field on a small part of the skull which creates weak electric currents in the brain. These currents interfere with nearby brain cells and prevent them from firing normally.

In the first experiment, 12 volunteers were exposed to the magnetic field for 25 minutes before they were given a series of "moral maze" style scenarios.

Religion is a problem: Advice to Kalamas
For each of the 192 scenarios, they were asked to make a judgment about the character's actions on a scale of 1 for "absolutely forbidden" to 7 for "absolutely permissible."

In the second experiment, the magnetic field was applied to their heads at the time they were asked to weigh the behavior of the characters in the scenario.

In both experiments, the magnetic field made the volunteers less moral. More

How can anyone tell anyone else what's right or wrong?
Dhr. Seven, Amber Dorrian, Ashley Wells, Wisdom Quarterly (COMMENTARY)
Has U.S. lost its moral compass?
Debating "right" and "wrong" is futile. Buddhism speaks not in this simplistic way but rather of skillful (kusala) and unskillful (akusala) behavior: what acts lead to suffering, when they come to fruition, and which do not. We do not make decisions based on rational bases, reasoning, calculating, and arriving at some objective plan. We depend on emotions and our "guts" (the sources of many neurons and most of the body's serotonin). To follow our bliss we first have to be mindful enough to notice it. It is a subtle joy one feels, not a logic one deduces. One never feels happier, more buoyant, more relieved, more effervescent than when entering the early absorptions, meditative jhanas, based on virtue, concentration as the mind/heart begins to cohere, and ease. Piti and sukkha, joy and happiness are the natural result. In daily life, little contentment, bliss, or joy occur spontaneous to flood the body; likewise little moral dread (otappa) occurs when we engage in behaviors (breaking precepts) that are sure to bring unwelcome, unwanted misery.

The Buddha said "come and see" not "believe!"
Killing, stealing, sexual harm, perjury, intoxication occasioning heedlessness cannot lead to happiness but, clearly, someone who steals can enjoy ill-gotten gains. Why? The act (karma) has not matured and borne its result. When it does it will surely be experienced as misery. This is what the Buddha taught and what made him a karmavadin, a teacher of actions with moral consequences. If it were not so, we would not say so. Who wouldn't rather do whatever s/he wanted? Mystics teach what they see as seers (rishis) not what will make them popular and lauded in their day. Truth is true whether anyone sees it or not. Fortunately, all that the Buddha said is personally verifiable in this very life. The Buddha taught the path to that knowledge and vision.

There is no blind faith in Buddhism to act as beacon. Ironically, as Americans, most of us prefer Zen under the mistaken assumption that it's a DIY religion of no religion, a rebel stance, an anachronistic hodgepodge of senseless koans, blunts, and aphorisms no one really understands. In fact, "zen" means jhana, which is almost synonymous with moral blamelessness. Without virtue, the heart/mind remains uneasy, full of misgivings, worried about things done (unskillful karma) and left undone (skillful karma), and unconcentrated. And it is exactly a calm, cool, collected and therefore intensely concentrated (samadhi) mind/heart that leads to zen (meditation), that is Zen, that bears the fruits of the path: virtue --> concentration --> wisdom.

By ourselves is good/evil done
Or left undone.
By ourselves are we
purified or defiled.

No one saves us but ourselves;
No one can and no one may.
We ourselves must walk the path;
Buddhas only point the way!

Does God exist?

William Crawley (Will & Testament, )

(Does God exist?) Alex Byrne, a philosopher at MIT, thinks those seeking "proofs" or "arguments" for God's existence have rather missed the point about the nature of religious faith. After fairly summarizing the state of play in current philosophy of religion, with impressive succinctness, he concludes with this:

"If a persuasive argument for the existence of God is wanted, then philosophy has come up empty. The traditional arguments have much to teach us, but concentrating on them can disguise a simple but important point. As Anselm and Paley both recognized, the devout are not exactly holding their collective breath. For the most part, they do not believe that God exists on the basis of any argument.

"How they know that God exists, if they do, is itself unknown -- the devout do not know that God exists in the way it is known that dinosaurs existed, or that there exist infinitely many prime numbers. The funny thing about arguments for the existence of God is that, if they succeed, they were never needed in the first place."
