Refuge Recovery [Noah Levine] responds

RefugeRecovery.com [Noah Levine's for-profit]; Seth Auberon (ed,), Wisdom Quarterly

A message to everyone in [Noah Levine's] Refuge Recovery community:
Coming out of RefCon5, our community's annual conference, there seems to be some confusion about what’s happening. So here it is from [Noah Levine's side] perspective:

Refuge Recovery is not in transition. In fact, [some] Refuge Recovery meetings and inter-sanghas in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Texas, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Idaho, Illinois, Washington State, Indiana, Virginia, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, Mississippi, Louisiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, the United Kingdom, and Australia already have made it clear that they will remain [Noah Levine] Refuge Recovery [as opposed to the new Dharma Recovery] groups.

We understand that in the coming days, there will be Refuge Recovery groups in other states and around the world that will let it be known they are staying the course with [Noah Levine's] community. It is [Noah Levine's] hope, of course, that most Refuge Recovery sanghas (communities) will remain with [the old, disgraced] Refuge Recovery.

On top of that, new RR groups formed in the last week that include meetings in New Jersey, Washington State, and Northern Ireland.
At RefCon5 it was made clear by Amy Reed, exiting board member and one of the leaders of the[break-away group [Dharma Recovery], that there is no need for a vote in order for any sangha to stay in the Refuge Recovery community.

If anyone wants to belong to another group, s/he or they should respect the hard work and the relationships developed by Refuge Recovery groups with facilities and institutions over the last five years by starting entirely new meetings and inviting others to join, rather than trying to divide or "flip" existing Refuge Recovery groups.

In addition, [Noah Levine's Refuge Recovery] main social media pages are being restored to their original purpose, as forums to allow us to support each other as we travel together on the road of recovery.

Next up: our local and regional pages. We ask that any Refuge Recovery FB page administrators who are leaving Refuge Recovery, please turn over the administration of all RR developed pages and groups to administrators remaining with [the old, disgraced, now that the lawsuits have been dropped] Refuge Recovery.

Refuge Recovery was started in 2010, five years before the Refuge Recovery non-profit corporation (refugerecovery.org) was formed. Now, with the dissolution of the Refuge Recovery board, we have the opportunity, for the first time, to set up a fully democratic infrastructure.

Refuge Recovery representatives will be elected from the meeting level up, in an unbroken line of democracy all the way to the first of many World Service Conventions, where elected fellowship representatives and trusted long-term Refuge Recovery members serving on the board will work together to ensure the unity, integrity, and growth of our Refuge Recovery program.

With grief for the loss of some of our community [due to Noah Levine's sexual misconduct and indiscretions and counter-lawsuits], and with exuberance about the possibilities for the future, we will continue to work hard for the benefit of all suffering addicts,

-- Noah Levine, Rachael, Russ, and Joseph, in service to the worldwide Refuge Recovery Sangha
