Is Russia the Evil Empire? No. Look!

(Kayse Melone) From Evangelical Christian patriot to Anti-Empire Atheist: Isn't US the EE?
Modern Russia has extraordinary structures | Liden & Denz Russia

Life in Russia: SHOCKING MYTHS about the country will leave viewers speechless
(Wild to Travel) Why would any American be shocked that Russia is a beautiful and modern non-communist country? It's because we've been lied to in the West for so long that there is no setting us straight. And we don't travel out of our country enough to know anything directly for ourselves. Go out into the world! Stop being duped by PR propaganda from both sides. That's why Wisdom Quarterly has special correspondents like Eli from Russia and AgentNesty:
I prefer beloved modern Russia to Central Asia

From Evangelical Patriot to Anti-Empire Atheist
(Kayse Melone) June 26, 2025: We had a great question asked on a chat on one of my recent livestreams. What does it mean to love yourself as an American when you no longer believe in what [North] America stands for? As someone who grew up in evangelical Christian nationalism in the heart of red-state America, I’ve had to unpack the myths I was raised on, face the guilt and shame of living in the belly of the beast, and begin the long process of internal deconstruction and healing. We talk about American exceptionalism, the spiritual cost of capitalism, and why letting go of nationalism might be the most patriotic thing we can do.

How to breathe and live underwater (video)

The answer, in brief, is join this tribe and do what they do. Become a master diver by epigenetics -- kickstarting our natural human capacity that mostly goes unprompted and dormant.

7 days with the tribe that BREATHES underwater (Bajau Sea Nomads)
(Joe HaTTab) The BAJAU (Sama-Bajau): Sea Nomads of Southeast Asia. 🌊 Meet the Bajau — the “Sea Gypsies” who have lived in and on the ocean for centuries. With a population of about 100,000 people across Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, they are legendary free divers (70 meter + depths with no oxygen tanks). Let's visit their stilt villages in Tawi-Tawi, Philippines, and North Sulawesi, Indonesia, to uncover their survival secrets — and find out why their ancient way of life is vanishing.

Mermaids were once real?

Young men, beware of selkies, beautiful but vicious
Mermaid princess Suvannamaccha (Thai สุพรรณมัจฉา, RTGS Suphannamatcha or Suphan Matcha, Khmer សុវណ្ណមច្ឆា, ALA-LC Suvaṇṇmacchā, Pali सुवण्णमच्छा, suvaṇṇamacchā, literally "golden fish") is a daughter of Ravana (Thotsakan), appearing in the Thai and other Southeast Asian versions of the Ramanaya [1].

Suvannamaccha tries to spoil Hanuman's plans to build a bridge to (Sri) Lanka but falls in love with him instead [2].
  • The figure of Suvannamaccha is popular in Thai folklore and is represented on small cloth streamers or framed pictures that are hung as luck-bringing charms in shops and houses throughout predominantly Theravada Buddhist Thailand.
Story
A mermaid charm in Thailand
[The Hindu monkey-headed god] Hanuman, while building a causeway [that has really been found to exist], discovered that he was hampered by mermaids underwater.
  • Hanging wall mount: Suvannamaccha luck bringing charm (amulet) in a riverside shop in Nonthaburi, Thailand.
When the divine Mother Goddess Sita is kidnapped, her husband [ET] Lord Rama enlists Hanuman's help in rescuing her. Hanuman learns that Goddess Sita is being held captive on the island of (Sri) Lanka.

Hanuman informs Lord Rama, her husband, who orders him to build a causeway to Lanka from Proto-India Jambudvipa so that Rama's army can attack.

Chris Columbus reported seeing mermaids.
Hanuman collects his band of Vanaras and they begin placing huge boulders in the sea [between the tip of the subcontinent and the teardrop shaped island to the south] to make a foundation for the causeway.

After a few days, they notice something is wrong and call Hanuman to report that matter to him. They tell him that each day they throw rocks into the sea and the next day they are gone. Hanuman asks for volunteers to join him while he instructs the others to continue throwing rocks into the sea.

When several volunteers step forward, Hanuman leads them into the waves. They find a large number of mermaids living underwater. As they watch, a new rock is tossed in. The mermaids underwater take the rocks and carry them away.

Golden Fish, you're real! Every Thai knew it!
Hanuman looks around for their leader. He spots a lovely mermaid supervising the others. He swims towards her, but she skillfully evades him. Time and again he begins an attack, but it comes to nothing. Hanuman soon finds he is falling in love with the aquatic creature.

He changes his tactics and begins to silently woo her. She responds to him, and soon they are together at the bottom of the sea.
  • When Maha Moggallana, the Buddhist monk the Buddha declared "foremost in psychic powers," looked into the sea, he saw a delightful world of mermaids (sea nymphs) dancing and existing by what sounds like advanced technological means:
  • "In the middle of the ocean/ There are mansions aeon-lasting,/ Sapphire-shining, fiery-gleaming/ With a clear translucent luster,/ Where iridescent sea-nymphs dance/ In complex, intricate rhythms" (MN 50.25, trans. by Ven. Nanamoli and Bhikkhu Bodhi).
  • "Mansions stand for an eon in the middle of the sea,/ The hue of beryl-stones, brilliant, glowing, radiant;/ There dance full many nymphs in divers hues" (Isaline Blew Horner, born 1896, trans. of MN 50).
  • "There are mansions that last an eon standing in the middle of a lake./ Sapphire-colored, brilliant, they sparkle and shine./ Dancing there are nymphs shining in all different colors." (Bhante Sujato, trans. of MN 50). More: Are mermaids manatees?
  • PHOTOS: We are MERMAIDS!
Later, Hanuman asks the mermaid why she is stealing the rocks. She tells him that she is Suvannamaccha, a daughter of Ravana (the "demon" who had abducted Sita).

When Ravana saw Hanuman's Vanaras building a causeway, he instructed Suvannamaccha to stop it. Hanuman tells the mermaid why he is building the causeway.

He tells her of the abduction of Sita, the battle between Rama and her father Ravana, and why they started to build a bridge to reach Lanka. More

Future of Hope: Dr. Jane Goodall (3/30)

Dr. Jane Goodall's address and presentation begins at Minute 34:37 with a highlight at 1:13:31

We say we 'love' animals but pay to kill them?
What happened? More than 1,500 people showed up from in and around Pasadena to welcome the great, albeit softspoken, doctor and environmental icon. She told the story of her life, gave reasons for hope that our planet can be saved, then took questions submitted by students. What can we all do to save animals, save humans, and save the forests? Go vegan, plant-based, vegetarian, or intermittently veggie. Join a local chapter of Jane Goodall's Root & Shoots, and consider that every decision we make individually about a clean environment adds up (forming collective action) until, one day, it's clean and restored.

Int'l Women's Day, March 8, 2025

Women's March takes to the streets of downtown Los Angeles
(NBCLA) March 8, 2025: Thousands of protesters, women and allies, gathered at Pershing Square in downtown before marching several blocks to LA City Hall for a march on International Women's March. Amber Frias reports for the NBC4 News at 6:00 pm on March 7, 2025.
White women, did we invent feminism? No, but we take the credit. We made these caps.

.
Pink pussyhat riots and disorderly marches, why not? It's also Be Nasty Day. What better way toward progress than civil disobedience?
Fight the power. Buy the tee-shirt? DIY
Imagine a gender equal world: a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination, a world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive, a world where difference is valued and celebrated.

Together we can forge gender equality. Collectively for #IWD2025 we can all #AccelerateAction.

International women's symbol
International Women's Day (IWD) has been around for over a century, and now it's time to pack it up because women have achieved complete equality!

No, many issues are still impacting women, holding back more than half the world. Since 1911, this day has been for all who care about women's equality.

Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness about discrimination. Take action to forge gender parity.

Um, "all IWD activity is valid," really?
All IWD activity is valid -- burning bras, leading Law of Attraction manifestation workshops, attending pricey DEI seminars, sewing white flags and giving up, gaining weight until obese, knitting pink caps with little ears and marching for corporate sponsors, making posters, forming a Pussy Riot punk collective or skittle band and playing in a church without permission, getting doodle tats, filing lawsuits, turning into men and fighting for the other side, sitting at home depressed, watching Pearl videos, all of it (well, maybe not all, Pearl Davis must be stopped!) -- that's what makes IWD so inclusive. More
Pearls of Wizdumb (or brilliant irony?)
Pearl believes she's helping women by being honest as she sees it, even if women hate it. She has become a rallying point for women against Pearl and her outrageous pro-male views in a patriarchal society. So if SHE believes, is that "valid"? If someone thinks s/he's helping, is that enough? Is that the standard? Men males are allies, whether all women are or not, whether females think so or not.

Pearl will not stop, so should she be stopped? - What about Whatever? There's no patriarchy?

Should I get a sexy tattoo? (sutra)

My face tattoos ain't scary
I ain't got no regrets. But, and this is a big butt, I do have one ragret. But so what? I look cool.
.
The pain inside is now on the outside
(VICE) Why in the Hades would anyone get a tattoo on his, her, or their face? VICE speaks to tattoo artist Roblake to explore the trend of inking/disfiguring the human face: Subscribe to VICE.

Once you feel the stab of the needle as you get inked, you either wince and regret it or feel the rush of endorphins like you're being original while jumping on the bandwagon of the Basic, so basic. But the Straights just don't understand: It's cool, Man, so cool. Right? Isn't it? The drinkers at the bar think so. Other tatted folks think so. It's an arms race for blank space until nothing is left but the face.

Travis Barker-Kardashian is king of the dip...
Yeah, sure, Judaism and Christianity say it's a sin condemned by the Bible, but other religions are cool with it -- Buddhists, Tribal Islanders, Shamans, probably not Islam, um, Native Americans, the Maori and probably the Rosicrucians and Masons and Satanists, Luciferians/Illuminati, and Rap groupie chicks and gutter punks. "O meditators, an untaught ordinary worldling experiences pleasant feelings, experiences painful feelings, and experiences neutral feelings.

"Likewise, a well-taught noble [enlightened] disciple experiences pleasant, painful, and neutral feelings. What is the difference, the division, the distinction that exists herein [within this Doctrine/Dharma] between a well-taught noble disciple and an untaught worldling?

"When an untaught worldling is touched by a painful (bodily) feeling, that person worries and grieves, laments, beats his/her breast, weeps, and is distraught. One thus experiences two kinds of feelings, a bodily feeling and a mental feeling.

Post brand baloney is hard to knock if rappers/rockstars keep getting attention like Malone.
.
I tatted myself tatting myself - double pain.
"It is as if a person were pierced by a dart and, following the first piercing, one were hit by a second dart. So that person will experience feelings caused by two darts.

"In just this way, an untaught worldling when touched by a painful (bodily) feeling worries and grieves, laments and beats her/his breast, weeps and is distraught.

The Dead in the Realm of Hungry Ghosts call
me "premature." What was my rush to rot?
"So one experiences two kinds of [unpleasant] feeling, a bodily and a mental feeling.

"Having been touched by that painful feeling, one resists (and resents) it. Then in one who so resists (and resents) that painful feeling, an underlying tendency of resistance (dosa, aversion) against that painful feeling comes to underlie (one's mind/heart).

Jelly Roll: I look hella good, and everybody likes it. I've felt alotta pain in life, y'know?
.
What do I need to do to get noticed around here?
"Under the impact of that painful feeling, one then proceeds to [seek and] enjoy sensual pleasure/happiness.

"And why does one do so? An untaught worldling, O meditators, does not know of any OTHER escape from painful feelings except the [endless pursuit of happiness through the unfulfilling and disappointing] enjoyment of sensual pleasure/happiness.

"Pursuit of Happiness" (Kid Cudi)

.
Fettered: BDSM buff shows bare buttocks (wiki)
"Then in one who enjoys sensual pleasure/happiness, an underlying tendency to lust [lobha, greediness, grasping, clinginess] for pleasant feelings comes to underlie (one's mind/heart). One does not know, according to how it actually is, the:
  • arising and ending of these feelings,
  • nor the gratification, the
  • danger, nor the
  • escape connected with these feelings.
Jelly Roll's next tattoo is going to be so meta.
"In one who lacks this knowledge, an underlying tendency to ignorance (moha, delusion, confusion, wrong view) as to neutral feelings comes to underlie (one's mind/heart).

"When one experiences a pleasant feeling, a painful feeling, or a neutral feeling, one feels it as one fettered [put in bondage] by it.

"Such a one, O meditators, is called an untaught ordinary worldling who is fettered by rebirth, by old age, by death, by sorrow, lamentation, pain, grief, and despair.

"One is fettered by suffering (dukkha, pain, disappointment, dissatisfaction, frustration, a feeling of never being fulfilled), I declare.

The difference
I get it! All that arises impersonally passes away.
"But in the case of a well-taught noble disciple, O meditators, when touched by a painful feeling, s/he will not worry nor grieve and lament. One will not beat his/her breast nor weep nor be distraught.

"One experiences one kind of feeling, a bodily one, but not a mental feeling.

"It is as if a person were pierced by a dart but were not hit by a second dart following after the first one.

"So this person experiences feelings caused only by a single dart. In just this way, a well-taught noble disciple when touched by a painful feeling will neither worry nor grieve, will not lament nor beat one's breast, not weep nor be distraught. One experiences a single feeling, a bodily one.

"Having been touched by that painful feeling, one does not resist (nor resent) it. Hence, in such a person no underlying tendency of resistance (dosa) against that painful feeling comes to underlie (one's mind/heart).

The result
Then there was no more pain at all.
"Under the impact of that painful feeling, one does not seek to enjoy sensual happiness [to escape or compensate for it]. Why not?

"As a well-taught noble disciple, one knows of an actual ESCAPE from painful feelings other than by [the futile and disappointing distraction and diversion of] enjoying sensual pleasure/happiness.

"Then in one who does not seek to enjoy sensual pleasure/happiness, no underlying tendency to lust (lobha) for pleasant feelings comes to underlie (one's mind/heart).

"One knows, according to how it actually is,
  • the arising and ending of those feelings, and
  • the gratification,
  • the danger, and
  • the escape connected with these feelings.
Ha, ya laugh at me, but ya notice, and I gets $$$
"In one who knows thus, no underlying tendency to ignorance (moha) as to neutral feelings comes to underlie (one's mind/heart).

"When one experiences a pleasant feeling, a painful feeling, or a neutral feeling, one feels it as one who is not fettered by it.

"Such a person, O meditators, is called a well-taught noble disciple who is [no longer] fettered by rebirth, by old age, by death, by sorrow, lamentation, pain, grief, or despair. One is not fettered [not in bondage] to suffering, I declare.

"This, O meditators, is the difference, the division, the distinction that exists between a well-taught noble disciple and an untaught ordinary worldling."

How shall we PURSUE happiness? (Project X)

Proud to be an American with right to watch BH
We are Americans. We have the right to "life, liberty, and the PURSUIT of happiness." Never was our arrival at happiness promised. We have no "right" to be happy. That was never promised! We just thought it was. The founding document says, we have the right to endlessly pursue it, sucker.

We can have sex, have a spouse, even have kids, or stay single and chase wine, women, and song. There's a very funny Benny Hill quip that's hard to forget.

The Benny Hill Show is filth, funny, but filth.
A guy is in a bar boozing it up when an older man looks at him with disgust and says, "Wine, women, and song -- that's what killed your father!"

And the guy boozing it up quips, "Yeah, he couldn't get any, so he shot himself." Everyone laughs. Why? We imagine we would kill ourselves from all the pain, misery, and tedious drudgery of human life [at least in the West, where we have so much material surplus compared to everyone else on the planet] IF we couldn't enjoy our Hedonism and sensual pursuits, which we think make it all worthwhile or at least sufferable. Alcohol alone makes the medicine go down, and does anyone but the alcoholic realize how much harm is being done in the tradeoff? We can endure as long as we imagine there's more coming down the line, here or hereafter, by winning the lottery or getting into heaven. Maybe I should get a face tattoo, or a sexy one.
