Good or bad, the mind already knows the value of awareness [of the present moment we call mindfulness], from a yogi’s notes.
Is the mind aware, mindful of the present? |
Yogi: There was a lot of wanting during the sit: it should go this way or that way. After two days, the mind relaxed. Then awareness was easy and smooth.
Later, the mind became tight again, back and forth.
Sayadaw U Tejaniya: You can already check your awareness: There is nothing else to do but just checking whether awareness is present or not.
Let the experience be.
Whatever you do, the mind is already knowing something. This is all you have to do.
