Irish Latinos: Somos paisanos (comedy)

Irish-Mexican boxing champ 'Cinnamon Barrigan' aka Canelo Alvarez
I'm not Irish. I'm purely Mexican.
Canelo
in Spanish is the masculine form of the word "cinnamon," which is a common nickname for redheads [19].

Jicama con chile (mx.pinterest.com)
In Mexico, it is common for people to associate red hair with the Irish soldiers who fought for Mexico. They were Los Patricios, "Saint Patrick's Battalion," during the Mexican–American War. Speaking about his ancestry, Canelo Álvarez once said, "There might have been an Irish grandfather somewhere back in my past" [18]. Canelo's neighbors nicknamed him "Jícama con Chile," which translates as "white root with red chili flakes" — a popular snack in Mexico and Los Angeles [20]. More: Canelo Álvarez Wiki (Who's his mother? Ana Maria Barragan).

Scientific study reveals our psychic ability

Dhr. Seven, Pat Macpherson (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
Who designed this Las Vegas psychic study? Mad scientist Professor Vladimir D. Gore?!
What should we do NOW? Reinterpret "freedom" as freedom-from-craving/disappointment.
.
The Buddha on mind control in meditation
The future isn't what it used to be. (We have the power to change it in the present). There's only now. This future to come will give meaning to the past.

The thing is, How are we to know what to do so the future we get -- given the changeable past -- is what we want it to be?
That's where this being naturally psychic comes into play. There was a scientific study, replicated and confirmed, conducted by a pioneer in a University of Nevada, Las Vegas study using many generations of freshmen.

The Princeton Anomalies Lab may have talked about it in the Quad-S Consciousness Convention in San Francisco many years ago. But it gets talked about elsewhere as a brilliant design that looks at many subjects over many trials rather than looking for one or two very well-developed psychics.

Who designed this psychic study? Prof. Gore?!
DESIGN
: Expose subjects (a very large N) to two types of photos randomly selected to occur on the computer screen, one very distressing (e.g., gore), one very uplifting (e.g., an eagle soaring over a lake).

Strap the subjects into a polygraph device to measure vital signs and galvanic skin response. Set up a computer screen to show a photo every ten seconds (randomly occurring between the two kinds, distressing or uplifting), and measure the "response" to it BEFORE it is presented, that is, before the photo appears.

The subject does not know that the body knows.
What has been found is that the subjects' bodies (not their conscious minds) "know" which it will be, from the set of distressing or uplifting photos before any picture randomly appears. How does the body know and know so well that it responds appropriately to that kind of stimuli before which kind of stimuli it will be has even been determined?

This experiment aims to demonstrate that we have innate psychic abilities built into the reality of our human bodies. These are psychic instruments if we can just keep our impure, muddled, dim thinking, emotional baggage, and tendency to project out of the way.

One can only imagine that animals in the wild are even better at this than humans from the city. So if we follow our gut, heart, instinct, intuition, it can lead us quite well.

Karma, Rebirth, and Samsara
We are the architects of our karma and the (responses to all the) results of that karma. Therefore, we are the architects of our future. It's like the Buddha says at the start of the Dhammapada: Mind/heart is the forerunner of all conditions. If we think, speak, or act with an impure mind/heart (motive), we will get a result appropriate to that kind of action/deed/motive. Heads up. Doer, beware. Choose with the future in mind, realizing the importance of intention (cetana) to color the act for our future misery, neutrality, or bliss. When?

NEW EXHIBIT: LA RAZA
(September 16, 2017-February 10, 2019)
"Chicano Power" graffiti on the wall
The Autry Museum in Griffith Park La Raza, the influential bilingual newspaper published in Los Angeles from 1967-1977, provided a voice to the Chicano Rights Movement.

La Raza engaged photographers not only as journalists but also as artists and activists to capture the definitive moments, key players, and signs and symbols of Chicano activism.

Cesar Chavez, United Farm Workers (W)
The archive of nearly 25,000 images created by these photographers, now housed at the Chicano Studies Research Center at UCLA, provides the foundation for an exhibition exploring photography’s role in articulating the social and political concerns of the Chicano Movement during a pivotal time in the art and history of the United States.

LA RAZA will be the most sustained examination to date of both the photography and the alternative press of the Chicano Movement, positioning photography not only as an artistic medium but also as a powerful tool of social activism.

Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA is now at The Autry in Griffith Park, part of LA RAZA

Buddhism in Mexico (Budismo)

Wisdom Quarterly and Budismo.com

America is not synonymous with the United States, although we use it that way. America is a continent with northern, central, and southern sections. The economic dominance of one part of the north has led to US hegemony (social influence) and military control and distorted the world's view of Americans. Mexico is just to the south of the US because the US stole many parts of Mexico including world-famous California. Just as Buddhism intrigues US citizens, citizens of Mexico and the rest of the Americas are embracing the Dharma. Of course, Buddhism in ancient Mexico and Mesoamerica goes much further back than it does in the US. Particularly striking is the Eagle-men versus Snake-men warring, popular in both Aztec and Buddhist mythology and central to the founding of Mexico and its flag. And there is also the adoration of GuanYin/Guadalupe. Budismo en espanol is no longer limited to Spain.

Budismo General

Mas

VALLE DE BRAVO, Mexico - In December 2010, a longtime dream of H.E. Yongdzin Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche was realized with the internal consecration of the Great Stupa for World Peace at the Chamma Ling retreat center, Mexico.

This huge, sacred structure represents all paths to enlightenment. It is hoped that its presence will help remove obstacles and discord and bring peace and happiness to Mexico and the world.

Among the hundreds of participants at the consecration were Yongdzin Rinpoche, the most senior teacher of the Bon Buddhist tradition of Tibet.

Also in attendance were Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche, abbot of Triten Norbutse Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal; Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, spiritual director of Ligmincha Institute; Bon Buddhist masters; representatives of other Buddhist traditions; as well as local native shamans. Astral Projection (video instructions)

WARNING: First learn meditation, lucid dreaming, and dream-recall.

(Yallno22) Astral projection is the ultimate self-discovery experience to confront, deal with, and control fears in desires. By learning to astral project, we can learn many things about ourselves, while unlearning many things we previously thought were true. This leads us to the realization that our physical bodies are only a part of our entire selves. Consciousness is interdependent but separable from the body.

"Don't believe, experience it."

There is more to our existence than meets the eye. In our limited awareness, the reality we live and breathe on Earth -- with beautiful landscapes, mountains, rivers, streams, animals, and insects -- can be compared with the petals on a flower. What we see is not the whole flower but only a part. This is because humans have lost touch with the use of our own minds. We conclude, erroneously, that the physical world is the only reality there is. We believe that our life as an individual is only the flesh of the body. This leads us to conclude that the physical world is solid and real because our senses tell him us so. It "feels" solid and real.

The mind has abilities that go beyond the five senses and therefore beyond the physical world. The petal of the flower we now experience is the material world, the grosser physical plane of existence. It has a specific vibration. Similarly, all creatures on this level vibrate at the same rate. Because of this, regardless of where we go on this level, all things take on the appearance of being solid, material objects. Just as the colors of the rainbow are the effect of different vibration rates of light and notes of a piano are different vibrations of strings, so the entire universe contains various forms of light and octaves, all of which are varying rates of vibration. These universal harmonics comprise the different levels of existence.

The Earth we live on is only one of many dimensions. There are other spheres described as being above or below us. Actually, they are not really "above" or "below" us. Rather, they are at all times all around us permeating all things.

Astral projection allows us to discover that the people and objects existing on other realms are just as solid and real as any object on Earth's familiar terrain. If we happen to be on another level looking back "down" on this terrain, we see an Earth that is not solid.

Right now at every instant, we are living, coexisting, and walking through people and objects in other dimensions! When a person astral projects, that person is able to see these other frontiers. When we were born into this world, our karma originated a physical body. This body is able to sense the vibratory rates here to carry out our duties. Astral projection allows us to project "out of the body" and into the next plane of existence, which is the Astral Plane. When we do this, we are in another body, which is called the "astral body." We already possess this astral body, just as all other people, animals, creatures and everything on earth possess an astral body.

There are, for example, remarkable out-of-body (OBE) and near-death-experience (NDE) cases from people who have been blind and deaf since birth. They are able to see sights and hear sounds and experience the worlds in real time. Try it.

The Gazing Technique

This is done when going to bed. You need something to focus on. If they are within view, use the Moon, the stars, a crystal ball, a favorite doll, because all of these work well. Use whatever you like (but not a candle or anything that burns since this method involves the body falling asleep, and that would mean leaving a dangerous object unattended).

Place the object within view and lie down in bed.

Stare at the object as you doze off. (The first few times may be frustrating, because you may simply fall asleep and that's it). But after a few attempts, this method worked for me.

Keep staring at the object. As eyelids become heavy, keep staring. Eventually the eyes will close, but you will still be able to see the object. You will still be staring at the object.

Sit up or stand up, and don't be surprised to see your physical body sleeping peacefully in your bed. Then go where you like careful to protect the silver strand connecting your physical and astral bodies.

To protect yourself from inimical spiritual forces, shroud yourself in protective white light or call on help and protection from good forces before beginning. For complete safety instructions and more techniques, contact the:

Cinco de Mayo Special (Spanish)

What is Cinco de Mayo?

Buddha Boy, Ram Bahadur Bomjon, Nepal (paldendorje.com)

A Message of Peace from Buddha Boy

The Mexican origins of Buddhism in the Americas
