US Senator Webb arrives in Burma for talks

Sen. James Webb (Democrat, Virginia) arrived in Burma today to meet with the country's senior officials, including [dictator] General Than Shwe, the reclusive leader of the ruling military junta. Upon his arrival from Laos as part of a tour of Southeast Asia, Webb traveled to Burma's remote new capital, Naypyidaw, where he is scheduled to see Than Shwe over the weekend. More>>
