1914, the Free Alcohol bill is amended again to decrease the regulatory burden and encourage alcohol fuel production in the U.S.
1917, Alexander Graham Bell: "Alcohol makes a beautiful, clean and efficient fuel…Alcohol can be manufactured from corn stalks, and in fact from almost any vegetable matter capable of fermentation…We need never fear the exhaustion of our present fuel supplies so long as we can produce an annual crop of alcohol to any extent desired" [15].
1918, Scientific American says: It is "now definitely established that alcohol can be blended with gasoline to produce a suitable fuel…" [16]. Another article notes that the Pasteur Institute of France found it could obtain 10 U.S. gallons (38 L) of ethanol per ton of seaweed [17].
1919, Prohibition of beverage alcohol in the U.S. leads to suggestions for more ethanol use as an anti-knock blend with gasoline [18]. Farm belt politicians are split on ethanol as a fuel. While distillers could have a new market for their alcohol, some thought that allowing any distillery to stay open would be a "bargain with the devil."

Why does this forest look like a fingerprint?
(Vox) Team Vox set out to solve why a forest in the middle of Uruguay, South America, looks like a fingerprint and other odd patterns — and wound up finding something much bigger.
Deep in the geographic center of Uruguay, there’s a peculiar group of trees just a few kilometers down the road from the small town of San Gregorio de Polanco.
From the ground, it's not particularly notable. But from above, from a bird or drone's eye view (and particularly on Google Earth), the view is mind-boggling:
Hundreds of trees are arranged in perfect concentric arcs, all spiraling toward the center. Together, they look remarkably like a human fingerprint.
When the team first saw this forest in a Reddit post, it was fascinated.
Why had the trees been arranged in this shape?
Who planted them there?
And why — when one zooms out on satellite view — was the entire country of Uruguay covered in similar-looking forests?
To answer that question, the team went straight to the source: interviewing locals, experts, and people whose lives have been shaped by a transformed landscape and economy.

The moon landing footage we all saw on TV was as fake as fake could be. Thanks, Stanley Kubrick, for leaving in all the mistakes then putting in all those Easter eggs in your movies to hint at what you had done. But that's not to say we've never been to the moon, Luna/Soma, only that we didn't get to see it all happening as we were told. Try telling that to Eugene "Buzz" Aldrin, as some have, and he'll punch you in the face. Noted researcher Eric Dubay, a much maligned American whistleblower, says the moon is not at all what we're told so could never be landed on. In any case, many say we're being treated to a hologram in the sky covering the actual moon, which is in the atmosphere, according to Russian science, and is not nearly so far away as we are told. The same is true of our sun, Sol/Surya, which is of the same size, circling around above us being chased by the moon, in accordance with many religious traditions and their ancient cosmologies. Who knows for sure what is true, but are we allowed to QUESTION others' opinions and expert analyses of what's "true," or must we just buy and believe what the "experts" tell us? We're better off listening to comedians for the news if that's the case. For example, what about COVID and the plandemic? Who did Buzz marry in Los Angeles this week? Dr. Anca Faur, who's only three decades younger.

This leak reveals the elites' tax havens. A leak
of 11 million confidential documents from a Panamanian law firm has
revealed the extent to which the world's rich and powerful use tax
havens to hide their wealth.
The documents, to which the BBC has had
access, show how a law firm helped clients launder money, dodge
sanctions, and evade tax. Among the papers are suspicious deals
involving a close friend of RussianPresident. The firm,
called Mossack Fonseca, says it has operated beyond reproach for 40
years and have never been accused or charged with criminal wrong-doing [until now].

Gospel of Jesus's Wife: "Jesus said to them, 'my wife...' " and "she will be able to
be my disciple" written in the Coptic language of Egypt, the fragment contains the
phrases.
In 2012 [a year of revelations], the discovery of a tattered papyrus fragment rocked the biblical studies community after some alleged its text proved that Jesus was married.
Now tests show the fragment is not only likely legitimate -- it's also very old.
The controversial fragment known as the "Gospel of Jesus's Wife" dates to between the sixth and ninth centuries, and could possibly date back as early as the second to fourth centuries, according to a newly published study in the Harvard Theological Review.
"The main topic of the fragment is to affirm that women who are mothers and wives can be disciples of Jesus -- a topic that was hotly debated in early Christianity as celibate virginity increasingly became highly valued," King said in a statement.
The document first came to King's attention in 2011. She had it examined by Roger Bagnall, director of the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World at New York University. Bagnall's initial findings were that the fragment was ancient, which lead to more testing.

When the existence of the papyrus was announced in 2012, another scholar of early Christian texts, Princeton's Elaine Pagels was on NPR to saying that the papyrus suggests that at the time it was written "apparently, there were stories going around that [Jesus] may have been" married.
"[It] may also suggest that Jesus is using a symbolic language as he is in other Gospels that we know of from the second century, like the Gospel of Thomas or the Gospel of Philip," Pagels told All Things Considered. LISTEN
